Talk to the guys with the MJ Morning Show on 93.3 FM.  They are selling MP3's online and may be able to put you in the right direction.

Most of our problems come from distributing the things we sell... I mean, really... no one wants to have to go to the LIF office and pick it up (if we can even keep it staffed).  

Ideas are coming across... although if you find anything that might work... let us know!  We could try to do iTunes or the Athletics online store or somehting... but we would like to keep it in house so we can make it cheeper and make more money!

Billy:

There's an artist named Joshua Kadison who had a couple of hits back in the early 90's.  Singer/songwriter kind of artist... anyway, he now makes his music available on his website (www.joshuakadison.com).  Before he started giving it away and asking people to donate what they would have paid to the hurricane victims, he did the following:

1.  Put the music on a separate server.

2.  Password protected the page.

3.  Required a PayPal payment before he'd mail out the password.

Once you paid and your payment cleared, then he'd e-mail you the password to the page on the secondary server that housed the files in MP3, WMV, and ZIP format.  To protect multiple people from using the same PW, he changed it every so often.

Not the BEST way of doing things, but one that worked for him.  Rather than pay some other distribution service a portion of your fees, you probably would be better served to do something like that.

Just a suggestion.  Looking forward to the CD/MP3s!

hmmm.... sounds interesting... I'm going to try getting with the College of Visual and Performing Arts webmaster and see what stuff they have to offer us as far as tech stuff.

LISTEN BAND PEOPLE!

You HAVE to get this music out to us before the end of December.

Nothing would be sweeter than taking the road trip up to Charlotte with the USF flags flying and the USF Fight Song blaring out the windows.  Plus, rolling through Charlotte sporting USF gear on the ride and #8 pumping out of the car.... this HAS to happen!

they recorded last night...so i would hope they have some ready for Christmas! I would like to get one for the ride!!! Good idea!

I will ask Dr R or Mr B when we will be able to distribute... we still have to do some recording at the Festival of Winds HOTSTOCK 05 this Sat.  

Remember... a few free audio files are located at http://band.arts.usf.edu/notice.htm

You can burn some of those in case the CD doesnt come out in time... which looks like it might not
