To just pick a game to be at noon for game plan only is stupid IMO. That doesn't get you better ratings or exposure and kills the local crowd in markets like Tampa where casual fans have other things to do on Saturday at noon. I guess it doesn't matter in college towns where the game is the ONLY thing to do on Saturday - the BE is not in those markets.

It is like Jefferson Sports -- it makes the game available to various broadcast and cable networks. GamePlan is just a cable network that buys the game from ESPN regional ...For example, BrightHouse Catch 47 -- a cable network -- has bought the rights to show games here locally... including both the Rutgers and Cincinnati games.ABC 28 has bought rights to ESPN Regional games in the past (this year, they chose three games on ESPNU - Penn State, Miami, and WVU).These are the official affiliates from the Big East website:BIG EAST STATION LINEUPAt press time, the following is the station lineup for the ESPN Regional/BIG EAST Game of the Week. Additional Channels will be added prior to the season (Stations may not carry all games every week - check local listings or the BIG EAST web site for schedule).SchoolStation LineupCincinnatiCincinnati - WXIX, WBQCConnecticutHartford, New Haven - WTXX (WB); WTIC (FOX)LouisvilleLouisville - TBDPittsburghPittsburgh - WTAE (ABC)Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon, York - WHPRutgersNew York - MSG Network (RSN)USFTampa, Sarasota, St. Petersburg - WFTS (ABC)SyracuseAlbany, Binghamton, Elmira, Rochester, Schenectady, Syracuse, Troy, Utica, Watertown - Time Warner CableBuffalo - WNGSWest VirginiaCharleston, Huntington - WCHS (ABC)Clarksburg, Weston - WVFX (Fox)Steubenville, Wheeling - WTRFBeckley, Bluefield, Oak Hill - WOAYOther stations included in the ESPN Regional Lineup:Philadelphia - WPHL (WB)Boston - WCVB (ABC); WMUR (ABC)Miami, Ft. I know what ESPN Regional is but listings I looked at did not have the game listed as ESPN Regional - only as game plan. If the BE game of the week is always made available to ESPN Regional and the local markets that want to carry it, then it makes sense for exposure of BE schools. Never Mind! Never Mind! For the clarification of others reading this, the Big East Game of the Week (GOTW) is always produced by ESPN Regional Television (ERT). Other Big East games are often produced by other networks/companies -- but the GOTW designation is reserved for ERT.
