Stephen Nicholas was an animal yesterday.  This guy is the real deal.  I haven't heard enough praises aimed at this guy, why not?  He's easily the most dominant player on our roster.

We lost.

I don't think it would be a good idea for him to turn pro after this year.  He could be a 1st round pick after 2006.

Stevie Nicks was dominant but not flawless yesterday.  I saw two apparent bad angles after watching the film but I'm a novice & could be incorrect.  Both cost USF dearly in rushing yardage.  One of the plays appeared to be his responsibility & the second may have saved USF.

My understanding is that he was actually playing through an injury that was never publicly announced.  Heard that from an insider during the game yesterday, and don't know whether it's accurate or not.

#51 played very well, as did our Defense.

I think also the reason for such small praise is that we EXPECT him to have these 2 sack games.

Nicholas had four tackles and two sacks and forced a fumble, but he found no reason to smile. "It doesn't matter how I play, we didn't win," said Nicholas, a junior who had no sacks last year and 51/2 total before the season opener. "That's the main thing. Can't be happy with the way the defense played if you lost. (The sacks) don't matter. We lost."

ET, your boy played very good on Saturday.  Your namesake had a great sack, and after that I kept an eye on him.  He was getting a very good surge into the backfield, and made I think 3 tackles.  He may have found his spot, in two years he and his HS buddy Cray could be the dominant DT's.

I was sooo PUMPED when he shared that sack  :o

Hoping he gets stronger this season to get more playing time. He's bulked up well and has done a great transistion inside. Admit that I was worried that he was gonna get lost in the shuffle moving to DT. He's really learned the position and knows that it's his place on this team.

Also expecting more plays in the coming years.
