Five transfers in 2 months.  Hmm, I sure hope we can use this to our advantage in recruiting.

Bulls Land Another Transfer

Published: Aug 27, 2005

TAMPA - Former Oregon CB Ryan Gilliam, who played in 11 games for the Ducks last season with two starts, said he will transfer to the University of South Florida.

Rated one of the nation's top high school recruits out of Tallahassee Lincoln, Gilliam said he left Oregon to be closer to his family.

"I've known USF Coach Jim Leavitt since ninth grade and he's so genuine," Gilliam said. "Coach Leavitt said even if I wasn't going to play at USF and needed someone to talk to, just give him a call. That appealed to me. I've got a lot of respect for him."

As a senior at Lincoln in 2002, Gilliam was rated the nation's 11th best cornerback by recruiting analyst Tom Lemming, chosing Oregon over Florida State.

At Oregon, he redshirted his first season, but ran track competing in the 100-meter dash (10.58 seconds) and 4x100 relay at the 2004 Pac-10 outdoor championships.

Gilliam (5-10, 170) must sit out the 2005 season and will have two years elibility remaining. His older brother Mike is a senior cornerback at Georgia.

Gilliam is USF's fifth transfer in the past two months. He joins WR Amp Hill (LSU), RB Vince Wilson (North Carolina), DE Maurice Charles (N.C. State) and QB Grant Gregory (Indiana).

Keep em coming, anyone is more than welcome here but GaYtor transfers, if you were dumb enough to choose that school then you certainly are too dumb to play for us.

Penn St is first but 2008 will always be in the back of my mind!! GO BULLS

Leavitt has some experience with meyers offense...namely smacking it when it came to tampa.  If out talent is even remotely similar it should be a fun game.

Looks like Wilson won't be coming, though, because of grades .....
