Guest S. Bien
I too don't like transfers.  I knew there are a few examples of them working out but mostly they don't. Demarcus Johnson actually did VERY well for UCF.  The others were nothing. Besides, my whole point is you have a 50-50 chance of being correct on each recruit.  You only like to talk about the ones that you are correct on.  But that is a discussion for another board!  I'll tell you one I was a bust on and that was Ramon McCollough. I got to see some serious clips of him in HS and that kid was something at nose. He'd blow through the line, almost unblockable at times. The only question mark was he was hurt a few times in HS that sidelined him and the injuries seemed minor. Although the film was enough to make everyone go WOW. Unfortunately Ramon bowed out of USF as quietly as he came in. He never made the mark some thought he would. It's a shame because he seemed to have some serious talent. Another guy that was an animal in HS was Mascoe. He had lots of off field problems but that kid was amazing. Also a stud in JC, but he couldn't make it in the classroom. They could make an immediate impact at LB and the return game, respectively. As for the starting Defensive and Offensive lineman, I hope they were seriously conditioning themselves this offseason, cause it looks like they wont be getting much relief this season. Lewis, Cedric King, Mike Williams, Joe Bain, J.B. Garris, David Mullins, Billy Henderson, Willie Williams, Andre Copeland, Willie Phelps, C.J. Hunnicutt, Craig Lloyd, Devon Davis, Shadie Jones, Marten Toewe, Rod Joyner, Ramon McCullough, Antonio Searcy, Curtis Chance ... i'm missing one more but can't remember off top of my head ... very few of them were significant losses, but the volume is what stands out ... In fact other than Chance,Searcy,Henderson and McCollough i doubt the others would have gotten any playing time.It has happened that the talent level has risen as shown by the many first and second years players that started or played last year. I think Copeland helps though with depth at RB. He was highly rated out of hish school wasn't he?

Guest S. Bien
4th string since Simpson has more speed, and is more elusive. He moved ahead of Copeland in the fall, the writing was on the wall for him as two classmates- Ponton and Simpson were clearly better.
