it is so obvious this is a bad hire that it warrants no discussion

usf football blew a great oppurtunity to build something greAT

but after one bad decision after another  i see no hope

i can't wait unitl leavitt is gone

velco-we are stuck with smith but why should  one be behind this move?

mikeb- will   follow leavitt until he leaves in disgrace  like he did with seth greenberg.

to many fans like mikeb/velco simply follow the leaders regardless of how bad their decisions are and this is a major problem with usf athletics

unitl we demand excellence we will get pig slop

And the fact that our position players are more experienced and improved will not be a factor at all.

Whatever, Smazza.  Take your marbles and go home.

Oh, and we get the gist of your feelings.  No need to repeat them on every thread on the board.

Maybe everyone's crying about this is getting to me, and I mean no disrespect directly to anyone (well, except maybe smazza), but NOBODY HERE ON THIS BOARD IS THE COACH OF THE USF OR ANY OTHER FOOTBALL TEAM.  Let Leavitt do his job.  Let Leavitt choose his staff.  Let Leavitt prove how this move will turn out.  If it doesn't work out, then you can complain about it.  BUT NONE OF YOU WERE IN LEAVITT'S SHOES AND KNOW WHAT HE FACED IN HIS DECISION.  You are operating in a vacuum with one piece of info, and jumping up and down without taking an objective look at the situation.

DUH....do we have any other choice but to live with the decision?

It does not mean we have to agree with the decision and since when can't one voice their opinion on a message board?

I can get a good look at a T-Bone by sticking my head up a bulls ass, but i'd rather take the butchers word for it.

In other words, Get your head out of the bulls ass and trust the butcher.

To label this a good or bad decision AT THIS POINT is freaking ridiculous. You may not agree with it but nobody KNOWS if it's a bad decision yet. I don't give a crap how much you THINK you know about football, there's no way to judge this decision until, at least, some freaking games are played ..........

not good or bad but...

low probability of getting the results we all want based on past preformance. there were others in the mix that would have given us a better chance of success

Jim leavitt wasn't a head coach before coming here right? and that turned out pretty good.

I don't like Smith as a QB coach... and i'm concerned big time about him as an OC... but i'll give him a chance.

Not seeing him on the sidelines will already be an improvement ;)

so...you are comparing JL KState defense ranked top 10 his last 2yrs before becoming HC, with smith's last 2 yrs QB preformance before HE gets get promoted

i say not even on the same planet with that comparison!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
