Amen Collin!

One thing to note, we dodnt get knocked out of Europe by an inferior side, it was AC Milan, who are in the final to be played next Wednesday against the thieving scum that is Liverpool, so to be knocked out of Europe by the team (hopefully) about to become champions aint all bad.

But yeah what is bad is losing to the likes of Norwich, who just got relegated, and Portmouth, who just avoid relegation.  There is still hope for the future but a BIG turning point is about to occur which will be the guideing force for the future, it all depends how we replace the older players.  We have two of the brightest stars in Europe (Ronny and Rooney) and the best striker (Ruud) but it comes down to finding a solid keeper and we just dont have one, unlike Chelski who have two!  You lose a lot less games when the other team doesnt score!!!

There is hope but it seems to be diminishing fast

It's Joel's, as apparently he's been playing GM with his friends and spending Daddy's summer transfer money in his head already.  They'll make a big purchase in the off season to try and show the fans they care and quiet down the FC United talk (the thought that the fans will start a shadow club).  But it all rings hollow.  In the NFL you have a cap, so you can only spend so much.  In real football, you can pull a Real Madrid/Chelsea and buy every one of the best players on earth.  There's no way they spend tons of money long term, not with this kind of debt.  I think the first thing to go is the academy budget, as they are in this to make as much as possible as quickly as possible, and could care less about the talent level or quality of the side in 10 years.

But what they don't understand is you simply can't break away from the TV deal, sell PSL's, naming rights to great theatres of the game like Old Trafford, and still have a fan base.  In America, that's considered capitalism and management being creative... in Europe it's considered blasphemy.  It's one thing if a new stadium is named after Reebok, but this would be like naming Fenway Fleet Bank Park.

And RJW, we should have beat Milan.  If Carroll keeps the clean sheet he should have at Trafford, we get a goal in the San Siro.  Yes they were superior at the back, but their attack was so... Italian.  Maybe it's the American in me that loves scoring, but I'll take a team that pushes forward and plays with some creativity over a more talented side playing 11 behind the ball.  Death to Italian football, the ruination of the game.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
