Unfortunately, being a good coordinator does not necessarily make you a great head coach.Dimel has a pretty good pedigree and credentials and proven offensive results. If he can get a school like Wyoming to successful throw the ball all over the field he should be able to do it hear.BTW....the other guy I was thinking of after Hobbie retired was former BYU HC Gary Crowton. bullzpen4636 Posted April 22, 2005 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 76 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 04/17/2005 Share Posted April 22, 2005 i wouldn't mind dimmel, houston was able to get to a bowl game with his players and his stint at wyoming sounds impressive. but bringing him in this late in the offseason sounds like trouble, give franks his shot, he knows the plays and he'll be better able to maintain some consistency in the offense. if he flops then hire dimmel or someone that can properly execute leavitt's offense. i'm all for ryals coming back, he seemed like he left on good terms too bad it didn't work out at lsu, he was a well respected recruiter and he was instrumental in bringing in hall. not sure it will happen though. i know hobbie's resignation was a shock to us fans, but was this expected within the program?
