  1. Ready to start the season of optimism/excitement and try to start with a clean slate. Younger players are becoming the difference-makers on this team. I would love to continue the trend with some of these commits. Go Bulls!
  2. That'd be a fantastic move. I hope someone on the coaching staff or at Athletics has made the call to even see if Selvie would be available and willing. I spoke to a friend from the Athletic Department earlier and he DID tell me that Selvie would be on hand for V.Jax signing... I didn't really connect the dots that it will be in Dallas until I saw your post. I guess CWT knows what he is doing and really trying for that last minute push. I hope it works. Sorry no link, no article, just speculation from an insider. Take it for what it's worth, not much until it's ink on a page. I tell you what though... I am stoked for tomorrow! Let's put this dream team together. Go Bulls!
  3. If this is true then he is probably coming home. I doubt he will jump to Virginia at such a short notice.. He seems too smart for that. I hope I'm right though.
  4. Holy ****... I have never heard of this kid until I saw the sudden hits to his page on here. I just checked out his tape and wow... This kid a **** good! Stoked about this pick up. We are already a better team for having him.
  5. According to Grothe's Facebook page.. He has a "meeting today that could be good. #nervous #gobulls" Everyone in his comments seem pretty convinced that he is referring to the web coach job. If so what do you think? I personally love it. I would think that Blackwell would get it over Grothe first though. Maybe it's a GA slot? Maybe it's an interview for a truck driving job and we are jumping to conclusions because he still loves his bulls? I don't know man.
  6. Calm down... It's a rebuilding year and your talking about USF needing to "get out of business of sports." Vandy and Kentucky haven't scrapped their sports program. Sit back, have a beer and chill the **** out. Go bulls!
  7. Oh, he knows alright... At the Around The Horns stop in Lakeland we talked to him about it and he understood and agreed that it needs to be done. However, it may have been just politics and just trying to shut us up. I truly hope that he was able to see for himself what an OCS could do for a program just like ours (UCF). A lot of the people on this board are convinced that it will not happen for another 10 years but I have a feeling that it will come soon, at least the announcement and plans that is.
  8. At the UCF game I talked to a family that grew up around UCF football. He was convinced that if USF built an OCS then our atmosphere and school pride would skyrocket immediately just like "ours did" he said. If you were at the UCF game then you have seen the incredible atmosphere that is centered around having the stadium just outside their student union and dorms. The tailgating field is fantastic and their "march to the stadium" is electric, not sad like ours. I'm not trying to jump ship to the dark side by any means, I know it's sounding like it though... I just saw what we could have and I am more convinced now than ever that it is doable and it would change a lot about how the college football community views us. I want the best for USF and I know that we can do it and do it right. Go Bulls!!!
  9. I was expecting the worst having been to the 4 game series (all of them).. I was surprised. The fans were decent and we had a few good conversations. Now... There were some douchebags but all colleges have a few. It seemed to me that the new fans don't have a memory of the series. Or they were too depressed to be towards the end.
  10. I'm not hating on the coach for the hype/billboards/slogans. All of the catching lingo is just the way Taggart conducts himself with the media. You can't fault the guy for what the university does with his image as they are just trying to create some buzz for their product. It is just unfortunate that the school built him up so high and he couldn't quite back it up in his first year. Again, I wouldn't fault the guy for his slogans and buzz around him. Just hope for a better product on the field next year once he can shape this team for the better now that he has a better idea of what he is working with. Go Bulls!
  11. This ^ Go Bulls! Here's to ruining someone's BCS chances! Cheers!
  12. So now that UCF game week is fast approaching I have a problem that I need some help with. I figured TBP would be my best source. There's this UCF alum at my school (I'm a teacher) and she is true blue die-hard that bleeds black and gold... I am planning on a few surprises for her the week before we leave for Thanksgiving Break. For instance, - hit up party city and destroy her classroom with green/gold ribbons, confetti and USF banners (surprisingly, all available at the store). - Paste a print out of Knightro (mascot) on an old dartboard I have and hang it behind her desk at work with dozens of shots already taken. - This week I have all of her kids greeting her with "4 and 0! 4 and 0! 4 and 0!" Last week she had them come to me all week shouting Black and Gold.. Anyways, I need some more ideas... I know some are weak but I need to keep it clean and lighthearted as we work with hundreds of kids. :-) Thanks! Go Bulls! #BeatMemphis
  13. Absolutely doable now. If this wasn't a fluke then it's now an even playing field. Looking at the remaining games, we should be a solid team by UCF and Rutgers.
  14. As I was telling our watch party, just wait until he has a full week with #1's, playing at home and feeling comfortable. Memphis is next in two weeks? It's on. He will be a great qb for us. Just wait. I have never been so excited/pumped up after a loss. Go Bulls!
  15. This. I think that if we can get Shaw back in time for Houston then it will help White out incredibly. Our D needs to stay off the field for at least a few 1st downs to catch their breath. Our D, if rested, could really do so,e damage to an offense as we have seen with UL.
  16. Oh we would have had a zero chance at UL if White started. That is why it had to come at the end after that INT. It was certainly a "drama laden" statement by the coaching staff. Why else would you take out a perfectly healthy 2nd string QB at the end of a blowout? It was certainly not to keep him healthy. Matt Floyd would have been good enough for that. We will have great success at Houston. Just bullieve it and it will be.so the guy with that huge brace on his knee was perfectly healthy to you? And the guy with the knee brace wasn't the 2nd string qb either ... I understand that at one point he was the starter but for the game that day he was our backup qb. That was why I called him our 2nd string qb.
  17. @TBTimes_Bulls: #USF radio guy, @arperlman, "can confirm Steven Bench is fully healthy." ... My conjecture: White's your QB here on out. I was basing my assessment of what healthy meant by this tweet by JK. Even Taggart said in his press that he didn't have to play him. He wanted to. I was basing my post on these pieces of evidence, that's all. I have seen a lot of posts by angry fans demanding to hear his logic in this move. I feel that it was a justified move and doesn't warrant all of this criticism and attacks.

  19. Here's my idea of what happened during Louisville... (not rocket science, just my understanding).. Leading up to the game Taggart has been seeing big strides with White during practices. Every practice he thinks more and more that White could lead this team effectively. Up until Saturday though, Taggart remains commited to Evald/Bench because they seem capable and the best option for us to win. Evald goes down and is probably done for the rest of the season. Bench comes back to the game after missing two games and still cannot quite get the offense together. With only 7 minutes left in the complete annihilation of USF by Louisville, Taggart says I am going to make a statement to the fanbase and the team... "If you can not get your job done, you will be benched. I will go with true freshman any day if they are showing me that they can get the job done." I do not see his move as "desperate" or trying anything to "keep his job" as many fans have suggested. Taggart must believe that White is good enough now to lead the offense and I trust him. I am sure that Taggart would have wanted Mike to start at the beginning of the season but he was just too new to the offense. Taggart would not put a guy in there because he is in panic mode. There have been stories where Taggart was quoted saying that White is making it hard for him to redshirt. I am glad that Taggart is getting Mike ready for success next season by starting him now. The rest of the schedule is doable for a true-freshman QB, with the exception of UCF, which I am hoping MW will be experienced and ready for that defense by then. I guarentee that MW will be a stud by the start of next season. I just pray that he remains healthy so that we can see him progress these last 5 games. With that said, if we are in a situation where we are regretting this decision by 2017, I will be glad and also disturbed. Glad that MW made such an impact that we will miss him, disturbed that we have not recruited quality QBs to follow. Go Bulls!
  20. I couldn't tell what happened from my seat. Did Bench get hurt or did Willie get butt hurt over that INT?
  21. Grant it, I haven't looked at this board in a while BUT didn't we have a couple QB's on the list recently? What happened to them?
  22. I think the UL game will be huge for us. We will have a crap load of fans in the stands. Nothing brings Tampa fans out of the woods like a hot team with a winning-streak. Granted, a small streak but still a streak none-the-less. The added hype in the stands will propel our boys into unbelievable success vs. the Ville. We will rush the field (ala "vs. Louisville 2005) and the newspapers will read "THE BULLS ARE BACK!" One side of me truly believes this. However, my realist side says that we are doomed.
  23. I was talking about this with another table at Beefs today after the win. It is nice to AT THE VERY LEAST switch the curse.. We are now competing within our conference and losing outside of it. For a long time we have experienced success OOC but floundered in conference play. I will take it.
  24. I thought it was funny that UConn's FRESHMAN qb was b******* out the coach over the time-out call. I'll take it though. It was nice to be on the other side of that situation though.
