    Actually... It happens quite a bit. So which coaches stepped down in the past year with a buyout? Tressel resigned at Ohio State and likely received a settlement. Let me clarify. Those stories are from years ago. Since then 1000000 coaches have been fired. Monte Kiffin this week. Obv not a head coach but a resignation nonetheless.

    In the long run, walking away from the buyout money will cost him a lot less than having a "Fired from USF" on his resume.

    On several occassions the Dome was rockin tonight. Tonight was my first game of the season. It was a great experience indeed. AC is a phenomenal ball handler!

    Those are definitely important qualities in professors teaching undergrads.

    Those giant, free online classes offered by schools like MIT, Yale and Stanford are called Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). Some schools are considering offering credit for these courses. Interesting read here: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/14/education/moocs-to-be-evaluated-for-possible-college-credit.html?_r=0 To my knowledge, USF doesn't offer free online courses but I've seen some free audio lectures in iTunes.

    I grew up in Merritt Island. I saw so many Shuttle launches I used to sleep through some. Dumb me!

    Good post. After independently studying economics for some time now, I'm still on the fence about the minimum wage. On 1 hand, it provides employees with a minimally acceptable standard of living. On the other hand, it discourages employment in economic situations where market conditions aren't willing to pay the minimum wage.

    Southern Miss wasn't ranked in the pre-season. I think we'd probably lose on the road to at least half of the teams ranked 75-99.

    You bring up a great point about Woolard believing in him, or being too stubborn. In either case his job becomes more in jeopardy if Holtz is retained. +1

    After FSU, I thought we'd finish 7-5. After Temple, I knew we'd finish 3-9 at best. IMO we have no chance against Pitt. I'll still be in attendance though :/
