  1. He isn't done. Just too expensive for the Chiefs to keep. I'm sure there will be plenty of interest in him, just likely for less than $14 million per year.
  2. True story, that one was a complete surprise to me. Like I knew before the press conference, but maybe by just a little bit. I don't think the news leaked out much on that one.
  3. While I didn't say that. I will say this. Change is coming, and USF has put itself in a very good position to benefit from the upcoming change.
  4. I do think the ranking is important in a particular scenario. Lets say we win our next 4-5 games, but lose in the tournament. I think the ranking impacts the committee for at large. The other thing, I want as much national attention to USF, as it can help us with upcoming realignment. Obviously, we gotta beat Charlotte for any of this conversation to matter.
  5. We have some top notch head coaches right now. Many of them will have opportunities to leave. We are also going to be upgrading our conference affiliation relatively soon. If we can do the later sooner, we can tell our coaches, you don't have to leave to go to a P4, we are making your job a P4 job.
  6. All good, I really think their MBB run is ending, and I am expecting Dusty to switch jobs this off season.
  7. The last time I was at a FAU game in Boca in MBB, the attendance was 8 (yes, me plus 7 other people) ..... they started drawing recently. I just don't want anyone who doesn't know them to think they have been filling that building for years. In reality, it has been less than 2 years.
  8. They normally hype up the release date at least a day or two in advance, so the lack of noise means not today.
  9. 12 as a AQ is respect, where we were almost good enough to get in without the AQ, as the at larges run out around the 11 seed.
  10. Here to eat crow. Weeks ago I said no way we sell out the noon game against FAU. I thought a noon start would be too hard to overcome. Glad to be wrong, and owning it here. (I don't remember what thread I said it in)
  11. There was already a lot of traction for the ACC and Big 12, the Big 10 is gaining traction.
  12. Agree in general. But something like a GOR can impact timelines. We don't actually know how they will hold up in court yet. And, SEC may simply want a second FL school to combat Big 10, in my made up scenario, and pick us over C.
  13. I said extreme long shot. Just a possible, but unlikely, scenario.
  14. While I am at it, if you want to help USF's future: 1. Go to games (all sports). 2. Donate to the Bulls Club. 3. Contribute to NIL like Fowler Ave. 4. Wear USF gear. 5. Follow all the USF official accounts on social media, and interact (postively) with them. 6. If you live in Florida, have the State USF license plate on your car. 7. Visit campus. 8. Encourage others to support USF. 9. Repeat steps 1-8.
  15. By the way, the SEC, which is an extreme longshot, would be a scenario like this: ACC shatters. Big 10 takes FSU and Miami. Big 12 looking at USF, and SEC takes USF to block Big 12, as they don't want to be behind both Big 12 and Big 10 in Florida. That is the most unlikely scenario, but the chances are greater than 0%.
  16. Let's say one of two things happen: Big 10 Presidents stick to wanting AAU or FSU goes to SEC. Big 10 wants into Florida. USF at a 50% payout that builds over time may be the move. USF and Miami may be the move. ACC GOR stands, Big10 wants in now, USF may be the move. Here is where I think we will end up (under the assumption we make a move): ACC 45% Big 12 30% Big 10 20% SEC 5% Big 10 is down the list, but it is very much in play.
  17. I deputize everyone on this board to share all the positives of USF to as many people as you possibly can. Changes are coming, and we want to make sure our name is out there.
  18. I want to stress I am not speaking for USF. I cannot stress that enough.
  19. There is one more scary thought. Does NC politicians pressure ACC to take ECU.
  20. Here is where it gets scary. ACC just added 3 teams. If they lose 4 teams, what if they decide to just add 1. If they add 1, who are the contenders: USF, UConn, Tulane, West Coast team. UConn offers big time basketball and fits into their traditional footprint. USF offers football potential and fits into their traditional footprint. Tulane give SMU some company and bridges that geographic divide. West Coast bolsters their presense as a nationwide conference. (I didn't break down the options, but the PAC 2 schools or San Diego State are most likely)
  21. FSU sure complains a lot about their choice to be in the ACC and take slightly less money. (I know the gap will be getting larger)
  22. There is one part that worries me. Will students show up at noon? (they never have before, noon games have always be bad student attendance)
  23. FYI - did that back in December. It was a cyber security decision to not carry everyone for life, as it gave too many access points to the network. (I am probably explaining it poorly, as this is out my my area of expertise, but that is my understanding).
