I don't have any pics, but here are some of my observations:
Walking down to the field, I spoke with Lamar. He is really excited to get back to his position.
There were four players that really jumped out at me.
- I'm thinking that Ruben Gonzalez being ahead of Welch on the spring depth chart had more to do with Gonzalez's performance than Welch underperforming. He caught everything that came at him tonight.
- Lamar looked great with the ball in his hands. No running plays, but he got plenty of short passes thrown his way. Once he touched the ball, he was gone. Kinda what you would expect from a guy like him without pads. Made some good cuts too.
- On the defensive side, Lanaris played well. He had an interception, maybe two. His aggression stood out to me. It helped him make some good stops.
- Webster's leadership showed on every play. Whether he was on the field or on the sidelines, he was constantly helping the other defensive backs read the offense.
Sean Price didn't play. He was there, but observed the entire scrimmage with Hawkins in the backfield. I overheard Hawkins giving Price pointers as they walked by.
I don't think that there's anyway that Floyd is our second string QB. Eveld looked much better tonight. Floyd was very hesitant and held onto the ball way too long. BJ's accuracy was great.
And to brag a little: After the game, BJ called everyone to huddle up. When they broke the huddle, all of the players came over to my fiance and I to thank us for coming out and being season ticket holders.
There was a total of 7 fans there with only me and my fiance standing on the sidelines with the players. The others watched at a distance.
