  1. In their coach's defense, that was a horrible call. Laura tripped herself up and the ref called a foul. Houston's player wasn't within a yard. Of course they made up for it toward the end of the game when they called a foul on Kit when the Houston player was shooting a 3. Kit didn't get close to her. She leaned forward and then backed away. And I was wondering the same thing on the timeouts. Trying to save them for the tournament? Don't think it will work that way.
  2. I was actually proud of our fans. It was almost as if they knew the team needed a lift and after the media timeout in the 2nd quarter it was as loud as the Ohio State game. Our team fed off of it and Houston started to feel some pressure and their shots weren't even close in that stretch. It was a blast. A new guy has joined the Bulls Club staff and saw him at halftime briefly. He seemed impressed with the atmosphere. One comment on the officiating. One of Houston's girls carried the ball almost every time. I mean, put your hand on the bottom of the ball and turn it over kind of carrying. Not, maybe its on the bottom half of the side of the ball carrying, but out and out carrying. Didn't get called once.
  3. I may be wrong but I think Jose feels this is "his" program, like Leavitt thought football was his. He and his family have pretty strong ties to this area. I hope he stays. He's got double or triple the bourbon collection I have so need him to stick around so I can try them.
  4. I don't know about this. That sure looks like an FSU colored wall.
  5. The only Olympic event I've seen this year. Almost gave it away in the 9th (sounds like USF baseball).
  6. Brad, I hadn't read your initial post and was going to post warning people. There are plenty of open seats so you won't actually have to sit next to me.
  7. I can't remember a time when we ever did that. We've been around since '03. Remember Andre Hall getting stopped more and more as the season went along and teams game planned for him. We'll need a passing game to keep teams honest since I don't see any QB making lemonade out of lemons like Q did.
  8. Pretty sure he pitched in a game v UNC, maybe came in to relieve Shane and gave up a 3 run bomb???
  9. Back when we were in the BE, we sold alcohol as did L'ville. Know Rutgers did not.
  10. They obviously didn't win them at USF so why aren't you on their message boards? Or maybe you are. Which teams did they win with?
  11. I had picked up a BJ Daniels autographed helmet at an auction. At one of the preseason events at the Dome I picked up signatures from the current QBs at the time (Bench,White & Flowers) and Matt G was around and signed it as well.
  12. She's hurt and probably done for the season. She hasn't played significant minutes all year.
  13. This team is only as good or bad as the next shooting hot streak or cold spell.
  14. Same here. Get well soon - both of you. This getting older stuff is not for the faint of heart.
  15. My guess it is Ned (screen name) since he had moved to Hawaii. That is as close to Paradise as you can get. He claims he's been around for a long time so don't think he has a daughter on the team. I've met Rader's parents and they seem normal so ruling them out. How many other kids are on the team and not getting playing time? Most are not playing because of injury or red shirting.
  16. As long as we only lose to UConn (regular season and conference tournament) that should be about right. If we lose any other game(s) it will probably be a bit lower (or is it higher).
  17. Forgot to mention one particular shot by Christian. Believe it was the 9th, a par 4. Hit his 2nd shot over the green by maybe 2 - 3 yards. The ball was in the rough and green sloped downhill toward the front of the green and to his right from where he was. Pin was about 10' from the back of the green. If he chips it there is no way to stop the ball anywhere close to the cup. He lines up and putts it way left. The ball hangs up in the rough but then makes another rotation, and after another second, another. Finally picks up some momentum, rolls onto the green and left himself about a 4 footer which he made for par. One of those rare things we were lucky enough to witness. Also on the 14th we saw 2 opposing players chip in from off the green in back to back swings.
  18. Hope you are right. Definitely need both of them healthy.
  19. Well, we made it back yesterday afternoon from Gainesville. Every time it seemed we were getting in a groove things went south. Christian had a real good round going in the 2nd round and doubled a par 3. At one point we were standing at the 14th green/15th tee box and saw Pri and Kyle miss short birdie putts. Yesterday at the 18th the first 3 guys bogeyed and took some really good putting by Christian and and a nice chip by Claudio to par. Coach seemed happy overall to come in 3rd. Vandy just shot lights out. I didn't watch any of the Florida players and just followed their scores. Get them off of their own course and I think we have a shot at them. The two teams that finished ahead of us are ranked higher than us. We've beaten Arkansas twice now so if they are still ranked higher after this tournament it is just P5 bias. The weather was gorgeous both days. There was no fog up there to delay the start times. Play was crazy slow. They play in 3somes and it took 10.5 hours to play both rounds on Saturday. No break between rounds. The course looked to be in nice shape and greens were lightning quick. Chris Dimarco coached the 2nd round on Saturday similar to what happened up in Jacksonville a couple of weeks ago. Claudio was at 8 under and leading by himself but threw in a couple of bogeys on the back yesterday. But he is a really good player. The kid Lee that was supposed to come to USF but went to Florida shot a +5 I believe. We had one kid, Erik Souchak, a Fr. play as an individual in his first collegiate tournament. Admitted that he was bit nervous and ended up at +18.
  20. He is a football coach and left USF a while back.
  21. I've never blocked anyone on here as I enjoy differing opinions. But as Mike and True said this is just feeling odd. Like he's the guy that didn't get the head coaching job because CJF beat him out for it.
  22. Kit Laksa threw out the first pitch. She hand never held a baseball until last night from what I was told. Threw a 55 foot fastball.
  23. What a great game tonight. Had to be close to 2,000 people. Hundreds of UNC fans came out. Shane still struggles to find the zone but he has great stuff. Probably 20 scouts there, maybe more. Nice to see a Fr get some hits at the bottom of the lineup. Wearing Merrills number and lived up to it for the first game.
