  1. So, I believe our own NAS has said he's had 2 daughters win a national championship. I've been searching and can't come up with much. I found this but it seems too recent http://www.sunjournal.com/womens-basketball-reynolds-sisters-are-double-trouble-for-cmccs-opponents/. Since he his hesitant to tell us which team they played for I'm wondering if any of you computer guys can come up with possibilities. Immaculata College comes to mind but can't find rosters. I don't think Katie Lou Samuelson's sister has won a NC and would hope her parents aren't on the Bullspen. There were sisters on a 1943 AAU national champion but don't think Ned is that old. https://books.google.com/books?id=R0rCTsqz18oC&pg=PA54&lpg=PA54&dq=have+there+ever+been+sisters+who+have+won+a+women's+basketball+national+championship?&source=bl&ots=VNF222BVMV&sig=HyYysAnpmilJFEYP6mnwryywFBw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj21obM7tPZAhUrc98KHbYIAyw4ChDoAQguMAE#v=onepage&q=have there ever been sisters who have won a women's basketball national championship%3F&f=false Here are two that won an AAU national championship. https://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/story/sports/2015/07/29/national-champion-hand-sisters-bring-basketball-aptitude-marist/30863211/ We need Stat Boy from PTI on this one.
  2. Yet has a better chance of making the NFL than QF.
  3. Let's assume he isn't being picked to be a QB. Is that time good enough for teams to want to take a look at him at RB or slot receiver? That time doesn't show his elusiveness. He was never the fastest guy on the field but dang he could make people miss.
  4. Did anyone else receive an email regarding the women's selection show? In it, we are invited to watch at the 5/3 Bank Arena Club. So at least one part of the Dome has received naming rights.
  5. Just the U is fine for those familiar with USF. But if they are trying to put a brand out there for others to see I'm not sure the U is enough. And this is what the marketing people will have to decide, What is enough?
  6. We were graced by a celebrity watching the game last night. Sitting in front of us was former manager of the Braves Bobby Cox. Didn't realize who he was until some kids came up to get his autograph and my wife noticed he had a Braves belt on. Then it hit me. Just listening in to his comments my wife heard him say he was impressed with his first inning but not as much with some of the others. Don't know if he was there looking for the Braves but the kid he was with said they were there to see Shane and they left when Shane was pulled. It has been a pretty cool week as the USA women's hockey team was 2 suites from us at the Lightning game the other night. And looks like we'll get to see Tiger Woods on Thursday at the Valspar.
  7. Imagine if we had consistent logos throughout the system. J/K.
  8. Just a thought. How much money do you spend on rebranding when the school is doing so well (scholastically) without spending that extra money. As someone above said, if our sports teams win we'll get to be known in the sports world. But I don't see our logo changing the minds of people investing money in the research grants. Making the logo the same throughout shouldn't be an expensive thing to deal with. Using the iconic U with SF in there somewhere is fine by me.
  9. Go back to work. You have no time for this nonsense.
  10. Not going to the AAC tournament. First round of NCAA will depend on location. Got up to Tally last year.
  11. The way its been explained to me is that there are two major trains of thought in fundraising; transactional and relationship. Current administration is of the former mentality - land a few whales and don't worry too much about the little fish. Iron Bulls are now divided into 3 categories 10K, 25K and either 50 or 100K. 10K are pretty much considered little fish now.
  12. Talked with Jeff a bit more yesterday. He says he wants to be here a long time being from the area. Anyone who stays here more than 2 years will build some relationships and help the fundraising. the relationships we've had with past staff is what got us to our current donor level; people like Eric, Joe, Mark M, Ryan, Shelley and Marcy. The constant turnover kills fundraising IMO.
  13. That doesn't take away from the contributions and leadership the past 2 years from these 2. And wasn't it Stringfield?
  14. I'm one of those guys that yells at them. But I also compliment them when appropriate. Sat on the floor at a men's game and there was an inbounds play right in front of me with a time out. Told the ref that they were calling a good game. Didn't expect the reply I got. He said, "Wait until the 2nd half". Pretty funny stuff.
  15. Other than John Lewis the longest tenured employee probably has about 2 years with USF. Todd has also been there a while but he's more a behind the scenes guy. And you are correct, it does seem to be worse under the current administration.
  16. Not in the sense of win - loss since we won. But it wasn't the best officiated game ever. And they missed a couple against USF. There was one play when one of ours (maybe Kit) pushed off to get her shot off. Shocked they didn't make that call.
  17. She'll appreciate that. And it is very true. Of course the same can be said of your bride vs you.
