  1. Game 1 of the 1997 season; we were eliminated from bowl contention because we were IAA
  2. All he needs is 1 more win and he'll be tied with CJS for total career wins.
  3. Oh, is that what they meant? They keep saying "questionable playcalling" so much I thought it was the name of a transfer player I hadn't heard of yet.
  4. Houston: Scores TD on wide-open USF D Ref: Calls back TD due to holding penalty. Houston:
  5. Coming up: Houston pulls away in the second and third as our offense doesn't keep up the pace. We score a couple garbage TDs in the fourth to within 14 and call it another moral victory.
  6. Nah. CJS already got rewarded for losing with an extension -- he probably thinks this is what VPMK wants.
  7. After listening to Trickett ramble for two minutes without saying anything, our offensive issues are starting to make more sense...
  8. You forgot the biggest one: In 2014, Rocky won the Capital One Mascot Challenge.
  9. I want him gone, but I guess if I had to make a case, I think we are showing improvement even in spite of the injuries. I've been surprised in a few games where I thought we were going to get blown out. However, we can't close out games. This 'competitive but not quite there yet' business is where we should be in Year 2, not end of Year 3. We should be no worse than the 5 - 6 win mark this year. Mark Harlan, after CWT went 2 wins and 4 wins in his first two seasons said USF should be in a bowl game Year 3 and Taggart was on the hot seat. With a healthy team, CJS might actually be there and I have a nagging feeling he'll probably be there next year, especially since the conference will be much weaker in '23. I really don't want to start over because I think we'll have some talent transfer out, but 4 wins in 27 games and some real head scratching losses/game management decisions is really hard to overlook.
  10. Masiello went 102-138 (0.425) since we attempted to hire him. We are 89-160 (0.357) under COA and CBG. We dodged a bullet and stepped in front of a cannon.
  11. Sorry, Scott's probably got his eye on some kid in Michigan or South Carolina. No time to go all the way to Pasco.
  12. Leavitt failed to recruit from the crucial talent rich areas of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and North/South Carolina? No wonder that bum is gone.
  13. Slow down there, hoss. Gotta win an FBS game thats not Temple first.
  14. The 2018 Gasparilla Bowl was probably up there for me. Sprung for club-level tickets and special gear only to be down to Marshall 7-28 and watch two teams combine for less than 500 yards in the rain.
  15. Very true. Three full seasons is an appropriate time to make a decision on the future of your coaches job. Most college football teams wouldn't an extend a 3-18 coach after 1.75 seasons. After two years and a 6-18 record, Mark Harlan stated publicly to the media: “This university’s too special to not have a team in a bowl game. There’s other measurables I’m excited about. I like our recruiting, I like what we’re doing off the field, I like what we’re doing in the classroom. But certainly we need to win more football games. We should be going to a bowl game in Year Three." Kelly took the opposite approach and offered an extension and said that patience would pay off. No sense of urgency, no expectations set. It feels more like he's just along for the ride. This is why I'm more critical and less inclined to give a break than I otherwise would be. I want Scott to succeed, but he needs to win something. He needs to show us something and turn it around now. He has fewer wins than any other USF coach did at this point in their tenure. He has fewer wins than any FBS coach hired in 2019 or 2020. From a winning percentage perspective, we have regressed more than any other team who has fired their coaches since we fired Strong. We are doing worse than any other team so I'm going to be continuously critical of Scott until he shows otherwise because this football program is bigger than Coach Scott.
