  1. Hope we throw in some wrinkles. It's also hard to plan for our O as we're not one-dimensional, though we are run heavy. How has SC done against the run?
  2. Thinking they must have already lined up the replacement they wanted if they are doing it this late.
  3. It was before the original went MIA, but still meant for trolling. Think it's a pegasus troll if I remember right.
  4. Rank and momentum from the prior year plays a role too. That's why I really hope they have a game plan to cover the concerns I mentioned above. If people were ccs I wonder what steps, if any, people would take to help the team game plan for this bowl?
  5. What makes this bowl more of a must-win is the impact it will have on next year's ranking. We need all the help we can get with our schedule next year.
  6. Wow that guy needs to play next to Flowers and then take the torch after next year.
  7. I was going to say, I hope we put in some new wrinkles. Nothing too complicated that requires a lot of new things to remember, clever twists on the tried and true. And I hope we game plan for their O.
  8. We lost both our OC and HC USC will have plenty of time to game plan for our O Our D showed improvement the second half of the season, but still has a ways to go We have seen in last year's bowl and this year's first few games that our O gets rusty with time off and needs time to gel For these reasons I think this game will be a struggle.
  9. Ask pre-Saban Alabama or any other school that can pull in top classes on brand alone whether coaches matter. It's actually more the opposite I think. A great coach can win with less physical talent .
  10. We averaged 37k this year, that's the same or better than BE 2005 & 2006 before our 2007 run.
  11. Think 10 wins against the teams we beat isn't enough to generate the momentum. I think if we had beaten FSU and gained momentum, including from the media, that would have done the trick. We didn't see our attendance go up in the Big East until after being ranked number 2 in the 2007 season. If I remember right there were even threads in the BE years prior to that complaining about attendance.
  12. Hadn't thought about it like that. Either that or the recruit followers have all found a better past time. I've never seen the board like this, even pre-BE.
  13. Woulard and Cherry should free up a couple spots.
  14. Anyone have a good idea of how many 2017 spots we have left? You can hear the crickets over here on the recruiting board.
  15. What balances the autobid out is the ranking bias for the P5. If the G5 team is 0 or 1 loss, who is to say they shouldn't be ranked higher in the first place and did actually earn it?
  16. Don't think so. We have the most talented offense that we've ever had. And I'm not talking about their current productivity, I'm talking about their ratings and potential coming in. Our recruiting level hasn't changed much since the Big East days and is much better than it was in Blackwell's day.
  17. Usually agree with you BA, but I think there is a coaching factor to missing tackles or not executing. A coach can impart energy, passion, and focus to the players that can help them execute. Hard to do that from the box, but I'm sure he's up there because he needs to be able to see and learn. It probably wouldn't produce a different result if here were on the sideline, but who knows.
  18. Probably somewhat still lagging the team culture change and still needing more hype. Not till we had the hype of the 2007 season did we see the attendance trend up the following year. We asked some of these same attendance questions and fan quality questions up to 2007. Remember those days when it seemed half or more of the fans wouldn't even wear team colors and it was hard to find gear in local stores? We thought BE membership would equate to instant attendance and recruiting impact and it didn't. The full effects of winning take time
  19. He is a mobile QB, but we neutralized him. Burnt us a little last year if I remember right.
  20. On the other hand, his quick strike offense has the offense doing fewer than average plays per game, so they should probably be thanking him.
  21. An opportunity to run those plays in a live game when for some reason we have been having trouble connecting and maybe bring confidence and momentum into the next game is worth it.
