    I think you're right. I was thinking about it a little more after my last post and came to the same conclusion.

    It's a numbers game, some will pan out and some will not. The fact that there are no 4+ stars to pan out or not is the piece that's somewhat disappointing.

    I think Taggart was able to do a better job when he first came in, even with the team coming off of losing seasons. He had two four stars in his first class.

    I can understand. His approach to recruiting is developing a real and honest relationship with the person. I could see where throwing a party to celebrate might in some way detract from that.

    That guess is as good as mine. Sounds a little sketchy, though. Pure speculation, but it also sounds like something you would say to cut loose someone who wasn't acting solid and wasn't high on the new staff's list. Have to think they would honor the commits from the prior staff as long as they were solid.

    Not uncommon to make a silent verbal. Kids that don't want to make a big fanfare out of it or want it to be a surprise to the public. Half of the hat games on signing day are probably also this.

    True, no 5*s right out of high school, only the three that were transfers.

    Ford and JPP were rated 5* on some services.

    Think Darrell Scott was the last 5* we had on the roster. #1 at his position on some services coming out of high school.

    That's what has me curious about how this new staff is going to shift things around and get what they feel are the best players on the field for the defense they want to run. Who knows, we may see some guys pop where we didn't realize they had it in them.

    Darnell Salomon Little more out of McCants, Wilcox and Dillon. Need someone to fill Adams' shoes. Will be interesting to see how much CCS shifts things around on D.

    Could be a must-execute mentality of the opposing team - USF is going to score so the only hope we have is to execute and score. It's been brought up during the season as probably having a little bit to do with the really poor defensive stats. By no means letting them off the hook, we clearly have big issues, but it's probably a little bit of a factor in there.

    Not just that but it can carry momentum into the rankings next year, which we really need help with

    A great example is when the D starts sneaking up to stop the run and we sometimes hit the TE streaking up the middle. Slightly higher or tweaked use of plays like that where we already have confidence executing seem like a solid wrinkle.
