    hope they offer shannon good money the first year with the understanding that the next year they add the $300K from Cosh to his pay. If he doesn't like this, tells me he only wants to be one-and-done at USF. Not sure that is what is best for the program in the long run.

    B10 has already demonstarted that they are willing to bend/break their longstanding traditions if it suits there current/future needs. They could easily decide that there best option for the future is to take USF/UCF combo and put one FL team in each division. Secures each school at least a bi-annual trip to the state in which the majority of their wealthy alumni reside.

    This. Take a look around, everyone is reporting that this was the best hire in the country. There's a reason for that. We had similar press when we hired Skip. Lets hope they are right. I think there was a difference in that the CSH hire was seen as a good logical hire, whereas the CWT hire is seen as an inspired hire.

    TV dollars. We don't have big TV dollars now. If we get stuck going back to C-USA or Sun Belt we'd go from $5-10mil per year to about $1-2mil per year. Independent would be worse. Try paying even Willie Taggart and anything resembling a decent staff on that. Just speculation but I very much doubt we'd ever officially go back to C-USA or Sun Belt. We're far more likely to keep the Big East name in a reformulated/restructured conference consisting of full membership or football only schools, including some or all of our recent additions.. I'm not sure this is true. If western schools return to MWC, the BE is dead without basketball schools.
