  1. I just want to point out something McCullum should be very proud of. it is easy to point out the negatives in his career at Usf simply because he was not winning. On a positive note, solomon Jones STARTED on Wednesday night for the Atlanta Hawks and they pulled out a rare victory. Sol played 23 minutes, scored 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal. He went 2-4 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line. Tonight he didnt get the start (marvin williams #2 or 3 pick is back) but was the first man off the bench and came in pretty quickly. That is very impressive for a rookie drafted in the 2nd round. Mac recruited and helped develop his career, which eventually got him drafted and a job in the nba, which IMO is the toughest sport to make it in due to only have 12 players on an active roster and only the best of the best make it. Job well done Mac and Solomon.
  2. Joe, how feasible would it be to grab Theus? What do they pay him?
  3. I noticed that too. Though, it is correct in the actual article. This story was the top headline on Mens college Bball on espn.com
  4. USFan, as much as I would love to have Dawkins here, there isnt a chance. He will be taking over for Coach k when he decides to retire. I wish we could have him though.
  5. I, Herman Momart sign my Herbie Hancock on that document as well. But it is only for a season or two you said. If we only have 4 conference wins going into the 3rd season, heads may start rolling again. Just giving you fair warning.
  6. Matt Dougherty, Tom Pecora, Carl Hobbs, Quinn Snyder, Jim Harrick (j/k trip), Fran Fraschilla, Steve Lavin, Anthony Grant, Chris Collins, Steve Wojohowski (sp), Reggie Theus, Scott Sutton, Gregg Marshall, Herman momart (they said they are taking all application) anyone but Mike Jarvis....please!!
  7. Farewell Mr McCullum. We wish you the best in your future. Time to start over. Go BULLS!!!
  8. I talk about the Big East tournament all the time and how upsetting it is we didnt make it.  I used to go to them when i was a kid.  It is the best conference tournament of them all and we are the only team in our conference to not make it.  Sad great game on right now. Louisville vs west virginia in double overtime. ÂÂ
  9. St. Johns has been dealing with ncaa violations and has lost schoarships. They have Roy Williams' biggest recruiter, norm roberts, as a head coach now. He is cleaning up Mike Jarvis' mess and odd recruiting strategy. Jarvis is the reason new york city talent now goes to UCONN, Pitt, Louisville, Nova and everywhere else in the country besides St johns. High school coaches in nyc wouldnt even let him in their gyms. dont worry about st johns they have history and respect amongst its big east peers. We do not.
  10. I think syracuse wore those last night. Without the "we must protect this house" under armor.
  11. Whatever happened to Collin Dennis? Oh yea i remember....
  12. There seems to be an awful lot of posters with single digit number counts spewing the same old tired rhetoric ....  : They remind me of a younger Herman Momart, when I only had a few posts. A hurt and disappointed bulls fan looking for any outlet or some source of medium to show their dissatisfaction of the debacle that has become usf basketball. Preach on my friend, dont let the BULLies chase you away from the site. Let them know what the students and fans REALLY think about our coach and program.
  13. Noone has a personal vendetta with Robert mccullum.  For myself I have been to most of the home games since his tenure here and I have seen plenty of evidence, bad basketball and losing to know what his job status should be and i didnt evn have to wait until the end of last season to notice that.  If Coach K was on those sidelines the last 4 years, with that record and that lack of competitiveness, you absolutely fire him.  If jim Leavitt lost 4 years in a row, you pony up the cash and fire him.  I think 4 years of losing is plenty of time to assess that things arent going well. (btw he lost in CUSA and the BE, so he wasnt prepared for either conference) If jim Leavitt had the same coaching skills as mac we would lose to UCF every year.  Wonder how may of our fans would say keep him then.  I still dont think USF fans realize the Big east is a BASKETBALL conference, not a football one (the big Least in football).  i didnt make that up Sorry gotta go its 7pm, the Big East basketball conference on on ESPN.  Turn it on.  THAT COULD BE US!!! IMAGINE THAT!
  14. Big East tourney is on right now, UCONN/Syracuse. I wonder how Woolard feels sitting with his fellow conference AD's knowing his team once again didnt make MSG and is now the only team in the BE to not ever play at MSG (not even vs st johns, play them in queens). Has to hurt a sucessful mans pride somewhat. And what does he have to look forward to? Mac is out on the road with his rental car and road map recruiting kids who know his career is on the ropes, he is basically a no name, his track record at every school and conference he played is is sub par, fans do not support him, etc. etc. etc. Either fire him already, or at least, as much as i hate to say it, give him an extension so we recruit for the next few years. Something needs to be done to show we want to win. Or we can just sit in limbo, continue lsong and make excuses about money, how he cant recruit with no contract, needing signifigant improvements, how good out conferece foes are, etc. etc. etc. Do something!!
  15. This part of the season hurts the most, maybe even more than the losing. The big east tournament is one of the greatest conference tournaments you can ever go to. Im sure lots of us would make it up there for that, i know i would.
  16. Though i agree it was a bad season and not much of an improvement, we really cant call it a down year in the big east anymore. Sure there isnt the powerhouse like UCONN and Nova last year but the big east may get 8 teams in the NCAA tournament this year. Which would be tops of any conference.
  17. I'm not completely convinced yet... Cmon, Trip.  Does he need to say "If this dog dont hunt, pull this turkey" for you to be 100% convinced good observation by both of you
  18. Didnt they play in conference usa with us? Some dumb people over there.
  19. I dont know guys, but sitting mcHugh Mattis on his last basketball game as a bull .  I dont like it, especially after all he has done for mac and us.  I sincerely hope there was a good reason and it wasnt a case of mac not wanting to swallow some pride.  We will never really know the reason.  I also keep hearing that we shouldnt let him go unless we are going to pony up some real cash for a real coach.  Personally, and im sure a lot feel the same, i think you can bring in another coach at the same salary with no name and it can only get better.  Maybe, just maybe, mac isnt as good as a coach as some of you think.  Maybe, i know it may be off the wall, but mac's record really reflects his coaching ability.  I know its reeaalll far fetced, but maybe. (i hope you can sense sarcasm).  my gut feeling say that woolard is not a liar and the improvement obviously was not enough and he will make the change.  My question is will it be on Monday or Tuesday?
  20. Its wishful thinking and i have it too, but we say that every year with the same results. Mac has yet to show his critics or supporters he can win, with or without talent. it is just an idea and style of basketball he is selling us. Most of us are sick of the idea and want to see some tangible results, like wins.
  21. It may be safe to say at this pace he may end up being the best player we ever had at USF. Someone was telling me they read some story about how LSU would do anything to get him back. He will be a force in teh big east next year. hopefully we can give him some support
