He recruited the guy, he panned out to be a lot better than he should, made it pretty far in the tourney and now is in the NBA. One single guy stands for a lot of Macs success. I just hope he can hit the jackpot again. We need a stud! I believe the stud should be the coach and then other studs (players) will want to surround him. Velcro, I give the team credit for keeping it close with Nova. I give them credit for keeping it close with WVA too. It is just that when we are the only team in the power conferences without a conference win and ESPN says the BE would be the best if it wasnt for USF. It kind of hurts. You do not know this about me but I was the guys ta every USF game when they were empty and we were playing UAB, or UNC CHarlotte, etc. I have the upmost respect for the university and everything being done to improve it. Bull94 blame it on everyone except the coach. You know how you get students and alumni to donate and attend games. You put a product out on the florr that can at least compete. If MAC is such a great man, like you claim wouldnt u think some alum would invest in him. I know a retired professor at USF from when I worked at Tampa Palms. We spoke USF bball all the time. The main reason he only contributed for his seats and nothing else was the product and the coach. At the time it was Seth Greenburg and The USF missed free throws, but still I know he would not contribute to this bum. Velcro - are you going to tell me if Allen Ray (St. Raymonds, Bronx NY seen him play with Julius Hodge in the same backcourt) did play we wouldnt get stomped. Chris Sumpter is hurt as well for Nova. They may play their best players but in their minds its like a scrimmage game, noone get hurt. Jason Fraser played minimal minutes and was def. taking it easy onhis knees (9 surgeries). Yes I watched the game. Nova played bad but knew they were going to beat us. WVU, didnt watch that game, but heard it was the ugliest WVU ever played. Believe me it was not our defense. Which accomplished what? when he came to a respected conference USA (i use respected in that its more competitive to whatever conference CMU is in) how far did he go in the tourney??? How bout this year now that we are in the Big East?? How far did he go? Has he won a game in the Big East this year? The other night I hear a stat about how the Big East had the bet winning percentage in the whole country. After the comment, they immediately answered with a joke about South Florida and how they are holding the conference down. Is that embarassing to you? When we lose to DePaul (which is the only shot to a BE win) will that be bad? We def. do not have a campus life like Duke. In fact, our campus life in non-existent. We are a commuter school in a city. I went to USF and never hung out on campus once. Bottom line is the kids knows he most likely will not go professional, so it comes down to, Do I want to get my education at USF (The Harvard of Hillsborough) or Duke (which name alone speaks for itself). You would do the same!

I just want to thank the big east officials for only allowing 12 teams in the Big east tournament. This will keep us from watching scrub games like USF play Depaul, Louisville, ND, etc. in meaningful times. As a big advocate of the Big East my whole life, I knew it was going to be catastropic to our program to enter. You need to come prepared to play in the Big East. Look at all the conference USA teams that are in the Big east now, all garbage. Three teams that will most likely not make the B.E. tourney will be Louisville, USF (of course, we like to regress) and Depaul. All 3 are from the powerhouse conference USA. And we all know Louisville is about a light year ahead of us when it comes to programs and they can't even win games in the conference. So what do we have to look forward to? 1) finishing this horrible excuse for a season. 2) firing Mac, not now but right now!!! 3) people on this site making excuses 4) USF Football 5) Ari's threads and comments (hilarious though sometimes vulgar) 6) Maybe making the NIT tournament next year. 7) Maybe making the NCAA tournament in 10 years (the way we move as a program. I agree, The service was kind of old. They need some young USF girls in there and some drink specials. The food was good, I mean no worse or better than Rockys or the Greenery. I will def. support the place but in my opinion its all about location location location. It is basically not even USF area it is more suitcase city. Its is seconds from the flea market. Not a great area. How about a bar on the corner of Bruce B downs and Fletcher where the Hardees used to be. I would go, I mean all we can do as USF students is go to Peabodys, Greenery and Tias. And all of those places are pretty sad. Anyone a rich kid who can get their dad to put up some money. I will make it studio 5r4 within weeks. Ari, Reuban and Larry are all invited.

That might be the 10,000th time I heard that story as well. The closest I ever been to the USF golf team is when i took Golf class at USF> I beat the record for the most direct hits into the village , where the athletes used to live by where you buy your parking passes. I used to have the wickedest slice, they used to call me Bananlucci. I almost killed half of our class like 4 times. The teacher (i forget his name, really cool guy was missing a few didgits on the hand) told me there was no chance in hell I would ever be any good at golf. Gave me a P for pass and told me he would never forget my baseball swing banana slice. Worse than Jackie Masons in caddy shack!! Those were the days.
