  1. You figure out a good name for the sight -- design it -- And I will personally fund it. I am sure Reub and Herman will throw some cash in on it as well. Plus -- we will bring a big sheet to the rutgers and Uconn game and show it during the game. Its a deal. I am dead serious -- put something together and we will pay the money to host the site. If you are serious -- just hit me up at LongDongDong@gmail.com -- I will get you my personal info and we can get this thing going. "Nothing is more dangerous then a man with some hope and a cause." i think we have both
  2. It's nice to see some fresh faces support our argument.  We have no problem laying the foundation for this belief. You must admire us -- we (ari, reub, herm) were some the of the first ones to bring this belief to the table.  its starting to get some legs.  It makes me feel good. No matter what --- in a democracy - one voice can make a huge difference.  Even if Bulliever in the gang keep changing my name -- keep deleting my posts --- THE LDD WILL RISE AGAIN!!! HAHAHA
  3. I am a jew. Part of the choosen few. You should byy my divineness. Shalom
  4. A team that has made the tourny 3 of the last 4 years -- a team that beat USF by almost 20 points this year. A team that finished ahead of USF in Con USA just about every year. A team that has a very similar geographical makeup urban city and is the 3rd leg of the state university systems. (ie. Auburn, bama -- USF, FLorida and Florida State) And a team that has one of the BEST unkonwn coaches in the country. Read up my friend
  5. I acctually was thinking about putting together my thoughts. Chapter 1. The difference between and winner and a loser. Example USF athletics and UAB athletics. UAB has Mike Anderson, USF has Robert McCullum.
  6. Nobody disputes the notion of student athlete, but for people on this board to accuse huggins of being some demogouge is just ridiculous.  One of the reasons his graduation rate was low, was the intention of his players to come to cinci and then move on to the NBA.  Is that a crime? Is Stanford's golf team's graduation rate low because Tiger Wood's left early.  HOw about UNC's graduation rate. ?  Their entrie freakin team left early.  Graduation rates are the most overhyped -- over played stat in the business.  The graduation rate is only relavent if your players stay 4 or 5 years.  Many of Huggins players left early.  Many of them came back to graduate. How about Stackhouse, Vince Carter, Steve Francis, Joe Smith,  Matt Walsh, Joesph Forte, Corey Magette, Elton Brand, EVERONE LEAVES EARLY. I mean GIVE ME A BREAK.  Why don't you guys just admit to the fact that you will embrace any excuse that shelters our school from the criticisms it deserves. We have a basketball coach in Huggins who went to 12 straight NCAA tourny appearances, went to a final four, has recruited and coached well over 10 NBA players, who might be interested in coaching our team and you guys want to talk about student athletes. Yes I embrace student athelets, but it is important to get good players.  A 100% graduation rate and a team that goes 5-25 does nothing for me. LongDong
  7. Scholars? Student Athletes? Let's just sniff the tourny, then we can start being picky. You guys are nuts. It's like ******** about the quality of tires on the car. Does it really matter if the care isn't running? Always full of wisdom. LongDong.
  8. You're like the grinch who says never dream... so sad It makes me smile to just imagine it. Can't i just dream? Just live to imagine a day when South Florida basketball contends for an NCAA berth? Oh to be in Utopia
  9. might have to agree with rezz on this one. The ACC is very strong. Duke, UNC, MD, Wake Forest have all been pretty nasty over the last 10 years. might be a wash. Cuse and Uconn have been stong too.
  10. how about kenyon martin telling the university to take down his number. pretty amazing. the guy has been the final four, coached a team that was in the freakin metro conference to the number 1 ranking, been to like 14 straight ncaa appearances. SIGN HIM UP>>>!
  11. he coached van exel -- i don't know what you are talking about The coach who won 8 of 10 conference USA titles when he was in the league, a guy who won at least 25 games 9 of his last 10 years, a guy who has sent countless first round picks to the NBA, a guy who has coached the team that was #1 in the country -- a guy who has one of the best winning percentages in coaching history --- has rumors surrounding him coming to south florida and everyone on this board is annoyed.  This is the same south florida team that hasn't been to the tournament in 15 years, the same south florida team that has been ranked in the top 25 in god knows how long, the same south florida team that hasn't sent a player to the NBA since probably chuckie atkins and everyone is annoyed that I bring it up everyday.  This is should be front page news, but NO you guys stand behind a guy that hasn't had a single winning seasons since he has been here.  it makes no sense. ----------- Former Cincinnati coach Bob Huggins, who had the eighth-best winning percentage (.740) among active college coaches before stepping down under pressure in August, recently spoke to Hoop-Rap. Huggins, who became the Bearcats' coach in 1989, left Cincinnati with a record of 399-127 and 14 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, the nation's third-longest streak. Huggins won 245 more games than any coach in UC history. Overall, his career record is 567-199 in 24 seasons. Even more impressive, perhaps, is the fact that Huggins' Bearcats teams won at least 25 games 9 of the past 10 years and finished first in Conference USA 8 of the past 10 years. Five of his former players were first-round picks in the NBA. Among his Bearcats alums to play pro ball are Kenyon Martin, Nick Van Exel, Danny Fortson, Ruben Patterson, Corie Blount, DerMarr Johnson, Pete Mickeal and Kenny Satterfield. Huggins, who coached the Bearcats in three different conferences over the years - the Metro, the Great Midwest and Conference USA - will not be there for the fourth. His former assistant, Andy Kennedy, will take over as Cincinnati joins the Big East this season. Still, Huggins leaves behind an amazing legacy as well as numerous Miami connections. Among those connections are assistant coach Frank Martin, who led Miami High to three state titles, freshman center Abdul Herrera, who is from South Miami High, and junior forward Cedric McGowan, who is from Miami's Northwestern High. In addition, Huggins had been considered the front-runner to land star recruit Jason Bennett, the Miami Tropics' 7-3 center. But with Huggins' departure, much figures to change. Huggins' departure is something that angered many in Cincinnati. The coach has received great support there, including a recent charity roast/tribute that drew over 7,000 people. Kenyon Martin, one of 30 former Huggins players at the event, told the University of Cincinnati that he wanted his retired jersey taken down from the school's arena. "If he is not affiliated with the university, then I do not want to be," Martin said. Among the others in attendance included ESPN's **** Vitale, Louisville Coach Rick Pitino, Memphis Coach John Calipari and Kentucky Coach Tubby Smith. There were a lot of serious comments and tons of jokes at the event. Among the serious, there is this from Calipari: "Huggins stands for three things - his family, his players and winning. I will miss playing him, but he will be coaching again." And Smith added this: “I want to utilize his knowledge, get him down to Kentucky. I knew he always wanted to be a part of Kentucky. Now is the time for him to join us, in some form or fashion, evaluating our team. So I am sure he will be as busy as he has ever been.†But, of course, as in any roast, there were the jokes. Vitale, for example, said: "I know the {UC} president said, “higher education, you must be concerned about higher academics.†Hey Bobby! I know you like higher education. Six-foot ten, 6’11, the higher they are, the more you like them!" Huggins, though, got the last laugh with this classic Calipari tale: "John just runs Memphis. We were riding around in a limo. Memphis can be a little rough if you get off the beaten path. "There was this guy walking down the street. His shoe was just flapping. The whole sole was coming off. Cal pulled the limo over, rolled the window down. If you ever have been around with Cal, he carries a big wad of money. He wraps a rubber band around it. "So Cal pulls over, rolls the window down, takes out that big wade of money, took that rubber band off and said, “Here, put this rubber band around your shoe.â€Â
  12. This is TOTALLY unfounded. You guys act like huggins was running some prison shop. He had some bad guys no doubt... but the program was not that thuggish. They had some of the best players in the country. Kenyon Martin, Steve Logan, Nick Van Exel.... i mean give me a break. Who have we sent to the league ....Chuckie Atkins.? I think it says a ton about our school that huggins is even a possibility.
  13. notice a lack of interest in this article from the mccullum peanut gallery. pretty funny. I guess all that stuff i posted yesterday that was erased. yeah -- i made it up. Same thing the guy from the program was telling me. lots of whispers about Huggins and genshaft and woolard reluctant but feeling the heat from the donors. haha its good to be right
