  1. I have to disagree here. Going 17-13 in conference usa is way different than going 17-13 in the big east. If we were 17-13 in the big east you know somewhere along that path and even at the end would make usf a ncaa bubble team. Definitely making the conference tournament and a lock for at least an NIT bid. 17-13 in the conference usa means nothing, isnt UCF in conference USA now? Fans go to games when there is something to root for. Where there is an obtainable goal in sight. If mac or <insert name here> had usf 17-13 this year the games would be packed. But he doesnt. Games are empty when there is no committment to winning and we are getting blown out of most of our conference contests. The big east is a basketball conference first, if we can compete, they will show.
  2. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ say that out loud. the money used to buy out that contract will end up being the best dollars usf has ever spent.
  3. Is that Temple university's Football records or USF basketball records?
  4. It was Z. Cann's own decision to that. I dont care who's decision it was, it was a bad one. And ultimately it is really one persons decision. I dont know who called ZC a flop, but it is way too early to say he is a flop or a player yet, yes he does have soft hands. If there were any inkling of him getting another redshirt, it would have been worth it to sit him. yes another shot at the coach. Why not? What has he done for us?
  5. What a good decision to take a full year of eligibilty away for about 20 total minutes of play this year. He has had some signs of light
  6. My judgement is no matter how you look at it we are still losing. Someone posted about our players and how talented they were, McDonalds all american candidates and Mr Basketball in Florida runner up. but with all this talent we still lose. Our coach is a horrible recruiter and a horrible X and Os coach. We cannot afford to keep him. It is obvious he cannot win in this conference and never will. Dig deep usf. Lift every sofa cushion up. Buy him out and pick up a new coach.
  7. Well, he didnt hire him, so really he is just firing the worst contract ever given to any coach by our previous AD.  Who gives a 6 year contract to an unproven 3 year coach who had losing seasons 2of the 3 years he coached in a sub par conference?  But hey it was done, no looking back.  But the question remains, what will it take to realize this isnt working.  Do we need to lose every game.   This could be a landmak move in DWs career at usf. Some say we cant afford to get rid of him, I say we cant afford to keep him.
  8. It is great to see Brett write about the FACTS unlike some other writers. Seems Mac was a little confident at first, sarcastically calling the Greenburg era not winning. Then what do you call your era mac? You promised something and your not even close to coming through. Excellent article, the fans do not care, just go to the games. I love how some other cream puff editorial writer says the fans are "divided" down the middle if he should stay or go. Really? Do you even go to the games? The attendence says volumes about that little division theory. Cmon. We dont need sympathy we need the cold blooded facts, and as much as you guys may not like it, thats what Brett gives us.
  9. (this is for some fun while we anxiously wait to hear from our entrusted leader, Mr. Woolard) I just wanted to take this time to thank my fellow darksiders for our times of comradity.  It seems our little club will soon come to an end maybe as early as monday.  The blood is in the water and the sharks are swimming.  Our common goal for change in leadership for our consistently losing basketball team may soon be met.  Everthing I am reading on this board and outside of this board has had the vast majority of its followers saying "enough is enough".  The signifigant improvement Woolard has demanded has obiously not been met.  I am anxious to see what happens, but I honeslty feel this year will be different from last and Mac has one foot out the door already.  but lets show class, if and when mac is relieved of his duties, thank him and wish him a farewell.  the unfortunate thing is once this happens our club will be over, hopefully forever.  But the positive is we will all be united once again as USF bulls basketball fans with our Pro-Mac friends.  We can all bumps chests as we win in the big east together and make the BE tournament and maybe one day the NCAA tourney.  You think usf basketball is fun now, imagine we are winning and ranked in the BIG EAST! I would like to take this time out to thank my fellow darksiders.....Reuben and Ari (Joementum and others), you have been through this with myself since the beginning.  Windbane, FlSports, Tampajo your vocalness and refusal for subpar performance is appreciated.  Sherriff and smazza, you guys are legends and keep on fighting the good fight.  Bullman, cyberbull, wildrover you have all been extremely beneficial to the cause.  For all of the darksiders i forgot to mention i am sorry the academy started playing the music in the background and its my time to go.  but please darksiders feel free and reply to the thread and let us know how you feel about our club and the good chance it may soon be over.  Pro-Mac guys your opinions about us being united as one (not sure if you even want that) are appreciated as well. (keep in mind this is for humor, so if you take it personal please relax) Herm
  10. Get ready to hear "Plummer drops back, has Calvin johnson wide open up the sideline. Pass is under thrown and intercepted" I guess the bucs think one mans garbage is another mans treasure.
  11. Looks like the fans are having the same feelings as they did last year. Very very anxious to see what happens. Cant turn your back on the fans 2 yers in a row, can you??? ps doesnt that jack guy look like Ari's rants. Oh yea trip, i'll save you the post, Ari and I are the same person *wink wink, thumbs ups*
  12. Will not attract the qualty coach?  I hate to use the "H" word but didnt Huggins want to come here?  Though he had a personal vendetta, others would love to coach in the big east. Some people like challenges. huggins must of not realized how little money we have here.  Or maybe he just assumed when he filled the seats, put us on national tv and gave us a rank the money would come.  I hate this money excuse.  Maybe since we all have no hope we should just stop watching.  People ARE getting paid and everyone affilated with the decision making on this program, no matter how little or how much they are getting paid, are being grossly overpaid. ÂÂ
  13. Why would he come here? Never happen, that would be taking a step back. you think Bill Self will coach usf because of the Big east. the Big 12 isnt the Sun belt, that conference is fine where they are. Trip I think you have an obsession with the Harrick family. steve Lavin hasnt found a job because he is probably looking for too much money, which we def. do not have. how else would he pay for his clown pimp suits and hair pomenade? Bullzfan4life, Mac does not graduate players. Dont know where you got that info. Reub is right, transfers do not apply to graduation rates. Bring in the Pope, he is a great guy who also will lose games.
  14. thats how it works. Is this a jim Harrick Jr. quiz?
  15. We made some NITs in those years. We hang the NIT (not in tournament) banners in the sundome. cant afford to let him do, cant afford to keep him. What do we do?
  16. Melvin "I never seen a shot I didnt like" Buckley. Have to love the confidence in a player not afraid to shoot even when he is cold.
  17. Whether he stays or goes, i just hope Woolard gives us his decision immediately after the DePaul game. I am anxious to see what is going to happen.
  18. Bien, It was an honest question I was asking. I guess I should have rephrased it a little better, but i wanted to know if anyone knew what his plans were after this year. I heard on this board about nba consideration and i was seeing if there was any truth to it. i will admit the Hakim Warrick comparison was off, talent wise, being warrick was a predicted lottery pick, but the style of game is somewhat similar. both very unpolished offensively, jump out of the gym, and rely on their raw athletic ability more than anything else. I wasnt looking to gain or lose credibility for the comment, i was wondering if anyone knew what Mchughs plans were.
  19. This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know what McHugh mattis' plans are after this season? Is he going to try and work out for an NBA/NBAD team or have any consideration for a late draft round? I think, similar to Sol jones, he is a raw athletic talent who is a little thin and unpolishished offensively, but with nba trainers and coaches, maybe he has a chance or someone will take a shot, anyone know? NBA comparison can be a Hakim Warrick/Trevor Ariza type player.
  20. lol you dont think? Kidd and Odom are triple double guys and Kobe is the best single talent in the nba. Plus Jason Kidd is the kind of player that makes everyone around him play better, cant imagine kobe getting any better. I dont think they would be better than the suns or mavs but instantly become a force.
