  1. heh, could be. Wake is 3-0, and is ahead of FSU in the ACC atlantic (beating duke in addition to the 2 big east teams now). maybe they are a powerhouse now
  2. oh, and so far it's comeback kid but here's hoping he doesnt have to do that next game.
  3. Well, his number is #8, so "the bull" would be funny...but Grothe is already 2 syllables and is a good name.
  4. heh, ncie video. awesome that these are downloadable. everyone should play these on gameday with windows rolled down. and after game.
  5. wow, awesome quotes. and first mention of Ean's reaction to his drop that I've seen (although I havent read everything). Ean and Grothe continue to raise my level of hope in this team.
  6. 14th in nation in yards per attempt, 14th in nation in passing TDs. yeah, it might start to go downhill, but it's nice to see now.
  7. yeah, but i'm worried about their groins being "horrible." seems to me those things always get worse when playing through them. hopefully not, as the first and only bye week is 5 weeks from now. can't wait for these suspensions to be over...
  8. O-line will help, but with depth at WR and the last few games not getting many chances to return kicks (WHY IS EAN NOT IN ON EVERY KICKOFF?), he could stand to run some reverses.
  9. also, I believe we got votes last year before losing to pittsburgh? correct me if I'm wrong. definitely got votes the 8-win year that should have been a bowl berth, having beaten 2 bowl teams. would have been this year with same opponents considering the plethora of bowl games now.
  10. 12 teams outside of top 25 got votes this week. 25+12 = 37. we are now 40th, 53rd last week. all we did was beat UCF. kansas is big 12 team. even teams like TCU and Boise that play very few good teams are ranked. winning is only important part of being ranked. we get votes with kansas. close to being ranked if we beat nearly, and possibly, ranked Rutgers. it will be hard to beat both of those teams, so it could be moot point. however, not many teams make it to 5-0 so we would be close. UConn could seal it, UNC would insure it. however, let's try to be kansas and see what happens. I doubt we win 2 or more in a row, although I certainly hope we do and it's possible.
  11. 12 teams outside of top 25 got votes this week. 25+12 = 37. we are now 40th, 53rd last week. all we did was beat UCF. kansas is big 12 team. even teams like TCU and Boise that play very few good teams are ranked. winning is only important part of being ranked. we get votes with kansas. close to being ranked if we beat nearly, and possibly, ranked Rutgers.
  12. I think the deception for running was very good this week. we had a good mix of reverses, fake reverse QB runs, and RB runs. the only problem is we need to improve the blocking and RB position itself...just an unfortunate situation at RB this year considering we finally have a QB. that call was even better than it looked, though, the voodoo, because it was underthrown a lot I thought. great call and great read. good to know the former QBs-turned-WR are starting to pay off at the deepest position at USF. now try Ean at RB some. at least for some outside runs.
  13. FIU lost another close game to bowling green (losing by 5). they are slightly underrated i would think.
  14. geez, how many players can O'leary blame for the loss?
  15. Seems dorsey would be better if you want to hurt people. I agree with Ean being tried at RB more. I liked the variation we had on the running plays with the QB runs mixed in with end-arounds and up-the-middle. adding Ean in there would really spice things up, as he is clearly the hardest guy to tackle when given any kind of space.
  16. I think Julmiste is not a running back. He's probably slower than Grothe, and he's definitely not quick enough to play RB. Running when coverage is too good and the D-line is past you is one thing, being handed off to is quite another. It is unfortunate that he doesnt have a place to play, but he is our backup QB right now. That's his job right now. Feel sorry for him if you want, worry about our running game if you want, but Julmiste is not a RB.
  17. hopefully Ian Randolph keeps getting better, too. He did drop a sure TD catch, afterall. After the last full weeks I fulled expected him to break that last tackle and score on the punt return. What I want to know though, is why he wasn't returning on every kickoff, because he is clearly one of the best return guys in the nation. Taurus did have a nice return as well, though. and smazza, not sure that you should worry about Randolph being double-teamed with "all-hype" amp hill, taurus johnson, and marcus edwards all having good games so far this season. then there are all the other talented receivers (amari jackson, s.j. green, etc).
  18. heh, good question. I had a good time with UCF fans as well. My friend that goes there was able to get me on one of their buses from campus to avoid the parking situation there. All the guys there were cool with the typical banter.
  19. also, USF is about where West Virginia used to be. and Ksquire, we are talking about the talent level of the programs, not their past. when miami was in the big east they were still in the top 10 every year. louisville is at that point at the moment. west virginia might be better. we shall see what happens when those 2 teams play.
  20. good read, terrible pass...lucky that Amp Hill was 20 yards open and that the defender barely didnt make it in time.
  21. yeah, louisville is better than UM now. scary that they did most of their scoring without their #1 RB AND QB. West Virginia has also stepped up and filled the quality team position that Va Tech used to hold. Rutgers is probably about as good as BC used to be. The Big East might be as good as it was just a few years ago. Go figure.
  22. also, maryland is probably better than kansas and UNC, therefore better than any OOC game we have
