  1. EA is pretty good at getting every D-1A roster in there and fairly accurately rated. If they did leave a guy out like that, it would be ridiculous considering they have included 2A teams the last several teams.
  2. I have no idea who she is, but all she did was defend herself from someone attacking the cheerleaders and what they do. Your responses have shown your "ignorance" towards the topic. But hey, I can agree with you that the wave is overused at critical times in a football game when we should be paying attention to the actual game.
  3. dude, she called you ignorant (meaning you don't know something about the topic) because you implied that 99.99999% of cheerleaders don't understand much about the sports they support. seems kind of pointless to put so much work into cheerleading if they don't understand the sports. then again, you could be right considering that FSU girl might know quite a lot. she at least knows how to create publicity. but i'd calm down on the ***** name-calling. maybe that's just me.
  4. The announcers said another new rule related to game time is that if a team scores a TD at the end of a game and does not need the extra point, it will not be attempted. I'm ok with that one; I don't like the clock starting after change of possession.
  5. Ray Rice is now the starter. So much for that Heisman hype.
  6. one fourth of all the teams remain, one half of the big east teams remain, including a 6 seed and a 7 seed upsetting a 2. good represenation so far I'd say
  7. guess our defensive effort in the bowl game impressed N.C. State. ugh.
  8. guess it's NC State. http://bulls.tbo.com/bulls/MGB2FFTQDJE.html "TAMPA - University of South Florida co-defensive coordinator Rick Kravitz, the first assistant hired by Coach Jim Leavitt, accepted a job as safeties coach at N.C. State on Monday."
  9. yeah, one of the best receivers in the game who will be on his best behavior on a one year contract every year. similar to ron artest in the NBA. if these guys want to get paid they will not start anything.
  10. need a QB, and players for future years...should be good this year if we can find a QB, though
  11. get some stats, sure. I think he got better because when he was competing with banks for the starting job he was even worse. at times last year he was ok. however, being in tampa is more important for college teams. all those landmarks, including busch gardens as well, are reasons players should want to come here. in the NFL you go where you get the most money 95% of the time, just like in the business world. that's why we should never lose to UConn, a team in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold.
  12. rivals has them third at this moment...and what difference does it make what state you recruit the best players from, if you are recruiting the best players?
  13. johnny was a key to their offense, yankees should have advantage now with one of the best lineups ever.
  14. he's a team player, but he's the best player on his team. he shot 61% that night, no reason to stop shooting. lead lakers to comeback win and only late in the game did he hog the ball, for historic reasons. and an historic game it was, too. game after he had only 30 points and 8 assists, in another win.
  15. apparently it's now between us and FSU for Daron Rose...
  16. 1-A receivers should not "drop" the ball. Fail to make a great catch, maybe. Make great catches sometimes, yes. Drop balls, no. There is no defense for dropping passes. Receivers should always be in position to succeed if they are thrown the ball and are open. Am I defending Julmiste? No. He's terribly inaccurate except for short slants. A lot of those were dropped. No excuses, both need major improvement.
  17. I won't. Thanks Joe, I just remembered this post and read his reply and was about to look up the same thing you posted. If you look at history, Army and Navy are 2 of the best teams ever, but are they good now? Looking at the last decade (90s), it would be FSU. Looking at the last 5 years, it would probably be Miami, out of the state of Florida at least. Looking at the entire last decade, as Joe did, it would still be FSU. UF has always been up there as a dominate team, however. You can't exclude them from the equation since Spurrier coached them and onward. I was originally, and still to an extent that being a fan of USF allows, a fan of FSU. If you want to make a real argument, biased Miami fan, you could easily mention the 6 wins in a row Miami put on FSU. But again, that ended this year. It's a big 3. That's just how it is. UF could win 3 national championships in the row for the first time ever and still not have as many championships as Miami in their history. Would you not call them one of the best teams of their time? I think you would.
  18. some good points mentioned, but I'd like to point out that FSU beat Miami this year and won the ACC Championship, then almost beat near undefeated Penn State. Miami is not a Big 1, they are still part of the the big 3 (UF beat FSU). anyway, minor detail...
  19. so is zach thomas and many other great linebackers, not that i know how good that kid is
  20. fair enough, I'll agree to disagree. having watched sports of all kinds for years, especially football, there's no way I'd ever agree with you that a college team could beat an NFL team. I'd like you to reexamine what all the USC players are doing several years from now, though. then compare them to all the college all-stars the 49ers have now and see who had more. until then...
  21. every pro level team in any sport is automatically an all-star squad of the lower level. doesnt that register with you at all? add the experience they have and it's pretty clear why they would win. if the players in the lower level were better than the pro players, then why are they still in college or minors? even in college football where the players have to be 3 years out of high school, there is a reason for that, they are still developing. while I am against the age limitations, there are reasons for that rule. and still, EVERY nfl team is a collection of college stars. but apparently you will never accept that. USC losing 1 game in 35 doesnt hurt yoru arguement at all, but there was never a legit arguement to begin with.
