  1. I haven't looked at the UCF board...well, ever...because I never wanted it to be a rivalry and I personally did not care much. That being said, I am sure that while their fans are rude, USF has its share of rude fans, even if they arent on this board (and I'm sure at least a few of them are). But it's not like all UCF fans are rude. I'm going to stay with a friend from UCF before I go to the game Saturday, and I expect nothing more than the usual sports heckling. Maybe if some UCF guy started insulting me I'd care more about playing them. I view this game the same as Kansas and UNC: A non-conference game that would help us get ranked if we won, and in case we have a bad season would help us reach a bowl game.
  2. I'd be ok with with sound from both sides, except that then I couldn't hear the band. also, that would negate the first down celebration idea of playing #8 for that...not to cross threads or anything. corner of north end zone seems good enough to me.
  3. great news, even if i already bought my ticket at full price. need a lot of people there
  4. all boards on the internet have idiots
  5. I'm loving it is lame, but I hope it's worth significant money. The only bad part of the #8 or whatever it is is the time it takes if we were doing a hurry up offense. Seems good to me.
  6. I'm just saying, our offense hasnt exactly been spectacular yet. Grothe will hopefully improve each week. But if our defense is licking any chops I'm not sure their defense is afraid of us yet. Let's hope the WRs can get the ball in their hands to make some plays and we have some RBs that get yards this week.
  7. yeah, and after last week our offense will seem in slow motion to them.
  8. Well, a D really can't do this ... But it will be a plus as they will have shorter punts most likely. They will punt to him at least on the first few for a few games still - I BULLieve. Go BYLLS !!! I mean that the defense needs to force punts before the opponent gets to the 40 or 50 yard line so that they cant angle punt without risking giving up bad field position. The 2nd half of the FIU game they were able to punt within the 20 yard line several times with the angle punting. Randolph will at least force good field position unless punters are deadly accurate with their angles as long as the defense can hold up.
  9. well, at least then i would have a reason to watch the Army-Navy game.
  10. yeah, that is dumb, but it fills in the gap between the BCS Bowl games and the national championship game. and of course, i'm sure those bowl games payed some money to get themselves in that position. wouldn't be bad to finish 4th (with Notre Dame going to BCS bowl) so we could play a week into January.
  11. rutgers is next home game and hopefully they are ranked and we can pull it out with a nice attendance.
  12. defintely a stat to keep up with this year. I just hope the defense can force teams to actually punt to him, because I would think starting this week teams would have scouted him and know better. This could be a dante hall of a few years ago situation.
  13. yeah, it's definitely 4 games before they play USF. 3-1 at least but of course only possibly ranked if they beat Ohio and dont choke on Howard.
  14. If I recall, the Pac-10 was ranked the #1 Conference by the BCS last year. They have 3 quality teams at best, so I'm not sure how that works out for them. It's not like their bottom teams are better than other conferences. Oh well. That being said, the Big East might have 4 ranked teams in a few weeks if Pitt and Rutgers can keep doing well. Not to mention 2 of those might bein the top 10 (and maybe 1 in top 5). That's on par with any other conference, especially considering we only have 8 teams.
  15. yeah, but the Pac-10 being #1 doesn't say much for that poll, IMO.
  16. #1: UF could be happy that Texas lost as it helps them in standings. #2: A lot of people use that symbol, it can also just mean "rock on" and could mean nothing.
  17. good, because DL seems to be D's only weakness. need julmiste back, perhaps.
  18. yeah that's what I thought I saw on the replay. The defense needs to keep opponents on their side of the field so they have to keep kicking to Ian Randolph. FIU's punter did a good job in the 2nd half of angle punting out of bounds. Randolph was 3 for 4 scoring on punt returns against them.
  19. guys behind the field goal post were trying to start the wave for WAY too much of the game...we were behind trying to come back and they are trying to start a wave with clearly not enough people on the opposite side of the stadium to even do a wave to begin with. why can't we just support the team and watch the game? and speaking of support, i agree that people need to be informed about when to be loud (the stadium announcer does a good job at that during crucial moments) and also when to be quiet for the offense to communicate and audible. but every school has the same problem.
  20. McNese should have been a wakeup call. Maybe we needed 2 alarms...we shall see.
