  1. We've got all the ingredients to finish in the top ten next year. That spells the potential for a great recruit class. O linemen will want to block for the potent offense. Receivers will want to be on the receiving end of Grothe's passes. Nice balance of players with amounts of time remaining. We are in position to perform well and recruit well. LB's will want to learn from Moffitt. DBs will want to learn from Wiliams and Jenkins. DL will want to learn from Julmiste and Selvie. JL and company have done extremely well!
  2. It should be clear we're getting better players. Nothing wrong with transfers. The best players only stay in college at most for two years anyway. You gotta have players and Mac is starting to bring them in. Gransberry, Bozeman, Verdejo, Howard, and the new transfer from FSU, Holmes are quality players. By the end of the season we'll see them gel with the rest of the team so Mattis and Buckly will have something good to remember after their senior year.
  3. The coach is famous all right. Famous for lying, quitting, and moving.
  4. If CJL was brutal to work with why to we have Wally Burnham and Rod Smith here? Wally is a proven entity and Rod has shown that with the right personnel he can help us score a bunch of points. Something is a bit fishy. Could have been the arguments were for a reason. Our DL played great this year. That was due partly to Clark but also to Wally's scheme and pure talent and heart.
  5. We should be favored on all but maybe three games next year. Regualar season next year should be at worst 9-3. I don't see why we can't be 12-0 unlesss the injury bug hits us hard.
  6. The fact is we won because of Mac. He got the right players and he got them to perform against a team that will probably go to the NCAAs.
  7. When my son chose USF over my alma mater UF, my feeling towards the Gators practically vanished. Watching the Bulls grow in EVERY sport is a tribute to the fans, the athletic director, the coaches, and most importantly the players who commited to becoming Bulls. Cheering for a team that you only want to see improve is way better than cheering for a team that must win every game to satisfy its fans. In that, the Bulls have delivered! With that being said, I'm looking forward to the near future when most of our teams will be expected to win every game.
  8. Bozeman looked a little tentative at times but this guy is all about basketball and his position is PG. Look what he's done already. By mid season we'll be looking at a much improved PG who can shoot and drive. Howard will find a place in the starting rotation and Capko provides the depth we need. This team has the ingredients to play with anyone. They proved that to themselves last night.
  9. This was a big win, any way you look at it. It means we will compete in the BE.
  10. USF is going to the BE tourney. Gransberry, Mattis, Verdugo, Bozeman, Buckley.
  11. Lou Holtz was the most overrated coach in the NCAA. Good PR guy and that's it.
  12. Gransberry, Bozeman, Vergugo, Buckley, Mattis, ... these guys are good!!! The bench ain't bad either. We'll win more BE games this year and a good shot at the playoffs! ACC who?
  13. Great news about Ford. Hill, a great athlete but where will he fit in? Jenkins and Williams will make our corners among the best tandem in the country.
  14. I think we'd pull in 10,000. I went to the Orange Bowl when we played UM last year and we had a pretty good contingent there. We have a better following now so ten grand is realistic.
  15. Great responses and I agree with Joe and some others. We want the "stars" but it's clear we can be very, very competitive without all the "stars". I'd like to see the star rating when one is recruited and then what it is when they leave. Josh Julmiste, Moffitt, Grothe, Selvie, etc. I can't wait for next year!!
  16. Most would agree that UM's and FSU's recruit classes over the past five or six years have been rated in the top fifteen or better. Most would also agree our recruit classes have hovered around fiftieth or worse. Explain why our recruits over the past five or six years have resulted in our team ranked well above FSU's and UM's this year. One answer is JL and his staff knows talent, signs them, and makes the most of their potential. Another is that the recruit ratings leave a lot to be desired.
  17. They'll stay. Both had weak bowl games. That speaks volumes to the scouts. They will play on Sundays but only after another year with Wally. Plus, they'll want to play on a top 15 team (10-2 or better) next year and go to a big bowl.
  18. Two good runs does not an MVP make. I too wonder why he kept falling down. Nicholas with runners up to Selvie and Moffit. Also, was it me or did Trae have an off day?
  19. We beat WV in Morgantown. We can beat Auburn on their home turf. We've proven we can play with anyone. Our D will still be great. Who knows, maybe better. Our O will be better. Everyone's coming back. I believe it's a matter of how well we prepare and our guys knowing we can beat anyone.
  20. Couldn't have written a better script by finishing our first bowl victory. What he gained and contributed as a Bull will pave the way for a successful future for him, whatever path he chooses.
  21. Anyone who's ever played knows it is hard forgetting the bad play and remembering the good stuff.
  22. We'll get votes. We're no longer under the radar. With all but five starters coming back (and their replacements are pretty good) I'm anxious to see where we start next year.
  23. There were many reasons our defense hung tough throughout the game not the least of which was a tribute to Wally Burnham. As I'm sure you know, Coach Burnham's mom passed away yesterday and I'm sure he knows all Bulls fans' and players' thoughts are with him and his family. We are so fortunate to have him on our side.
