  1. The "heralded" recruiter did not do well at all. I don't think this hurts and can only help. Mac has to pick up someone soon while the recently released but good coaches are still available.
  2. Great start. We'll see him in the NBA within two years.
  3. With all our close calls, every team could not take us lightly. The rest were more lucky than Georgetown. We had a bunch of close calls and only our lack of depth kept us from winning. It was great to see all the players at their best for the last game. The other Big East team were lucky they didn't play us when we were at this level. We'll definitely miss Holmes and Jones but we've got some good players joining us next year and I fully expect us to make the playoffs.
  4. Okay so my "gurantee" of beating Rutgers was off by 14.5 points. It was my first trip from Melbourne to watch the Bulls play basketball. Worth the trip. I'll be back. After the game it dawned on me that there may be another way to view Mac. He may actually look back one day and say this was one of his best efforts. Last night's game wasn't typical in that once Rutgers opened up a 14 point lead it was tough for us to get back in it when our shots were just not dropping and everything Douby threw up did. Here is why Mac's efforts are to be commended. He has a team lacking the depth and overall talent than the other Big East teams, competitive in every game. If we were getting blown out it would be one thing. We're not. He just doesn't have the options the other teams have. The kids are playing there hearts out and I can tell you the fans are supporting that. It was still exciting and when we had a shot to cut the lead to nine the crowd was on their feet. The wins will come as more players will want to play Big East ball and come to USF and play for Mac.
  5. I'm driving over from Melbourne to watch the Bulls win their first Big East game. I guarantee it!
  6. Maybe the three point game will be in our favor this time. The team has more than earned their share of victories. I love it when the opponents coaches say it's good to win when we play bad. They played poorly because our team forced them to play that way! We made them look bad... except for the W.
  7. I caught the show in Melbourne. Josh's presentation was the most professional of all as well as optimistic. I'm looking forward to next season.
  8. Smazza! Smatterwithyou? All these bad eggs? We've had very few compared to most schools. Among our team's strengths is character. JL has picked kids with heart in addition to skill.
  9. The Bulls finished strong last year and should be even better this year. It will be interesting to see how high we finish in the Big East and how that might help us get a good seed in the NCAA tourney.
  10. How about Tennessee? When are they going to remove Fulmer's name from the street named after him? Rankings are for the media. Let's play ball!!
  11. We won't know if we lost ground until this time next year. After a couple of changes on offense, next year's team will be better than this year's. The year after that, even stronger. We'll still be young next year but we'll also be experienced. My early prediction: 7-4
  12. Every single one of our athletic programs is on the rise.
  13. Two words: Brock Berlin When you go primarily for lineman the class will never sound exciting. The fact is we brought in speed and size. We have the coaching and the facility to bring these guys and the team to a high level.
  14. Smazza, smatterwithyou? You're like Bush but in reverse. He tells us everything is fine when in reality everything (except Halliburton and the oil companies) is in trouble. You say everything is in trouble when reality says we are moving forward at a rate better than anyone expected.
  15. Hold on to what we've got and snag a couple of four stars.
  16. Smazza is unusually crabby with this one. I just don't get how anyone can complain about what Leavitt has done in such a short period of time and with such limited resources. His efforts are paying off and we are seeing it in this years recruit class and a season with a record better than almost all predicted. Smazza: Don't worry. Be happy!
  17. I live in Melbourne where the Florida Today is published. They treat UCF as the home college football team. It's only about 45 minutes away and they have some satellite classes here. I wrote them a couple of times to let them know that the area is full of USF families (students and alumnae) and will are interested in what's going on with the Bulls. I doubt if my letters had anything to do with it but there has been more USF ink recently. I think it has to do with the greater attention we are receiving in the state and the country.
  18. The only guys who ran for any yardage for the South were the WRs. Andre will be a third rounder and see plenty of action during a long career. He has all the tools and he doesn't get injured. It sure looked great seeing a Bulls helmet out there!
  19. It may have been the women's team and they deserve trememdous credit. They are highly respected and have a real shot at the post season.
  20. He wouldn't have been able to see any playing time here. Probably won't there either.
  21. We can always do better. Everyone can always do better. This is an outstanding class and they'll keep getting better.
  22. "Prizes will include gift certificates for the resort, T-shirts and logo items, Lettelleir said." Something about giving out T-shirts at a nudist colony doesn't sound right.
  23. If we're healthy we've got a good shot at the dance.
  24. Good points size and heart matters as well as talent. Both of these guys seem to have those. Don't know about the grades but the issue hasn't been raised.
