  1. Any man who can recruit talent out of trailers is something special. Any man who has done what USF football has done in less than ten years is special. Any man who is loved as much as he is by his players and fans is special. Keep JL at all costs!!
  2. I feel better about next year with Andre in the NFL. Ponton, and Simpson will do great!!!
  3. Rod Smith called a perfect game against Louisville. His game calling today, although questionable wom us the most important game of the year (after beating Louisville, every game is the most important). He is calling plays for today and for the rest of the season. He knows what he's doing.
  4. Drops. Without the drops he's a top notch QB. We've got receivers with great potential. They will start hanging on to the ball and will go to a bowl and we will win. Our defense is excellent so we need no changes there.
  5. Someone referred to the overrated Chris Leak. All I can say is Alabama 31; UF 3 Matt will get his chance and he'll shine.
  6. I checked "Oh Yeah" only because I want to support the Bulls. We had a super crowd. I'm still pissed they put the band in the upper deck so no one could hear them. I grew up in Miami and the bowl was a toilet decades ago. All it has is memories. The rest sucks.
  7. Check this out!http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/stewart_mandel/09/27/power.rankings/index.html 25 -- South Florida Bulls (3-1) While any team can step up and pull off an upset on any given week, USF was so dominant in all areas against Louisville that you can hardly consider it a fluke. It may be that the Big East is that bad, but let the Bulls have their moment in the sun before a trip to the Orange Bowl. Next game: Saturday at Miami.
  8. My son (USF student), my friend (USF alum from Miami), and I (from Melbourne) will be there ready to roar!
  9. Tampa boasts Louisville's largest alumni association. They sold 2,500 of the alotted 3,000 tickets. It was great when the wave hit their corner of the stadium. The whole stadium booed. Every time we had them in 3rd or 4th down situations everyone was standing and making lots of noise. I've been to a lot of big games in a lot of stadiums and this was by far the most exciting. It wasn't until about five minutes remained that we all felt the game was in hand. You kept thinking about last year's Army game. Leavett has done an incredible job with his players. I can't think of any coach that we should ever have. Now my son and I will be going through the same thing next week down in the Orange Bowl. Everyone now knows we can win this one too!
  10. Watson has a great attitude and that leads to success. He's way more athletic than anyone Dumberville has seen.
  11. Have a conservative passing game. They're going to open it up and look out for Hill and Denson catching some big passes.
  12. We can also beat Rutgers, Cincy, Pitt, UConn, and WV. With a good showing vs. Louisville and Miami, we'll go to our first bowl.
  13. Leavett said it best. Paraphrasing, he said that if we play our best we will have a chance. I would have to add that Louisville also will have to be a bit off. I believe if those happen we have a good chance. Our D is way better than most thought. PJ is way better than last year.
  14. I've often wondered if smazza is really a USF fan. I don't recall anything he ever posted that was positive. A little constructive criticism is okay once in awhile but the fact is all our sports programs are continuing to improve in all respects.
  15. Women's golf, basketball and softball; soccer; etc. We're more than just men's football, baseball, and basketball. Our atheltic department will soon be among the best all around in the country.
  16. That alone will have the defenses keying on him which should open up the passing lanes. This is going to be an exciting season!
  17. The season will rest with the OL and DL. Were solid everywhere else. Not much to challenge. I think you're right on the money. GO BULLS!!!
  18. New owner. 'Nuf said. We will always want as many local businesses to support us. Good support of their business will mean good support of our programs.
  19. As I stated before, we're in position to start a cycle of great QBs. Julmiste wasn't the reason we were 4-7 last year. Our D was young. Talented but young. We scored enough points to win seven or eight games last year. We couldn't make the stops when we needed to and were burned long a few times by some talented QBs. We now have the receivers who can open up the field and with Andre in the backfield we are balanced. Check the stats. PJ didn't turn the ball over much and most routes seemed to be short. He's got the arm and the toughness. Remember, he is now just a junior. Now he has the experience and an O and D for us to be winners... this year. If someone beats PJ out then we are just that much better.
  20. Makes a lot of sense. This guy is a pure outstanding athlete and needs to be in the starting lineup somewhere. With he and Payton at wide outs we have quite a combo! If the OL gives our QB time and Hall keeps 'em honest we'll have quite an offense for whoever the QB is.
  21. I saw this on the USF.Rivals.com Had a blurb on each team. I think there are too many unknowns with the bottom six teams. Pitt and Louisville should do well but I think we have a great shot at beating them at our first Big East home game. The stands should be packed!
  22. My partner, a USF grad, and I are going. We'll be sitting in the Bulls' section. To get tickets there contact Pekarek, Lori [Lorip@admin.usf.edu] She is in charge of this. I can't wait!
  23. Seems very well qualified and will enter our program that already has an outstanding academic record.
  24. Remember, PJ was only a sophmore last year. How many sophmore QBs did well last year. Even the guy from Gainesville had his problems. We had a QB problem last year. This year we have an increible crop of newcomers challenging an experienced and probably improved junior QB. PJ is a great athlete and will contribute either as the starter or at some other position. PJ is a class guy and realizes he has to fight to hold his spot. He also indicated he's a team player and will do whatever is best for the team. Spoken like a true Bull!
