  1. he signed a $9m contract. He makes more per year than 99.9% of his fans
  2. I thought you didn't like it when teams shoot a lot of 3s....
  3. honestly there is something wrong with coaches that get paid multi millions per year begging fans to pony up even more money for the players. it's time the schools start paying the players. they can take it out of the funds that pay coaches, athletic directors and ridiculous facility upgrades.
  4. better get used to it. it's how basketball is played in the modern age. FAU averaged 26 attempts per game last year only usf fans could find fault in an 18 point win
  5. yeah if we became a program that is regularly in the playoffs then that will certainly attract some talent. more so than say a middle of the road sec or big ten program let alone acc or big12
  6. the only reason they would jump is for the money. like I said it's more difficult to win when moving up conferences. watch what happens to oklahoma. stop with the power 5 nonsense. first there is only 4 now and second the big 10 and sec are leaps and bounds higher than acc or big 12. there is a power 2 and yes I understand that the odds are against an aac team winning it but it's not impossible. I've never said probable only possible I bet we have a better chance winning a title while in the aac than vandy or many other p2 programs. we would only be better off financially. certainly not competitively.
  7. easiest way to a playoff. on previous threads, I've listed all the successful teams that have moved up conferences only to become mediocre. Including Miami who have only played for 1 conference championship since moving to acc. moving up actually makes it tougher to make the playoffs.
  8. top 4 get a bye so only need to win 3. cincy would have been a top 4 seed the year they made playoffs.
  9. you sound like jeff scott. giving all the reasons why you can't possibly expect to do something. first off , you can be a top 4 seed and get a bye in the first round. so no need to win 4 games. Miami was an independent for it's first 3 titles. they played such behemoths as ECU, Cincy, Houston, Duke, Miss State, Purdue. It's laughable to suggest the big east was in any way a power conference for football back then anyway. They were a basketball conference that happened to play football. ask schnellenberger if it was possible to win a natty at miami before he was hired. I bet he thought it was. Nobody else in the country did though. Our resources are top notch. new indoor training facility. new stadium on the way with a dedicated football center. we have a coach who can recruit. all we need is fans(or honestly even one wealthy fan) who can buy us depth. no problem. Coaches leave even the best programs for new jobs. Didn't Notre Dame lose their coach? you see nothing but obstacles. I just hope our coach sees them as opportunities. obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. - henry ford there are two kinds of people: those who think they can and those who think they can't and they're both right. - henry ford
  10. you are such a pessimist. do you ever see any hope for the future? we have a better shot of making the playoffs in the "minor" leagues. didn't miami wins their titles when they were in the "minor" leagues? what about fsu? it's only a matter of time before a g5 wins a national championship now that there is access to the playoffs..
  11. oh I don't think he is doing anything wrong. more power to him. they do need to come up with rules that discourage this though. maybe 4 year contracts etc.
  12. you could say the same about getting to two in the bcs era. at least we will argue who should be 12 or 13 compared to 4 or 5. much better. they still argue about what bubble teams in the basketball tourney got left out and they have 64+ teams in
  13. it is. it's essentially free agency every year. it's why UCFs QB moves to OU and then to Oregon.
  14. they aren't signing contracts. it's like a signing bonus. only way you get paid more is to leave and get another signing bonus.
  15. Big 12 might have the better basketball conference this year but it's not even close when comparing their histories. acc is hands down better. big 12 hasn't had to negotiate a deal since Bally's went bankrupt. live sports streaming bubble is popping.just ask mlb BTW being back to the negotiating table earlier will actually be worse for them.
  16. 2 teams that will no longer be in the big 12 next year.....except OU wouldn't have been in the playoffs. Liberty would have.big 12 is a one bid league
  17. we are 7 games into his first year. maybe he has the recipe(system) just not all the ingredients(players) honestly Knox leads the team in minutes and his shooting splits are awful. 27-12-61 maybe it's because they want his brother Youngblood hasn't shot all that great yet either. we need to shoot the 3 more consistently. 17-87 in the 4 losses. that's 20% expect volatile results until we have more consistent shooting from behind the arc. it may come with this group or it may not. time will tell.
  18. it will be interesting to see if the washington state president gives any push back on change.
  19. you are going to get volatile results with this system with these players . you can beat almost anyone when the 3's are falling and can lose to anyone when they are not. Personally I like it. It's modern basketball(analytics prove shooting 3's and attacking the basket(24-32 from the line) gives you the best chance to win) and when we get more consistent shooters we will be tough to beat.
  20. ah I hadn't seen that. Interesting that it was dated before the article I posted.still needs unanimous support from presidents though.
  21. absolutely. any high profile player leaving is for the money. can't blame them.
  22. it's the top 6 conference champions. great opportunity for us if we can win aac in next two years. from the ncaa site: The new 12-team College Football Playoff field will include the six highest-ranked conference champions, which will receive automatic bids. How the 12-team College Football Playoff will work: Teams, schedule, bids WWW.NCAA.COM Here's a breakdown of how the new 12-team college football playoffs will work -starting next year - according to CFP officials.
