  1. CCS is still getting paid $3.1 million over the next two years. I do not think Shaun King would be getting anything. IIRC, he was on a year to year $180,000 contract. I do believe Kerwin Bell would be receiving a paycheck next year also.
  2. I would say that is just the cost of doing business. The schools' get advertising, conference money, tickets and concessions....how does that stack up against what the kids get $ based on scholarships, housing, books and food? I would say looking at King's career stats, UH has nothing to complain about based on their investment into him. He beat USF twice, how much would it be worth to a USF fan for him not to have been there? The current set up seems mutually beneficially to me. 3. https://www.americanpress.com/sports/mcneese/gilbert-quits-as-head-coach/article_b0cdf634-1722-5806-9207-f95e3ba4c57d.html Interesting item of note. SG will have to pay McNeese State $100,000 to leave early.
  4. Football Scoop (https://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/) is reporting yesterday that we have a new GA. I don't see it reported anywhere else so take it for whatever that is worth. Here are some highlights of him making one handed grabs back in 2018 while at Clemson. South Florida: Louisiana-Lafayette tight ends quality control Sawyer Jordan has accepted an offensive grad assistant position at USF sources tell FootballScoop.
  5. I don't see the problem with it. This is all about money. The schools and the coaches seem to be making boat loads of it so what is the issue.
  6. Gotta love Coach O. Every time I see that Cajun, he reminds me of Farmer Fran from the Waterboy.
  7. Any argument regarding promoting KB started with the assumption that CCS had USF over a barrel and that we were stuck with this regime for 1 or 2 more seasons. Zero fans here wanted KB as a HC versus the field. But there were many that would take KB, Gilbert, a first down marker, the pirate ship as HC over Charlie Strong.
  8. Well now maybe Taggart can find a place for King. He did get his “My Buddy” Raymond Woodie back. https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/college/conference-usa/florida-atlantic-university/article239074173.html
  9. I think there are two more defensive coaches to be announced but that would complete the staff. If it is true as Owlaccess mentioned that FAU Cornerbacks coach Jason Jones and safeties coach Wes Neighbors have left to join Glenn Spencer at USF then that would be your staff. That obviously wouldn't include all your GA's and analysts.
  10. He is still trying to figure out a way to hide Raymond Woodie on his staff. https://www.tomahawknation.com/florida-state-football-fsu-noles/2017/12/19/16774062/fsu-hires-raymond-woodie-defensive-assitant-coach-willie-taggart-oregon
  11. It was always interesting to me that somehow, someway all these amazing Hillsborough county football players found a family member or guardian who happened to live in the Plant HS District (the most expensive area of Tampa) during their Senior years and would transfer in.
  12. I haven't seen any red flags with any of the hires. Seems like a lot of young coaches with a few experienced guys sprinkled in. I would rather see us fail due to inexperience and have a willingness to evolve or grow versus having old man hubris and just keep making excuses. If I am an under 40 HC, I don't want a bunch of old timers on my staff undercutting my decisions or resenting my age and position.
  13. I always enjoyed Corey's observations and input. Hopefully he will stick around with us. It isn't clear to me if CCS even understands why things worked at Louisville or maybe to some degree his first year here versus Texas or his last 2 years here. I don't get the impression CCS is a very introspective person. Irregardless, he has done well for himself. I tip my cap to him for making as much money as he did off of the work of Clint Hurtt and Teddy Bridgewater. It was a nice little run that has probably run it's course.
  14. Just off the top of my head, Willie Taggart, Marquel Blackwell and Shaun King all served as RB coaches during their coaching careers.
  15. With our OL.....maybe we can just call him the "Anyone in the backfield run for your life" Coach.
  16. True that 2005 game was really his only "good" game against us in his 4 years. He ended up 2-2 versus USF but that 2008 win wasn't anything special. This will now be the 2nd player who joins our coaching staff who I recall running all over us. Willie T put up over 200 plus yards on us in 1998.
  17. USF has not announced that but I would think it is accurate. In another article Owl Access says that “sources” tell them that those two will follow Spencer to USF. http://fauowlaccess.com/weis-spencer-reunited/15004/2019/12/23/
  18. I am guessing it's because the volleyball season just ended on 12/22 and then we have the holidays. I would imagine Kelly will make the hire in January. https://www.ncaa.com/news/volleyball-women/article/2019-12-22/2019-di-womens-college-volleyball-championship-bracket
