  1. Go for the field goal, go down by two with five minutes to go. If you don't make ite, we have only scored one TD all day and now your putting all on scoring another TD with little time left in the game. Too unlikely. Plus, you use Denson who hasn't played much and expect him to throw a TD?? How many times have these "finesse" plays near the goal line back fired?? They are high risk with high reward but surely we've got a better ball play than that? The Denson pass play may be more successful with more room in the end-zone but WTF!!! What is up with Julmiste throwing long with good field position late in the game?? I brought this up last week; our routes are deep only with no underneath routes. We didn't need to go deep just yet. Pathetic game calling.
  2. When you leave Rod, take your playbook and your game plan. It is extremely simplistic and easy for the "D" to anticipate and game plan. Trust me, my wife was picking-up on the "Hall up the middle" scheme. Cincy did that last week too. I think WVU would have schemed our game plan, not very imaginative.
  3. Do you think the opposing teams have figured out that we are a one-dimensional (Hall) one-dimensional team (running game)?
  4. Yes we played great against Louisville. To me, the UCF game was also great football as we had only five penalties and completely controlled the line of scrimmage. Unfortunately, getting 19 penalties against WVU would make it extremely difficult getting us to the Sugar Bowl.
  5. We need to play smarter football to get to compete on the next level. Too many mental mistakes in my book to take great comfort.
  6. PJ had a very good game; strong arm; good throws; no turnovers. The only negative is that he continues to lock onto one receiver and does not go through his progressions of checking to other receivers. I think our overall passing attack (routes) is a freaking joke. From what I saw, we went deep twice, however, there were no under or intermediate routes; its long or nothing. I have yet to see any clear-out routes and let the receiver slip into a vacated zoned. 'Nati did this several times with success. I didn't see enough (IMO) of islolating Hall one-on-one in the flats enough. He is so freaking good its unbelievable and a great team player and will make a great pro one day. We are too one dimensional its almost embarrasing. The Cincy "D" keyed on Hall and played a very good game. Yet, we did not alter our formations; change attack, etc. We lined-up and hand the ball off to Hall on 1st and 2nd downs up the middle to set-up the 3rd and five. We are very predicatable. Need to use Hall as a decoy more because we are not fooling anyone with our game plan. Overall, receivers played well with a few dropped balls but Chambers had one great 3rd down catch to keep a touchdown scoring drive alive.
  7. From what I saw at the game, several to me were questionable holding calls; blocks in the back on the punt returns, etc. The refs in this game, I felt, called a very tight game where officials in other games maybe would not make the call. I know I saw holding on ' Nati more than once in the game that was not called. I don't think we will catch any breaks from this point forward since we may be crashing the BSC party.
  8. I heard about the radio talk show. A friend of mine that lives in Atlanta called me this morning asking if USF had a shot at the Sugar Bowl (Hell Yes!!!) Obviously, there was a lot derogatory comments about the Big East and USF.
  9. About six to eight months ago I suggested Steve Deberg be considered for the QB coach. He lives in Tampa and I assume is availble. My understanding is that he is bright and really knew the QB position. I'm still for his consideration.
  10. I can't believe this. We were hit by Charley and we just moved back home last month. Now, it looks like it is headed back to Charlotte County. I guess I should call my contractor and be first on his list to rebuild our home a second time!!
  11. Elgin Hicks - The guy overcame a lot of personal challenges to earn his degree.
  12. Gaines had a huge play to stop the UL wide receiver at the 3 on the last play before half. If he didn't stop him, USF goes into half with 24-14 lead and the Mo. What was up with that play anyway?
  13. Nothing like getting boned in the @ss just so that UL can keep that Top Ten ranking!!!! These officials suck and and it looks like the fix is in.
  14. My understanding also is that ESPNU picked up both the WVU and Syracuse games.
  15. I have always found it amusing the contradiction in Duemig's position of wearing other team's gear to a Lightning or Bucs home game, particularly if one resides in the Bay area. Yet, he consistently undermines the "home town" Bulls and favors the 'Canes. As I've said before, I no longer have to listen to Sileo or Dueming as it is great having satelite radio.
  16. I like the different look at RB with Hall taking a breather. Ponton providing power with speed and Simpson just flat-out fast!! I was very impressed with Simpson and hope to see him on the field more often.
  17. I don't listen to him, I have SATELITE RADIO!!!. Also, his 'Canes WRs dropped several balls Monday night, particularly Leggett, who is supposed to be All-World. He probably didn't bring that up.
  18. PJ looked good. He is our starter for the next two years. I was disappointed the alleged speed of Denson. When throwing, he had little velocity on ball. Sorry, but 5"11 is small for a QB. He planted one pass in the numbers of a PSU DL. Not even sure if the guy had to jump. Probably need to start working Carlton Hill with some reps in practice.
  19. TJ is a hell of a footballer!! That was an awesome tackle!! Overall, I thought the DL looked good, which was a concern of mine going into the game.
  20. I saw bright spots. The OL made a lot of adjustments and from the mid-point in the 2nd quarter looked good. I was really nervous duing the 1st quarter. Yes the WR dropped too many balls but once we settled down, I thought we looked good. Pat Julmiste looked good!! I wish he would throw the short ball with more touch/finess. He will be our QB for the next two years. Carlton Hill should be 2nd team QB but what a hell of an athlete that guy is!!! We have some good athletes out there!!!
  21. Hey, Your'e namsake had a good game! I have been pulling for the guy for two years. Looking forward to a big year from him. Overall, I thought the entire "D" played well. There is one spot on "D" I wasn't pleased with but I will never call any player out. I am optimistic for the year!!
