  2. It makes be wonder if we should all lobby the TSA for better treatment. Eric Hart, CFE President & CEO 813-350-6500 ceo@tampasportsauthority.com
  3. I think he is just saying "a" share of the revenue, not "the same" share. Anything would be an improvement at this point.
  4. With a 24 month out-clause, it's not a big deal either way. Hopefully we get a better deal this time:
  5. (1) Does Harlan stay or leave for Brad's desert paradise? >> Stay (2) Will we hire a Men's bball coach who will turn things around and get us back to the Dance? >> No time soon... (3) Will we sign a good class filled with 3-stars and above? >> Not this year. NEXT year is the one everyone should be watching.
  6. The "pressure" at USF is not compatible to the pressure at UT. At UT, the boosters OWN the program and demand tons of off-the-field junk from their coaches. They also have the (no longer realistic?) belief that they should be a top 5 program every year. At UT you are a failure as a coach unless you win 10 games every year and bow down to rich morons is cowboy boots weekly. Then, on top of the crazy expectations and boosters, you have to deal with the school owning its own TV network. It's a horrible job (but the money is great). At USF, all you need to do is win some games and smile for the cameras.

  8. http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/18439150/college-football-full-list-odds-win-2017-18-college-football-national-championship-game Looks like we have the best odds for a G5 school. I guess that's fair...

  10. IF we go 13-0, don't worry you'll get to see how they keep us out.
  11. Here is the 2016 college football 128-team playoff bracket. Pretty neat. We lost to FSU in the 4th round BTW... FROM: http://www.bcftoys.com/2016-bracket
  12. If he sticks around for more then 4 or 5 years it will be because of uneven coaching and some bad seasons. If he is consistently successful, he will be gone in 3 years.
  13. I would like more (and more optimistic) local USF coverage too, but the Tampabay Times is a media company that serves their customers. They have the metrics that show what moves the needle for them and it's clearly not USF coverage. If it was they would cover us more. It's that simple. We need to win games, and then win the area's hearts. THEN we will get more local coverage. It's not just the Times. I noticed that the Channel 10 (local CBS) had a fairly lengthy sports segment this morning and they didn't even mention the bowl game. USF needs to build fans in the area. The local media companies have already shown that they don't feel the need to help us grow the fan-base. However if the product on the field grows the fan-base, then the local media companies will be forced to cover us more.
  14. Of course it's crap, but it's crap that helps the established elites. So it's crap that is likely going to stay. This is a decision that will be made by those that the "crap" helps. Why would they unilaterally let others in on the money when they don't need to?
  15. Unless it grows to 8 teams, you'll likely just see P5 Conference champs plus the "best remaining team." (We were talking about a 6 team playoff above.)
  16. I would love to see that too. It would be the best-case scenario for us, but it doesn't benefit the current P5 conferences or their teams so it likely won't happen.
  17. That was my first thought also, but the better comparison is probably the FCS Championship: http://www.ncaa.com/championships/football/fcs
  18. More at: http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18369921/growing-number-group-5-officials-considering-playoff-non-power-5-teams Personally I think that for every non-AAC conference this makes complete sense right now, and the unfortunately truth is it might really make sense for us too (but I refuse to admit it).
