  1. Trust me, if you live in Big 10 country and watch any amount of Michigan games you'd know that they get a ton of breaks from the refs & have too many lucky things go their way. It just seems like justice that they lose in great fashion every now & then. Colorado game of the past - Minnesota game this year - Nebraska this year - just to name a few.
  2. It will take a few things for people (fans) to get totally hooked: 1. Time. 2. Winning records. 3. Playing, and beating: UM, UF & FSU. 4. Repeated bowl appearances. 5. OCS. However, a National Championship would solve all problems instantly.
  3. Pretty cool. But, weird they showed AH in a Browns uniform. He went to Dallas before this season even started.
  4. Well, as much as you can and still post 30,000+ times... ;D
  5. Was just wondering what some other posters were doing for the holidays? Going to my brother's for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. My Mom came up from NC. Will have snacks & drinks Christmas Eve, watch It's a Wonderful Life, open presents Christmas morning, and have a nice dinner Christmas evening. Will watch tons of bowl games (the sports-related tie-in) - which - obviously - includes USF kicking NC State's ass. Will stay home New Year's Eve and have food & drinks with some friends. (Why get involved in Amateur Night?).
  6. Actually, 3 reasons: 1. Bobby Bowden. Redneck, Alzheimer's patient (maybe he just has Mad Cow) that should have retired 5+ years ago. 2. Tomahawk chop. Makes me want to puke everytime I see it (which, leads to #3). 3. Annoying fans. Still live in the past, and they are just, well, annoying. ÂÂ
  7. Bottom line, the ONLY way he'll GET the point is if USF wins the game. Then, email him.
  8. So, officially, USF is the largest university in Florida?
  9. I got these numbers from the ESPN recruiting page, so it's semi-sports related if you were a prospect and it mattered how large the school was you were planning on attending. I thought I read somewhere last year that USF had become the largest school in Florida. However, according to the ESPN listings: 1. University of Florida, 32,680. 2. University of Central Florida, 28,252. 3. USF, 27,384. 4. FSU, 27,014. 5. FIU, 26,222. 6. Florida Atlantic, 17,016. 7. UM, 8,955.
  10. That would be awesome if he signed with USF. Also, lived in SW Florida for 14 years, and NOT ONCE did I ever hear ANYONE refer to Miami as "U" .
  11. Exactly. Make points. Use logic (when readily available & at your disposal depending on your current IQ level). Don't name call. Drink heavily. It's simple. I'm working on it. Give me time. Have a little faith.  ;D Oh, and BTW, at least I've donated $$$ in the past to help keep this board going...
  12. OMG, you voiced your opinion? What is wrong with you - don't you know you're NOT suppose to have an opinion other than everyone else that posts here? Shame on you.
  13. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Winter Storm Warning, and while I was shoveling the sidewalk I swore I heard Bing Crosby's, White Christmas, playing in the background.  Must have been an acid flashback... Christmas season just wasn't the same in the 14 years I lived in Florida. However, must say that it gets a bit old by the end of February and into March. Anyway, taking the dogs out to play in the white stuff.
  14. Oh, and BTW, do I have to spell out things for the people that attend the other Big East schools? Mainly, the Louisville fans that were beaten like a drum by USF. The predicted high in Louisville on bowl day is 42 degrees. In Florida it's mid-60's & will most likely be warmer. You could hold underwater basket weaving tournament in Florida and you're probably going to have a better turnout. Doesn't really have anything to do with the "other" events going on. People are tired of the cold, and will look for any reason to head south. A bowl game just happens to be a great reason...
  15. I make tiny animal carvings from petrified goat droppings, and sell them outside the gates at University of Florida games. Really, work at a college testing center while getting my graduate degree.
  16. Thanks for the info. That seems to be exactly what is going on.
  17. ...for awhile longer. Know most of you didn't like my post about the last 2 loses, and my thoughts on Leavitt - but - guess that's what makes America great in that you don't have to agree with everyone all the time. And, PLEASE, never misunderstand this point. I root for USF in ALL THINGS at ALL TIMES. Just want them to be the best they can be. Period. However, just got back my last medical test results. NO MASS - NO CANCER! The doctor said I had some type of bacterial infection, and he is still trying to figure out why my left hand is going partially numb. But, it IS NOT cancer! 3 weeks of worrying HELL is over...
  18. I was just going to let this die for so many obvious reasons, but not going to be called a jerkoff by someone like you and just let it slide. Plus, I just LOVE people that hide behind their keyboard to name call. Jerkoff? Nice. From what I've seen on this board, you THINK you know everything. Miami Bobcat just another example that proves you don't. What the hell are you talking about? Also, I can root for whichever team I wish & do it however I wish. If you don't like it, that's fine but keep the names to yourself. Sorry if the fact that: 1. I don't like Leavitt as a coach. 2. I don't feel that he can lead this team to the next level. 3. I am not super happy that USF made the Carquest Bowl when they could have been in a BCS bowl game. 4. I'm not just going to say to myself, you, or anyone else. "Oh well, that's okay that USF just lost 2 games in a row - we're going bowling." Hell, more than 1/2 the bowl games no one gives a **** about, and shouldn't even exist unless they started using them as games for the playoff system that should exist in college football anyway. So, send your user ID to me - and, if I'm right in a couple of years I'll send you a "Told-you-so-gram - you can kiss my big, white, hairless ass". If I'm not, you can send me the one that reads whatever you wish. Until then, don't type anything aimed directly at me that I know you can't back up...
  19. That's hilarious when people speak their mind, and you automatically put me in the, "He's so negative about life," category. Maybe I strive for more than mediocrity in everything I do, and expect others to do the same? And, BTW, besides the fact that I have some unknown mass in my body, I have a GREAT life. Okay, let's all be put on our BULLS-colored goggles, and just be happy with just "making" a bowl game, and not winning the Big East or getting a BCS bid. WVU just got LOADS better than USF for at least 2 years - or any other team in the Big East - by making a BCS bowl. Money and prime-time TV does wonders for recruiting. Oh, I guess that's negative to say too...sorry.
  20. No, see, I'm not a cranky old loser. I'm a happy educated want-to-be-winner. Leavitt isn't the guy that's going to bring those wins to me. I have a great life. I love my job, make good money, have a beautiful girlfriend. But, I want the sports teams in which I root to do one thing - win. There is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NO REASON that shouldn't be happening RIGHT NOW. Next year? Kiss my ass with your next years. Like I said, Weis turned Notre Dame around in ONE season. They have been pathetic for at least the last decade. You know what he did? He gave them discipline, hope, and a game plan. Wow. Rocket science. Leavitt can't keep the O-line from false-starting 5 times a game. Two different sides of the spectrum. But, that's okay, you go ahead and be all warm & fuzzy about the $5 Car Wash Bowl. I'll watch the game, and root for USF. May even drink a few beers and fart some. But, won't be happy knowing they could have been playing as the Big East Champion. Oh, you know, we shouldn't have probably won that in the first year anyway....sorry....my bad.
  21. The attitude of this board (or maybe the attitude of the fans) needs to change. Too happy about getting a team, too happy about the new facility, too happy about getting into the Big East. All those things have already happened, and they are in the past. You people seem a little too happy about losing. Sports is about winning and losing. Period. Throw everything else in there you wish, and it's still about winning and losing. I attended USF when there wasn't a football team. Kept wondering to myself why they didn't build up the basketball team if they weren't ever going to have a footaball team. Never happened. Still has never happened. Football team gets talked about. Everyone gets excited. Build up. Jump divisions. Get some wins. Jump into Big East, and BINGO, expectations rise IMMEDIATELY. Not down the road, not in a few years. IMMEDIATELY. Leavitt continually makes poor coaching calls, has undisciplined teams, and loses to teams USF could play with, and beat, and all along everyone gives him a trail of flowery 'that's okay's' - 'cus wait til next year. Ain't buying it. Next year SHOULD have been this year. Keep 'em coming. Leavitt isn't the guy. USF will not finish any better that 7-5 with him coaching in the next few years. Heard it here first. Been around the sport enough to know talent, see talent, and watch the man in charge. That's why I'm pissed. Contract extension. Mediocre coach leading a team to mediocre seasons...
  22. To crappy losses. Two PROGRAM CHANGING loses. How can you possibly be happy to just say, "Oh well, we made it to a bowl game, and we weren't even suppose to do that this year". Why didn't they win? Why couldn' they have won the Big East? Why couldn't they be getting millions & millions of dollars to be in a BCS bowl game? Oh, just wait until next year. Famous last words...
