Decided to stay home and watch the game instead of heading up the street to the bar. DVR'd it so I could stop when I wanted, replay, or hit the slow motion. Besides a couple of factors, it was just another typical USF game. Grothe is a keeper. That kid showed poise, maturity, and guts. He is the man for 4 years. I like his enthusiasm, he can run, and has zip on the ball. But, a one-dimensional team will not win. Oh, wait, Rutgers - the running team - just did. The first Rutgers TD should have been a FG. They got the gift spot on the 3rd down play. About 1 1/2 to 2 yards worth of a spot. What the hell? I'm tired of referees making such huge mistakes in games. The defense gave up way too many ground yards. Holy crap. Rutgers doesn't throw the ball. That must have been a surprise to JL & the DC. Why they didn't have 8 men in the box at ALL times is beyond me. 3rd & 2...you think they are going to run? Gee, they did. Surprised? Why? I could have told you that from Mars. Penalties keep piling up. Said it before and will say it again. Don Shula - remember him - HOF coach - once said you can tell the discipline & ability of the coach by how many penalties the team has in games. USF has way too many, and way too many stupid ones. I think I heard the announcers correctly that only 6 teams in Division I football have more. I am just not a Leavitt fan whatsoever. Watching him run around, jump up and down, pick his nose, and act like an idiot just don't sit well with me. He looks like a circus act on the sidelines, and just don't see how any of the players respect him. Plus, what man that isn't on the PGA tour wears a visor? Is there a running back on the team that actually knows how to run? They do realize you go north to south, right? When your QB is the leading rusher...it's just not a good thing unless your Oklahoma of the 70's. The WR's keep dropping balls. Tough to catch them when they are right in their hands. USF may beat Syracuse, North Carolina, and UConn, none are a given. They will lose to Cincy, UL, Pitt and WVU BADLY. It's going to be a long year. But, hey, there's always next year, and they've only been playing football for 10 years.
