  1. As, per Pink Floyd... Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone home?
  2. I have NO, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA affiliation with this site other than I graduated from USF. Been pretty critical of the team lately, and have been hit up a few times to put my money where my mouth is...so-to-speak. And, with that...this was posted from E.T. So, I just decided to go ahead and donate. Did the same last year, and put out a thread about helping this place out. To my knowledge not one person responded. So, let's see who else is willing to put their money where their mouth is. Most of you seem to LOVE bashing me. At least I try to help this place out. C'mon. Any takers? It took me all of 30 seconds to donate via PayPal. My bet on this one is people will act like they didn't see this thread, and it quickly falls off the front page. ÂÂ
  3. Actually, just donated $75. Anyone else care to put their money where their mouth is? How about this dude... And, yes, I've watched the games this year. They just lost last night AT HOME to Rutgers. What exactly is your point?
  4. Am I starting to see a little dissension on the way things are being done for this team? Interesting...
  5. How about just a "gentleman's bet" and I donate $50? I'll go get my CC right now and send it via PayPal. I'm not trying to make enemies here, just stating things the way I see them.
  6. And, they beat USF...so, what does that say about this program.
  7. ! Yes, I played competitive sports my entire life. Leavitt is a circus act on the sidelines. USF lost by 2 points AT HOME to Rutgers. They ARE NOT the #23 team in the country. They aren't even the 3rd best team in the Big East. They are a team that hasn't played anyone...INCLUDING USF. They will not be ranked by season's end. Period. Lost by 2? You think they played Ohio State and gave them a game. Rutgers has been ranked for 6 weeks in 138 years of playing football, and last time in 1976...or some BS like that. C'mon.
  8. Cincy by 2 TD's. UL by 3+. WVU will most likely be over by halftime.
  9. Decided to stay home and watch the game instead of heading up the street to the bar. DVR'd it so I could stop when I wanted, replay, or hit the slow motion. Besides a couple of factors, it was just another typical USF game. Grothe is a keeper. That kid showed poise, maturity, and guts. He is the man for 4 years. I like his enthusiasm, he can run, and has zip on the ball. But, a one-dimensional team will not win. Oh, wait, Rutgers - the running team - just did. The first Rutgers TD should have been a FG. They got the gift spot on the 3rd down play. About 1 1/2 to 2 yards worth of a spot. What the hell? I'm tired of referees making such huge mistakes in games. The defense gave up way too many ground yards. Holy crap. Rutgers doesn't throw the ball. That must have been a surprise to JL & the DC. Why they didn't have 8 men in the box at ALL times is beyond me. 3rd & 2...you think they are going to run? Gee, they did. Surprised? Why? I could have told you that from Mars. Penalties keep piling up. Said it before and will say it again. Don Shula - remember him - HOF coach - once said you can tell the discipline & ability of the coach by how many penalties the team has in games. USF has way too many, and way too many stupid ones. I think I heard the announcers correctly that only 6 teams in Division I football have more. I am just not a Leavitt fan whatsoever. Watching him run around, jump up and down, pick his nose, and act like an idiot just don't sit well with me. He looks like a circus act on the sidelines, and just don't see how any of the players respect him. Plus, what man that isn't on the PGA tour wears a visor? Is there a running back on the team that actually knows how to run? They do realize you go north to south, right? When your QB is the leading rusher...it's just not a good thing unless your Oklahoma of the 70's. The WR's keep dropping balls. Tough to catch them when they are right in their hands. USF may beat Syracuse, North Carolina, and UConn, none are a given. They will lose to Cincy, UL, Pitt and WVU BADLY. It's going to be a long year. But, hey, there's always next year, and they've only been playing football for 10 years.
  10. Well, if it weren't for all the trouble some of the players have gotten into over the past few years, and a few bowl victories, I'd say he's right in the running.  :-/
  11. Was on another sports thread and talking about the fact that an UN alumni has paid for planes to fly over/around before the UM game this weekend. They will be pulling signs that read, Fire Coker, and, Enough is Enough. Obviously, he's not well liked down there. Anyway, one of the posters thinks if he does get fired that UM will give Schiano high consideration. Interesting thought.
  12. A fellow USF grad living in Columbus? I'll probably go to Gibby's. I could hit a golf ball and doink it off the roof with a pitching wedge. Live right downt the street in Grandview so no drinking & driving.
  13. Would that be the same Barry Sanders that in winning the Heisman Trophy in 1988, Barry set 25 NCAA records? Or, the one that is arguably in the Top 5 best running backs in NFL history? The HOF'er?
  14. Live in Columbus, Ohio. So, I'm either going to sit back and relax with a 12-pack of Warsteiner in my favorite leather chair, or head up the street to a cool bar in my neighborhood. Actually, maybe a little of both. You?
  15. Yeah, I heard that too last night. Fowler was setting him up to talk about USF having the chance to knock them off at home, and Herbsteit blew right past it and said, "Rutgers will be 6 - 0 when they meet Pittsburgh," or something like that. USF should win this game. But, they need to stop their running back.
  16. Nope. Been here for a LONG time holding up my end of the USF fan base. Actually, since it's casual day at work...sitting here with my USF hooded sweatshirt (yes, it's Fall) and wearing my USF BULLS T-shirt underneath. Have actually run into 3 people in Columbus that stopped me wearing USF attire and said they graduated from the school.
  17. Bandwagon? Who is going to bandwagon because a team beats Rutgers AT HOME? North Carolina, Illinois, Ohio, Howard? They all suck. USF should win this game or it's going to be a long year. Rutgers Sep 2 @North Carolina Won 21-16 Sep 9 Illinois Won 33-0 Sep 16 Ohio Won 24-7 Sep 23 Howard Won 56-7
  18. There's a nice high school about 2 blocks from my house. Every year for the last 3 years my girlfriend and I talk about going to a game. They are a pretty decent team. Made it through districts last season after winning their division. We have absolutely no stake in the high school - well, I guess we do in that our taxes helps pay for it. But, we have no children and don't know anyone else that has children that play. So, it's been 3 years now of talking about going and 3 years of not doing it. Always seems like something better is going on. Like someone else stated, there really isn't much of a draw for the non-high school group. Plus, JL should be dancing in the streets every time USF is on national TV. I don't care if the game is played on Wednesday afternoon.
  19. My vote made it 59,230 and 512 behind. I subtracted the two for those results. See, my USF education is paying off.
  20. So, now they have to have season tickets, be active, and donate? Anything else? Wash JL's car, drive the team bus, etc.?
  21. So, let me get this straight. You have to be a season ticket holder in order to come here and hold an intelligent conversation or post something that may go against the team, coaches, or some other message board poster? Interesting... A comment that if the USF job opened up there may be some coaches more capable of JL coaching? And, that lost credibility for you? You obviously think JL is the best thing since sliced bread.
  22. I could throw a lot of names to you, but there are a lot of factors involved - mainly, when are you talking about job being open? Next year? 2 years? Plus, if the job became available there would most likely be more names thrown into the list of coaches that were thought to be happy & staying were they are presently. To me, coaching USF would be a pretty attractive proposition for many top-notch coaches.
  23. Great point. Sometimes teams get labeled and it's hard for that label to be overcome. I think most fans agree that USF doesn't want to be talked about with the FIU and UCF's of the football world, and would like to surpass those type programs and never look back.
  24. In what way? That everyone on here isn't a JL ass kissing suck-up?
  25. Man, isn't that the truth. You could hear him making slurping noises, and I swear it sounded like while he was talking they were going to fall out of his mouth.
