  1. Exactly! We want to go to a bowl game? Well, here's our chance to get recognized. Louisville beats Miami at Miami, and we beat Louisville at Louisville. If you want to go to bowl games, you have to win big games. BTW, Louisville is making Miami look bad. Fake punt....SWEET!
  2. Sorry. I meant to get this on last night because I knew I'd be very busy today - and I simply forgot. 1. You’ve just won $10 million in the lottery – what now? 2. You’ve just become USF’s president – what is your first action in office? 3. You’ve discovered time travel – what famous person of the past would you like meet? 4. You’re headed to THE CHAIR – what’s your last meal? 5. You’re USF’s head football coach, and you’re calling the plays. The offense has a 1st down on it’s own 40-yard line. What play do you call? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1. First, I set my family up financially. Then, I start looking where to build my lake house. Finally, I start my own shelter for homeless animals. 2. I know a lot are against it, but I start getting the support & funding for an on-campus stadium. 3. Ben Franklin. Just seemed like an interesting dude. 4. Steak, lobster, oysters, baked potato, texas toast. Finish it off with chocolate/chocolate chip ice cream. 5. Flea-flicker - much like the one the Ravens pulled off last Monday night.
  3. ****. Guilt. I like it. But, maybe they should do it like my old high school B-ball coach. If you missed a free throw in a game, you chose some one else from the team to do a suicide 7-up for you. After about week 3, we were a **** good free throw shooting team. So, if someone gets a penalty - they chose some one else from the team to run. It would them think about it all week long.
  4. I know they will probably need some help down the road, but JUST WIN BABY, and then hope for the best for a bowl birth.
  5. The players are on the field "doing" the stupid penalties, but the coach has to find a way to stop them. Benching - whatever - but, it's up to JL to figure it out.
  6. I'm sorry about your loss. We lost Ranger, 12-year-old Golden, about a month ago. I've had dogs my entire life, and simply put, he was THE BEST DOG that I have ever been around - and, he was my girlfriend's dog - not mine. Maybe it's time for another? I know it's tough, but there are a lot of wonderful "homeless" dogs out there that would be greatful for a loving home.
  7. 1. Did you watch the presidential debate? If so, you do you feel won? 2. What kind of car do you drive? 3. What, if any, sport(s) did you play in high school? 4. Do you have a pet, or pets? Name(s). Age(s)? 5. What is your favorite line from any movie ever? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1. Yes. To me, it was a toss-up. 2. Nissan X-Terra. 3. Basketball / Track. 4. Yes. We have lots. My girlfriend volunteers for the humane society. Patches, Dalmation, 9 years old. Rogan, English Springer Spaniel, 3 years old. Henley, Cat, 9 years old. Pogey, Cat, 9 years old (Henley's sister). Mickey, Cat, 2 years old. Kyle, Cat, 3 months old (We are fostering him for the shelter). 5. Outlaw Jose Wales. Clint Eastwood, "Dying ain't much of a livin' ". ***Side note: The side business listed in my signature line - K9Coffee - a portion of the proceeds go towards area non-profit animal shelters. So, Drink Coffee - Save Animals! Thanks for any support!
  8. I'm glad someone else said this about undisciplined & no adjustments from the coaching staff. I put a thread on here after the game Saturday, but deleted it because I didn't want to take anything away from an unbelievable win. I couldn't believe the amount of penalties, and put a quote in the thread where Don Shula once stated that you could tell how good a coach was by the amount of penalties his team had weekly. But, after reading this thread I see where some of you feel that it was bad officiating. It's impossible to tell when you listen to the game instead of watch it. So, I'm giving you all the benefit of the doubt. But, it's something to think about when we do seem to have a huge number of penalties each week.
  9. My Dad has been fighting it for years. His overall health is not very good, and they kinda dismissed it to some of the medications he is on - even though he doesn't feel it was the case. It took away the one thing he really enjoyed - and, that was golf.
  10. ...started? 2. Why was it started? 3. What was the goal? 4. Who started it? 5. Who maintains it? Just curious. I'm kinda going back to the how can we get the word out, and expand the fan-base on the site - thing. I probably know a couple of the answers, but nice to here it from the source(s).
  11. Well, using that theory - I wouldn't have added any this week after the South Carolina game. They gave up four to South Carolina. So, it would have been "1 Question Friday".
  12. 1. What is your favorite sports movie? 2. If you could add one present college football player   to the USF roster, who would it be? 3. What is the best road trip you have ever been on    (does not have to be sports related)? 4. What & where was the best concert you've ever   seen?  5. Should I continue to do 5 question Friday? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1. This is a REALLY tough one because there are a lot of great ones - but, I'll go with Slap Shot. 2. Sonny Cumbie, QB, Texas Tech. 3. Left Fort Myers one morning in a friend's Buick Skylark convertible, and drove to Atlanta to watch a Braves game. Then, hung out in Atlanta for a couple of days. We didn't even know we were going to go until that morning. Spontaneous & a blast. 4. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Miami Orange   Bowl. Played for almost 4 hours, and it was   unbelievable. 5. It's up to you...
  13. Here's to hoping they figure out how to help him. He's a good NFL player, and seems to be a good guy.
  14. Fired, maybe. Leave? Why would he leave? He's isolated himself into the only person in the front office other than the owner. He's got it made until the losses start to mount up again. Fan pressure is the ONLY way he's going to get fired.
  15. Let's just hope the phrase, "You're going to be playing to some of the largest TV markets in the country," is on an index card that all the coaches are using to recruit players. We will soon have the opportunity to get GREAT players from Florida, and the northeast. Something we have yet to do - seriously recruit in other areas outside of Florida. If we don't become the new football powerhouse in the Big East, I will be greatly surprised. Let's see, you could play in Pittsburgh, Louisville, Cincy, blah, blah, blah, OR you could play in sunny Tampa, Florida where the girls are hot, the days sunny, and the beach is just a few miles away.
  16. No emails, but does anyone know any of these people? About the Oracle The Oracle Staff - Summer 2004 May 01, 2003 The Oracle 4202 E. 17. Here's the link to the Oracle, but didn't see a contact: http://www.usforacle.com/ I can't believe this site has been up for as long as it has, and not be mentioned in the school paper. Someone get a contact, post the email, and we can all email them to show our support for a story about this site.
  18. Wow. To be honest with you, I don't even remember. I've been coming here for awhile now. I'm an '87 USF grad, and now live in Columbus, Ohio. I must have just done a search, and found it that way, but like I said, not totally sure. I'd love to help out some way, but I don't really keep in touch with anyone from USF any longer. I did for awhile, but people just seem to go there separate ways. I'm not sure what I could do to help out in Ohio - especially, since I live about 2 miles from Ohio State, and am presently trying to become one of their employees.
  19. Just checked and saw where there were something like 1188 members on this website. Seems like a VERY SMALL percentage of people vs. the number of students & alumni. What can we do to raise that number? Thoughts? I'd like to see this site become HUGE, and South Florida become the #1 school in ALL aspects in Florida. GO BULLS!!!
  20. According to Dennis Dodd of CBSSportsline.com Big East lacks respect even within itself... http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/7700965
  21. The ONLY bright spot on a dismal Brown's team. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5545
  22. Once again - slightly early - but, I'm going out-of-town tomorrow. So, here goes. 1. If you could: A) Hit the winning homerun in the World Series. Sink a 20-foot putt to win The Master's. C) Catch the winning pass in the Super Bowl. D) Make a 3-pointer to win the NBA finals. E) Win a gold medal in 'any' Olympic event (specify event). Which would you choose? 2. What is your favorite television show ever? 3. Who is the best player today in the: A) NFL? MLB? C) NBA? 4. What is the last CD you listened to? 5. What is your hangover cure? Mine are: 1. B. Then, I dedicate the win to my dad for patiently teaching me the game. 2. Seinfeld. 3. A. Priest Holmes B. Barry Bonds C. Kobe Bryant 4. GNR's Greatest Hits. 5. 4 aspirin, lots of water, & more sleep.
  23. Any word on the financial situation of the family? This has got to be tough on them, and the bills are going to start adding up. Paypal has a donation icon. Could we all help them out?
