  1. 52,322 screaming fans - all wearing USF apparel. Hope you have room...but, if not - we'll just crowd into the local bars...
  2. Well, to most basketball players, the standard one-on-one game is "Make it - take it, 1 point each to 21, win by two." With that said, it's simply who's a better offensive player. Defensive players will slow you down, but never stop you totally. Charlie Bradley.
  3. Bottom line of the Clarett deal is that if the "others" do it (ie NHL, NBA, MLB) then the NFL shouldn't be any different. What I want to know is that if an organization says you have to be (for example) 21-years-old to "apply", then doesn't that cover it? Police, for example, have to be a certain age to even "apply". Why doesn't the NFL just adapt that rule instead of skating around the class ruling? Just a thought.
  4. In the Ross Gellar voice tones, "Could it BE anymore slow for USF sports right now"? One college football point of interest today. Maurice Clarett got banned from joining the NFL. Even though he is going to appeal (again) - it doesn't seem like he will be in the NFL this year. He would have been better off apologizing to the team & fans, and staying with the Buckeyes. Possible Heisman trophy, and a much better draft pick. A better thing couldn't have happened to a more self-serving person. Maybe some good will come out of this and more players will stay in college.
  5. Louisville is a cool stadium, but kinda in a crappy part of town. But, granny (97-years-old this year) lives in Louisville, so I will be at that one, and get to visit her too. BTW, who the hell eats enough Papa John's pizza to warrant having a stadium built? That pizza blows!
  6. Hey, good news! The admissions department found out what happened. Apparently, this man... http://www.ucbearcats.com/photos/476.jpg ...decided to try to use my credentials to become the next basketball coach at Notre Dame.
  7. Maybe I could just have the application fee credited to a couple of tickets to this year's USF / Cincy game? Cincinnati Bearastards!!!
  8. I applied to the University of Cincinnati to start my MEd. They cashed my check, and lost all of my application materials...
  9. Can we start auctioning off degrees from USF on eBay? A BA in English should go for say, 32K. An MBA should be about, 42K. By the end of the year we should have enough money to build a new stadium. Just a thought.
  10. See, what I've been saying all along... http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/7337606
  11. Quick, name the AD's at Oklahoma, Miami, LSU, UConn, USC, and Kentucky.
  12. Can I borrow your crackpipe? Trust me, no one outside a 200 mile radius would care about a USF vs. UCF match-up. Much less it earning national recognition.
  13. Somehow this seems weirdly appropriate... BILL OF NON-RIGHTS ****** THE ARTICLES ****** ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything. ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be. ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy. ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes. ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care. ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, ****, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair. ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure. ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights. ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (lastly...) ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!!!!
  14. Hey, I said nothing about making them register. They should have to register. However, you can still register on most sites under bogus names, emails, etc. I just say people should get to voice different opinions. You have to admit that there are some "rose colored" opinions even when it's bad news. It's actually kinda nice to see how others view what happens at USF, or with players, etc. If you know it's some dude from UCF, just drive to his house, apt., or condo, and pay him a visit. Some USF bull horns jammed up the center of his buttocks could make him stop. However, that's kinda contradicting my own point...
  15. Hey, you guys remember a little thing called The Bill of Rights? It states a little "something" about freedom of speech. You may want to read it. While I am a die-hard USF fan, I couldn't imagine a board without BOTH views on any particular topic. It makes you think, it gives perspective, and it's fun as hell bashing the poster when you don't agree. Don't know about the rest of you, and you probably couldn't care less, but you ban people from posting here, and I'm gone too. I had quite a see-saw verbal battle with Mike G a few months ago, and because of being able to voice our opinions I now have a great deal of respect for the guy and I've never even met him. I just think everyone should have an voice. Good or bad. ÂÂ
  16. Naples Daily News Football: Estero High to retire Henry's number By DANA OPPEDISANO, doppedisano@naplesnews.com May 7, 2004 Joe Hampton, documentary filmmaker? The Estero High boys track coach  who resigned as football coach after 12 seasons in 2000  jokingly referred to himself as a "consultant" on the eight-and-a- half minute video montage that will accompany the jersey retiring of Cleveland Browns' defensive back Anthony Henry at his alma mater Saturday. "I had to cut it," Hampton said with a laugh. "The first time I went through, I had six or seven minutes from just high school. His whole highlight tape was 30 minutes!" Henry, who had 56 tackles and an interception in his third season with the Browns in 2003, will present an outstanding male and female athlete award at the school's "Spring Fling Sports Celebration" Saturday night, before his No. 3 is honored in Hampton's anticipated filmmaking debut. "I feel like it's a great honor to have a recognition like this," said Henry, who tied for the NFL lead with 10 interceptions and finished second for AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2001. "It's most important for all the kids that were involved, for my family, Coach Hampton and all the kids I went to school with." Hampton recalled Henry's work ethic at Estero High, where he starred from 1992-95 as a quarterback, safety and the team's punter, winning District Player of the Year honors for his senior season in 1995. He also set school records in both the high jump (6 feet, 6 inches) and triple jump (44 feet, 1 inch), and was named MVP of the basketball team. "He was always very dependable, you could count on him, and he was his own person," Hampton said. "Everybody liked him because he was just himself, he was everybody's friend, and it's been the same way when he went on to college, and now as a professional. He's always left a legacy of just being a nice young man." His former coach  now a close friend  said that he was proud of what Henry's accomplished since leaving Estero High, and that Saturday's recognition is well deserved. "He's just like a son," said Hampton. "When you see your son succeed and do the right things, it just makes you proud, like any father would be. I think it's the ultimate, when kids look at that (jersey and say), 'How do I get my jersey retired?' Well, he's the measuring stick right there." Said Henry: "I never really imagined this. I think the most important thing, it kind of shows (kids) what they can do with hard work and patience."
  17. USF had one. Miami ended up with 7? I'm a Brown's fan, and as you know we got Winslow. It's amazing that no matter what, I will find it hard to forget where he played in college. I just hate F*&%$# Miami...
  18. Now that I think about it, Anthony has been around for 3 years now...
  19. ****, when people ask things like that, I feel old. Was in a music store the other day, and someone went up to the counter and asked, "Do you have Neil Young's Decade CD"? The girl behind the counter said, "Who's Neil Young"? Besides the fact that she probably wasn't even born when he had his last hit, it's a good thing she worked around music... Anyway, maybe I jumped the gun a little. Getting a player into the top 10 draft picks would give us some nice exposure. As a Browns fan, it's nice watching a former USF player roaming around on defense. And, although his 2nd year wasn't as good as his 1st, he got rear-ended on Rookie-of-the-Year.
  20. Questions like these, including the one that questions our national status, really annoy me. ----------------------------------------------------------------- My name is Francis but everybody calls me Psycho, If I catch any of you calling me Francis, I kill ya! And, I don't like anyone touchin' me. So, any of you homo's touch me, I kill ya'. Lighten up, Francis...
  21. How long before this really happens? With all the talent in Florida, and us moving into the Big East where our exposure is sure to escalate quickly, I say it happens fairly soon.
  22. Was wearing my USF hooded sweatshirt not long ago while doing errands here in Columbus, OH. Some guy walked by me and said, "Dude, cool sweatshirt". Now, that's a HUGE compliment in Buckeye land...
  23. from the Packers head coach. But, as always, I believe good, bad, and indifferent statements should be posted. Reaching for a returner:
