  2. As for MOST fans of MOST teams - they are fair-weathered, and will only go if team is winning. Then, they become the greatest fans (in their own minds). It's sad that the last two nationally televised home games have had such poor attendance.

I would have given him one more year to let his recruits mature. 5. Lots of coffee.

From Columbus, OH to Geneva, NY to Newland, NC & back.
  5. What? Are you crazy? If you can do it just stay in school until you're old and bald. It ain't much better in the land of corporate America. I'm going back to graduate school, and just "wish" I could figure a way to do it, quit my job, and still pay the bills. Oh, on the subject of the subject. I agree. Until someone hires him he is going to be hired at every college & pro team in the country via boards like this one.
  6. May God bless him with a full recovery & strength for his family - and others - as they support him!
  7. Had it. It's darn good eats. And, it's kinda funny that the most elaborated subject is the one about cartoons.
  8. 1. Who gets the nod as the Miami Dolphins new head coach? 2. What is your preferred form of exercise? 3. What is the best cartoon of all-time? 4. Have you missed the NHL? 5. I bought an Nordic Trac elliptical machine on the advice of my surgeon. I've used it ever since. 3. Bugs Bunny. 4. What? Aren't they playing? 5. Rotolo's Pizza - Columbus, OH. In the top 3 best pizza's I've ever had.
  9. Utah needs to win out. The last few years there has been this type of scenario, and they teams that felt they were getting scammed lost - thus, the complaining stopped immediately. They may need some help along the way, but it's weird how things seem to work out if you just keep winning. There is still enough football to be played where there will be upsets, and changes in the top 10.
  10. ...is slowly starting to creep back into the national limelight. Trust me, I am by no means a Notre Dame fan. But, they have been in every game with the exception of one - the meltdown against Purdue. Just beat #9 Tennessee today. I know it's been discussed on here before, but I'd still LOVE to see them join the Big East. It would help solidify the conference.
  11. 1. Besides the obvious fact of a win, what is the BEST thing that came from the USF win on Wednesday? 2. If you could be re-incarnated as any animal - what would it be? 3. What chore, or home improvement project, do you hate doing the most? 4. If you were to move to any OTHER state than that of which you presently live - what would it be? 5. Is there any family-related sports rivalry within your family? ******************************************* 1. I think it was good for recruiting. The announcers had some good things to say about that fact, plus mentioned the move to the Big East, the new facilities, etc. 2. Bald Eagle. Being able to fly & have that kind of power would just be awesome. 3. If you read my post earlier, you'd know it was painting. I hate the ENTIRE process. Preparation, doing it, and cleaning up. The outcome is nice, though. 4. I now live in Ohio. I've also lived in Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania. and Kentucky. But, I think Colorado would be next. Boulder to be exact. 5. Both my brother and Dad graduated from Western Kentucky University. So, no real rivalry there. But, my Dad roots for Kentucky because he grew up going to the basketball games. It drives my brother crazy.
  12. I am suppose to be finishing the painting in the bedroom, but keep taking breaks because I think painting SUCKS. Most especially, when it's taken 2 1/2 days, and 3 gallons of Restoration Hardware "Butter Cream". Next time I hire someone. Anyway, there has to be something that people hate to do worse than painting, and it may make me feel better to hear what it would be? Save me before I jam the paint stirring stick into my temple.
  13. Yeah, I had that deal from my last employer, and just told them, "No, thanks. This company needs it more than me - you just go ahead and keep it".
  14. ...internal struggles within UF may cause Spurrier to spurn a return to the school even though he has already started contacting potential assistant coaches. If UF is not where Spurrier ends up - he is being watched by exec's within the Dolphins front office. I guess a disastrous stay at Washington is not enough reason to not give him a 2nd chance in the NFL?
  15. Sorry about last week. I had a major computer crash. New hard drive, and few hundred less in my pocket - and, 5 question Friday returns. 1. With some tough losses - what will make this a productive season for you? 2. Do you feel Jim Leavitt has been a successful coach for USF? 3. Do you feel USF football has been successful to this point in time? 4. What do you feel will make this program successful in the next five years? (Bowl game appearance? Conference champion? National Champion?) 5. Do you feel football or basketball will ultimately have more success once we join the Big East? I'm going to let you start this one, and add my answers later...
  16. ****. Don't SLAM the guy because he made a statement. You guys wonder why MORE PEOPLE don't post? If you're going to have a message board, let people say their peace, and SLAM what they SAY - not THEM. I say BO stays. I also say that Leavitt gets this year, and one more to go to a bowl game. And, since it isn't going to be this year - 2005 is going to critical for him.
  17. Just say for a second that Spurrier would consider coming to USF to coach, and the team TOTALLY tanked this year. You think the school wouldn't find a way to buy-out Leavitt's contract?
  18. They should have beaten Miami AT Miami. 25 points may be gracious...
  19. I've been dealing with this from Butch Davis & the Browns, and don't want to start dealing with it from my alma mater coach too. I've thought & thought about this at the NFL level, and came to the conclusion that it's really bizzare that fans seem to see things that coaches don't see. Which lead me to some conclusions: 1. They snowed people along the way somewhere because they were always only as good as the coordinators backing them up. 2.  They are simply working with players they have - which aren't as good as the fans thought. But, leads to an entirely different set of problems. 3. They are too stubborn to admit fault in areas - and dead-set on proving everyone wrong - even at the risk of losing games. 4. Or, any combination above. With JL, I say he get's this year, and next in the Big East to prove himself before we start asking for his head. Just my opinion.
  20. Time for a little creativity because 5 Question Friday is simply; 1. Who? 2. Where? 3. When? 4. Why? 5. How? 1. The Hawaiian Tropic girls. 2. On the dark side of the moon. 3. Pigs fly, and are serving drinks & peanuts. 4. Because Cleveland is cursed. 5. With a little effort, and a lot of 10w40 motor oil.
