  1. Just for fun, if the 5 home games are on Saturday nights, what do you think the attendance will be. I think we are ready to break some records. Here's my guess: FAMU - 50,000 UCF - 40,000 WVU - 45,000 UL - 40,000 UC - 35,000 Average 42,000
  2. Vitale is a home town supporter who lives in Sarasota. I've seen him at every home team's games - Lightning, Bucs, and Rays. USF is his home town college team and I agree he wants us to catch on.
  3. I never realized that. Do we normally get the same refs that live in the area for home games or do they travel so you don't get the same refs over and over? I do see the same refs again and again at the women's games.
  4. Love it - Bulls in first place, Cards in last place - for the night anyhow!
  5. I assume the BE has a better class of refs than CUSA. These calls and non-calls sound out of control if TJ is calling it accurately.
  6. Sheriff, can your buddy at the bar tell us the coordinates we should be asking for at a bar with an old dish?
  7. I think you answered your own question.  Afraid to talk for fear of jinxing things.  I believe tonight's outcome will tell us about the rest of the season.  Win and we can probably look at 8-8.  Lose and ??.
  8. The SunDome, O'Connel and Leon County CC (FSU) all went out on state bid at the same time with the same basic architectural drawings. UF and FSU had the extra dough to build lobbies and additional facilities from their donor money. FSU also put up the funds for an additional 2,000 seats on the third level. USF at the time (1979) probably had zero dollars in any athletic donor accounts and it was built bare bones. BTW, Leon County is now the jewel of the 3. They have added 30 suites, club seats and a 500 seat restaurant with views of the outside and the arena floor - pretty cool place.
  9. Agreed - I was there and the WI students were unbelieveable with their choreographed moves - jumping, shifting wave, etc. My first experience with really involved college fans and seeing what RayJay could be like on Saturdays. All the GA fans I saw were a bit pompus-rednecky and yelled more insults at WI fans than in support of their own team. One of them pointed at my Bulls shirt (in the bathroom nonetheless), made some nasty comment about the NBE and tried to get his other GA buddies to join in the heckling. I talked to a few WI folks who were much friendlier and asked questions about Tampa and the stadium.
  10. Do we really have FAMU at home 2 years in a row? I am all for the game in 2005 but not every year.
  11. On the postgame tonight, Marlyn talked about how he spent the entire summer in the new pool that has a treadmill. Said he probably would not have come back without that being available as part of his therapy.
  12. NOBODY was even close on any of these except for picking the winner.
  13. Can't find any line on this game. Sagarin has UTA by 1 if you give the full 4 points to USF for home court. If not, UTA by 5. I did not realize they were such a player.
  14. Agreed - this is not a good thing for the NBE unless they can replace him with a "name" coach - not many left at this point after the first round of the coach shuffle.
  15. I think Miami's tickets are like $45 normally to the public. I assume that is what the visiting team allocation is priced at. Visiting teams usually have to pay full price for their allocation so I don't think USF even has the option of giving a discount to season tix holders unless the AA would eat some of the ticket price which would not make sense. I would think they will offer a package of like $60 to include the pre-game party. With everyone's concerns about the area around the OB, they could probably sell at least a few thousand tickets for a pre-game tent party at the OB.
  16. And working on 1 for 1 with North Carolina per Trib article - way to go DW!
  17. Howell site updated 12/24 - EMU gone.
  18. Howell updated his schedules this morning before the Miami news and he has Eastern Michigan at RayJay on 9/24. Might he know something we don't about provisional contracts based on a 12 game season being passed for 2005? Is Howell usually accurate on future schedules? http://www.jhowell.net/cf/scores/Sked2005.htm
  19. Please, please, please run from ESPN when they bring this game up. The last thing we need is this game NOT on a Saturday - would really deplete what should be a great showing from Bulls fans.
  20. Great! Thank you DW. Please don't screw this up by letting TV change it to a weekday. If it stays on Saturday, Bull nation will be there in force.
  21. I know, I know. I need to get away from bashing marketing. I just think the "we live in paradise where it doesn't snow" act is tiring and this was an opportunity for Auman and TV to discuss recruit marketing.
  22. TV could have taken the high road and said how imaginative or clever it was of Rutgers to do that. And then he could have explained his recruit marketing plan to identify and discuss the differences. (I guess we need to have a plan to make that work.)
