  1. Can you guys please update the basketball opponents message boards at the bottom of this page?  I would like to start checking out their boards for this season. Thanks.
  2. The BE never releases their schedule until Dec-Jan.  We just have to assume the OOC games will be in September like 90% of the rest of 1A does.  Let's get this done. BTW, for 2006 why not work out a deal with UCF to include that away game in our season ticket package so people are committing to 6 games, but we only need to schedule 5 home games.  This would give us a bit of room to get the 1 for 1's going and athletics would still feel like they sold a 6 game season ticket.  Athletics could still charge us $20-$30 per ticket but only pay UCF $10 - $15 per ticket on a 20,000 ticket guaranteed sale.  I can't believe anyone would not buy season tickets if they were forced to pay for UCF as the 6th game.
  3. At the beginning of the 4th quarter, the ECU fans turned on each other. It was unbelievable. A few starting chanting Fire JT as others told them to shut up or leave. It got a bit heated and 2 cops came down the aisle to mediate the situation. Not a happy family right now.
  4. I think you need to have 5 1A home games starting next year so FAMU would not count, but FAU or FIU would.
  5. Is that really the opening line? Sounds high to me. Sagarin has it Cincy -7.5.
  6. Quick question regarding locker rooms. I assume the Bucs allow no one in their locker room. So do the Bulls use the nfl visitors locker room and our opponent uses some auxillary room?
  7. Student attendance at Memphis will be dismal at best. Hopefully, they turn out for Pittsbugh to take a break from studying for finals.
  8. My 2 cents. 1. Agree that someone who can react faster needs to control the down and distance. My 12 year old will say the down and distance as soon as the refs converge from the sidelines within 3 seconds of the whistle blowing. Half the time the scoreboard changes at the snap or not at all. 2. Cut the PA music in half. College games should be more about the band than AC/DC. 3. HOT should learn the opponent's fight song and before the teams come on the field they should go over to the SE corner to play it for their fans. Then march over to the Bulls bench and play our fight song. 4. Bag the Alma Mater before the game. Either play it at half time or after the game is over. Over time 4-5 years, students would stay and people would begin to gather near the field to sing it with the team after the game. 5. I can't stand the PA guy "explaining" tradition to us before the game and asking for an "inspired shout of Go Bulls" during the fight song. His "please rise" gets many people standing because they think the national anthem is coming, then they awkwardly sit down when they realize it is for a fight songs. This is all very bush league - just play the songs and over time and people will start arriving earlier and standing themselves. 6. Stats please. Why can't we have one board on each side scrolling up to the second stats - this all has to be computerized as the game progresses and can't be that difficult to display. In another post, I said that is the one great thing about UCF at the citrus bowl. 7. Finally, what happened to the pre kickoff video of the techno bulls and shots of great hits? It was not their last night at all. We have the greatest video screens in college football - we should take advantage of them and do a pregame video like the BUCS with their ship destroying the other team's ship. Thanks for listening.
  9. I think for this year and for our fan base the best thing that could happen if we are eligible would be for the XII to not have a 7th or 8th team eligible and we get invited to the Tangerine against the ACC. Obviously we would travel well to the game and it would be a great opponent. The factors against the Bulls are very few hotel rooms sold and little local Orlando spending.
  10. If I am reading gametracker correctly, it looks like SLU got 2 goals on 6 shots and USF was 0 on 13. Bummer.
  11. At 90 minute mark, SLU 2 - USF 0. Not sure if in injury/extra time or if the game is over.
  12. Have they ever considered allowing all 16 teams a shot at the tournament? Something like the bottom 8 teams play each other on home courts of the higher seed (9,10,11,12) for the right to advance to MSG. This would still put 12 teams in NYC but everyone has a shot.
  13. Have no clue where this came from, but boneyard banter post has WVU at USF next year. Nice! (if true). http://www.boneyardbanter.com/bbs/bin/28393.html
  14. Looking at all 3 boards, you wouldn't even know they have a game on Saturday. The main discussion now is how their new baseball stadium is progressing.
  15. 1. Jimmy Johnson will be persuaded to come back 2. Bikes 3. Roadrunner 4. Yes 5. I don't like Pizza - My kids like Galley on S. Westshore best
  16. Just an FYI - National Champs has a new site up with the conference realignment and 2005 schedules. Interesting that CUSA, MWC and WAC already have their conference home/away schedules completed. http://www.nationalchamps.net/NCAA/college_football_2005_schedules/
  17. Thanks for the explanation, maybe I don't understand this stuff, but... Looking at the BE schedules this year it looks like 95% of the OOC teams are east of the Mississippi, so I am not sure how much national recognition some teams are getting unless it is a big name opponent on national TV, but playing the top 2/3 of the BE accomplishes that. Very few of the OOC games appear to help SOS, most of these teams would hurt your SOS. I guess the main reason for this resistance is to pad the schedule with wins. I just don't understand how you can't accomplish the same thing with 9 games instead of 11. I guess in the end I really don't care, but I thought it would be good for every team to see how you stack up against each BE team every year.
  18. Duh - I guess I should have checked the remaining schedules.
  19. Then, I don't really understand this decision not to play 18 so everyone gets everyone each year. Like Velcro said, 9 games is plenty to keep up a couple OOC rivals and get a few wins before conference play.
  20. Here's another weird scenariio. It is mathematically possible that the Big XII champion is not bowl eligible. Iowa State, Nebraska and Colorado all have a remote shot at winning the championship game with a final record of 6-6.
  21. I agree the 3 should be closest in travel time. That would be UL, WVU and UC. UC is a bit closer than GT and I'd rather see the students hassle Huggy every year anyways.
  22. Stupid question - does the NCAA limit teams to 16 conference games? If not, why don't we play 18 and make everybody happy? That still leaves 9 or 10 OOC games, right?
  23. Gary, good points, but 2 issues. 1. Wouldn't we have seen the tinkering already by the coaches looking ahead? They have placed Utah 1 slot behind the AP poll since the BCS has come out. I think we would already see a wider discrepancy. 2. I imagine you would have the oppositte effect and it would be a wash. The non-BCS (or MWC) coaches would vote Utah higher (like #1) to assure they get into the top 6 and get their share of the money.
