"Commit" is the wrong word for what these kids are doing (and undoing).

I think schools should only play 1 or 2 non-Saturday games for TV exposure. UL is out of control. 5 of their 11 games are not on Saturday and they are in the middle of 4 in a row on weekdays. Teams should play at least 9 of 11 games on Saturday. Call it old fashioned, but that is the tradition of college football.

CFN has 5 bowl slots not being filled by the contracted conference. That sure does open it up for mid majors to go somewhere. Also, all the bowl projections still have UF going somewhere (outback, tangerine, etc.). If they lose to SC and FSU, they are 5-6 and going nowhere.

In another thread I said that the refs called the exact same thing on 2 Ohio field goals. They were both just above the right upright and they called both no good. Ohio would have won in regulation - I don't see the lone gunman theory here.

Last minute decision this afternoon to take my son to the UCF-Ohio game.  We had always wanted to see the citrus bowl and I wanted to see what a UCF game was like. No flame to our UCF buds, but Yikes - the citrus bowl is pretty much a dump.  I was shocked that they play a major new years day bowl in that hole.  No chairbacks anywhere, real tight room between seats, awful concessions and rust/paint peeling everywhere.  After a while I realized that maybe we are just REALLY spoiled with RayJay. On the positive side, I must give the UCF students major props - they were out in force and everyone of them really into the game with organized cheers, knowing when to be loud and when to be quiet, etc.  The other really nice thing was a major stats board that scrolled the entire game with up to the second stats on every aspect of the game - rushing by player, receiving by player, passing, TOP, etc. And finally, Congrats to Bobcat99 - Ohio won 17-16 in the first overtime because UCF missed an extra point. BTW, I would guess there was maybe 17-18,000 there and it was their homecoming.

Sunshine now has some deal or affiliation with Fox. I have Fox Atlantic, Central and Pacific channels and the Atlantic channel often shows games and replays that have the Sunshine logo.

It rained during the FAU game - wasn't it delayed due to lightning? The rain stopped at kickoff for both bowling green and the first southern miss home game.

I thought that was weird too. They kept talking about it in the booth and showing Royal, but the babe never got in there to find out what was being said or what transpired. These sideline reporters have their 6-8 storylines all prepared before the game. They can't deal with anything unexpected except injuries. What is the point? They could do that from the booth.

Cop, I agree with your logic, but with only 8 teams and 3-4 bowls, I don't think you will get to any NBE bowl with a 6-5 record. However, that would probably get you a lesser game for a conference that can't fill their slots. I say use the exemption the first time you need it and let the future chips fall where they may.

Yeah, that was great. I am sure a lot of high school kids watch the only college game on tues/wed/thurs. They really turned on UAB in the second half and started talking about how the upper deck at LF is condemned and will be torn down in january, their athletic facilities are horrible, and most people in the state (AL/AU fans) don't want the football team to exist or be funded. That along with the attendance had to hurt the NCUSA brass.
