    Bigbull, as Pres. do you write a response to totally wipe out the negative this guy is spewing and ask other students to join you and find out on their own what the atmosphere can be on Thursday night? OR do you ignore him and hope he hasn't done too much damage to SBC. What do you think the average student reading the oracle will take away from this article? Given our attendance, I am not so sure that most have never witnessed college sports and this will now skew their view or opinions that it is a bad/not fun event.

    Getting realistic and to please everyone involved (academics, tradition, location, tv draw/market, availability, etc.), I think Army or Navy are the real football-only possibilities in the next few years.

    And Cincinnati has beaten who? Deserving of a BE invite had a lot more to do with it than just having beaten a "big time" team. UL's down year is coming. Fortunately, ours has passed.

    Unless, they enforce the 5 1A home game rule, I don't see why the Sun Belt and lower WAC/MAC schools are not our home game pay days with no return. Those schools will fill their gaps with 1AAs unless they have to have 5 1A home games, then we are screwed and would fall under hailpitt's scenario of it being extrememly difficult to NOT schedule a 1AA.

    I like that Tman started the attendance thing. Bulliever, you should add that as #6 and make it worth a couple points.

    I had to look up pedantic and I still don't get it. How does 12-7 or 12-8 = 3?

    I think 4,000 is pretty accurate. Most of the season tix areas appeared full - not many no shows.

    You guys are very fortunate to even be discussing these issues. When I went to USF we had no sun dome and we were lucky if 20 students made the drive to Curtis Hixon hall or the fairgrounds for a game. I'm not sure what my point is other than it may not now be as good as the mid 80's to early 90's but it is light years ahead of the early days of this program.

    I thought the BE has officially informed everyone that the 4 newest teams (incl. UConn) would have 3 home games and the remaining 4 teams would have 4 home games in the first season. Isn't that correct?

    $50,000 buyout is a bargain - it was signed 12 years ago! That figure would be at least $200,000 if it was signed 3 or 4 years ago. Very low of UCF to do this at such a late date. They probably knew 3 years ago they would not honor the final return and made other commitments that would easily cover the $50,000.

    BTW, the dome looked great with that size crowd. They have again pulled the full curtain to block off the third level and have huge "U" and sponsor banners ringing the lower and upper level. Now, if we could just temporarily fix those scoreboards - only one was showing the # of fouls last night and it was behind me. The others have more bulbs going out.
