  1. They scored on a muffed punt and then got great field position on a block... Their defense looked pourous at times... I would say a Michigan team is more deserving... And the fact they lost to a #1 team.. Florida lost to auburn #12? And Florida barely beat USTEVEC.. The Arkansas offense has made A LOT of good defenses look pourous this year
  2. the computer polls are a bunch of crap, they have almost the entire pac 10 in the top 30 teams or so, including the 7-5 and 6-6 teams
  3. how can you even begin to rationalize that a conference runner up should play in the national championship game?!? this coming from a person that actually has a reason to hate UF more than 98% of the people on this board
  4. Agree with Joe, as much as it pains me to say this... we should thank UF. When UF and FSU presidents "combine powers" to push for a playoff, people are going to listen.
  5. No, the commitment requires a credit card. When the bowl is announced, they run all the credit card commitments for the applicable bowl game. LSU does this EVERY year. this is correct, UT is doing the same thing right now AND they require a "processing fee!" So not only are you committing to buy tickets, you are paying to commit! And I think you have to be a season ticket holder to get even commit at this point
  6. no "source", saw a newspaper article somewhere on the internet quoting the AD of LSU saying they had 32,000 pre sales for the Rose Bowl, but had not been officially selected yet but with at least 32,000 tickets guaranteed, already, it will be hard for the Rose Bowl to overlook them
  7. well, looks like you can pencil LSU in for the Rose Bowl ... supposedly pre sold 32,000 tickets as of yesterday, a number that will only rise in the coming weeks
  8. At least one other directly, and probably a group of 5-10 people most likely staying at Doubletree Birmingham, only a block or two away from Five Points
  9. what happened to it? can we get that info back up?
  10. it means i get to make fun of all my friends that are from WV or went to WVU for the next year...
  11. What are the hotels near Five Points, hopefully within walking distance? How far is that from the stadium?
  12. I've heard Spurrier tossed around the Bama name as well... They are going to get a big name to please boosters, don't look for a coordinator or "mid-major" coach to be promotred
  13. the game was on in Knoxville too and it was sad, it looked about like a crowd at a USF basketball game
  14. I think Plancher will be a big addition the lineup, if he can stay healthy, so running back is not htat big of a priority. Him being more of a quick, scat back will help out the running game a lot. I think a back like Plancher is a much better fit for the running game than a bigger back like Ponton.
  15. had nothing to do with his overall record, the only that mattered was 0-4
  16. Arkansas could very well jump U of L if they beat UF and U of L should not jump LSU, a win over Uconn is not exactly "jumpworthy"
  17. Pete Carrol did a good job coaching them. This was by far his sketchiest team the past couple years, but somehow he pulled them together. I still think OSU will wipe the floor with them.
  18. LSU should jump UL in the polls this week, they went on the road and beat a top 5 team. As mentioned earlier, Arkansas should beat UF, so a 2-loss UF comes into the mix of at-large teams as well. It appears that the at-large decision comes down to UF or LSU because I think WVU should beat Rutgers, and WVU and RU will not get BCS bids
  19. I fell like USF is becoming the NC State of the Big East. One week pull off a huge upset, then only to come back the next week and get slaughtered by an average team.
  20. That's what I'm talking about. You want to talk about strength-of-schedule but who has LSU beaten? They looked horrible beating a mediocre Tennessee team by 4. And...... They have done absolutely nothing else to deserve being called a "top 5 team in the country". It's all tradition and name recognition. SEC hype. They beat UT by four and UK 49-0, therefore, they are a top five team. !?!? ;D
  21. I mean, don't listen to the guy that attends an SEC school that is praying for his school to make it to the Outback Bowl so he can come see his school play in Tampa to know how the bowl selections work.... : from the SEC website: The Outback, Chick-fil-A and AT&T Cotton Bowls will work with the conference office to determine picks 3-5. The Cotton Bowl has the first preference of teams from the Western Division and the Outback Bowl has first preference of teams from the Eastern Division. The Cotton or Outback Bowl can select teams outside of its divisional preference, but must not select them before the opposite bowl selects from its divisional preference. The Chick-fil-A Bowl has the selection of preference following the Cotton and Outback Bowls. aka what I just said above
  22. SEC Bowl Deals: Capital One bowl gets first pick of SEC teams not in the BCS Oubtack/Cotton/Peach are picks 3-5. The three bowls work together with the conference office to pick teams. The Cotton bowl gets first selection from the West, Outback first pick from East, then Peach bowl gets what is left. If Outback wants someone form the West, Cotton picks first, then Outback can pick from the West. My Guess: BCS: UF/Ark Capital One: LSU Outback: Tennessee Cotton: Auburn Peach: Georgia
  23. *sits back and watches someone else get trashed for not living in a green and gold world*
