  1. if two Big 12 teams make it in the BCS it is a load of crap. The BIg 12 is arguably the worst BCS conference this year. The Oregon game should not have been close if Oklahoma was a BCS worthy team as shown by Oregon's performance lately against decent opponents. Heck, Oregon got WAXED by Arizona, Cal, and USC... not exactly a stellar team.
  2. screw you guys... Birmingham would be absolutely perfect, timing and location. One, it would give me a great excuse to leave the grandparents/relatives for a while, and two, i would be in nashville, only like 3-4 hours away.
  3. Bull94, you really are making this too easy... Ainge is credited with playing 10 games. He took MAYBE 5 snaps against LSU before sitting due to an injury. Compute his total offense numbers using 9 games, much more accurate, and he is in the top 10 range with around 270 yds/gm. Same goes for total passing, use 9 games and he is in the 20-21 completions/gm range which puts him around the top 10 again. Maybe they are getting better with the Freshman?? Or maybe you are retarded and don't realize the numbers dropped after the freshman played... take your pick
  4. Tennessee's trio of Robert Meachem, Jayson Swain, and Bret Smith would disagree... UT had a top 10, maybe even top 5 passing offense before Ainge got hurt. actually ainge ranked 22nd total offense in the country and 20th for passing per game. I guess he'd be considered top 5 in the country like LSU?? The team that needed OT to beat Ole Miss at home. How they still get all this respect is beyond me. Just another example of the mediocre SEC. At least UF got another quality OOC win at home! By the way Kentucky's qb ranks higher than ainge in both categories. huh? http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?year=2006&div=4&rpt=IA_teampass&site=org UT is #12 passing offense, that is with a backup RS Freshman playing almost all of the game against LSU and the whole game against Arkansas. And Ainge's per game numbers are flawed because it counts him as playing against LSU when he MAYBE took 5 snaps in that game but it counts against him. Bull94 as much as I enjoy you trying to rip on the SEC, it is really getting old because you really sound dumb doing it, please move on to something else.
  5. it is snowing in Knoxville, TN right NOW ... Morgantown is several hours north of here i think you get the point
  6. Tennessee's trio of Robert Meachem, Jayson Swain, and Bret Smith would disagree... UT had a top 10, maybe even top 5 passing offense before Ainge got hurt.
  7. It's hard to say they are the best two teams in the country when they are playing against each other. Kind of like how everyone uses the argument against the SEC, it is hard to claim superiority when you play against yourselves (conference teams). OSU's only win is against Texas, who lost to Kansas St. and had a freshman QB facing OSU early in the season. Michigan has wins over Wisconsin (only 2 wins over teams with a winning record) and Notre Dame (ill reserve complete judgment on them until after the USC game). They may be the best two teams, but it is hard to say that without seeing them play a USC, Ark., or UF.
  8. somewhat, actually. they played like crap most of the game, but pulled it together enough in the end to win the game
  9. I guess they are assuming Arkansas is going to lose not only this week to LSU, but to UF in the SECCG game. That is pretty bold. I think Arkansas wins at least one of those.
  10. 30.9.2.1( really screws up some bowl games... I am sure some bowls are really excited about taking Arkansas St potentially over Pitt, USC, UCLA, Kansas, etc.
  11. a rematch is really a terrible idea ... UM had their shot, give someone else a shot. Winner of USC/ND or winner of UF/Ark should get a shot before UM gets another shot. If UM was to win the rematch, do they play again for the NC? That would make them 1-1... just make it a best out of three contest...
  12. if UK beats UT i will be making suicide arrangements...
  13. ok, the SEC East point is ridiculous. Yea, UT is .500 right now, but that makes them 3-3. Losses to LSU, Arkansas, and Florida, all teams in the BCS top 10. The only reason UK is ahead of UT right now is because they got luck on the schedule and drew Ole Miss and Miss. St. as 2 of their 3 SEC West opponents AND UK still has to play UT. Have you seen Arkansas play? They deserve to be one of the top 1 loss teams. Have you seen LSU play? When they pull their heads out of thier asses long enough to play, they are one of the top 5 teams in the country. What 2 loss team would you rank ahead of them? Texas? they just lost to K. State. Cal? They just lost to Arizona. Are you really trying to know Tennessee for losing to UF, Arkansas, and LSU? Teams with a combined record of 26-4, all ranked in the BCS top 10. Who would you rank ahead of them? Nebraska probably has the best case, but they lost to Oklahoma St. Clemson might have a case, but losses to Maryland, VT, and BC are no better than UT's losses. Oregon has losses to Cal, USC, and WSU.
  14. very doubtful, there will be a "waterfall" after the BCS teams are selected. Everything depends on which team goes BCS and if two teams make the BCS from the BE.
  15. If the SEC only had 8 teams or the BE expanded to 12, this wouldn't even be close still, Ole Miss, Miss. St., Vandy, UK are actually comparable to UCONN, Syracuse, and pick two of Cincy/Pitt/USF
  16. gosh, i hate when facts get in the way of such a great argument... As for UK being in second place in the east, they still have to play Tennessee. And they got EXTREMELY lucky on their scheduling on the games they have to play against the SEC West. UK played Ole Miss, LSU, and Miss. St. UT had to play Arkansas, Bama, and LSU. Not exactly comparable. UK has lost to almost every decent team from the SEC they played (UF, LSU, USC) and somehow beat UGA. So saying they are in second now, hardly means anything ... and standings, outside of first place, mean nothing. Did you really just try to compare the gauntlet of UL, WVU, RU, Pitt, and USF to say UF, Bama, Arkansas, Auburn, UT? At best, the top 3 are a wash, then I would think the leftover of UT/Auburn and Bama are better than USF/Pitt.
  17. probably not far from the truth... spend a year or two in SEC country, immersed in all the pageantry and tradition, you might begin to believe too
  18. UM almost lost to Duke ... Go BULLS !!! with half their team suspended...
  19. Leak has played a little better competition than Grothe has had to face this year... just throwing it out there *insert you best I have a SEC bias comeback here*
  20. well yea, USF could beat OSU too, but I am not going to say USF is a better team. There are a lot of teams that could pull off a one game upset in a regular season game, but to the chance decreases exponentially when they are playing in a NC game. A Jim Tressel coached team is not going to play down to their opponent or have a let down game in a NC environment.
  21. i was close, i was going by memory if I remember correctly, W. Michigan played BC pretty tough early in the year. If that is the same team, I am not so sure about FSU pulling it out anymore
  22. All I do is watch college football on saturdays, sunday nights, tuesdays, wednesdays, thurs, and fridays.... I'm a stat junkie online. (This stuff doesn't matter, but I watch college football) I think Rutgers is a better team than Ohio State!!! There someone said it now stop saying that OSU is clearly better than RU! you've lost your **** mind I give up trying to discuss anything logical outside of the Big East or USF on this board, it is a waste of time
  23. Yes, FSU is 5-5 and has a game against W. Carolina UM is 5-5 and has a game against UVA
  24. I hate SEC fans. But seriously, yes, Rutgers can compete with the best in the nation. WVU can compete with the best in the nation. UL can compete with the best in the nation. Just because you are ranked all season does not mean you are that much better than everyone else. Oh yeah, 3 big east teams are in the top 10 too, go figure. Those teams you mentioned have all had bad games and UF in particular has played poorly many games (and lost to a team that couldn't score an offensive TD and then got blown out by Georgia who last time I checked has lost many games this year against bad teams). No one can contain Ray Rice that well. You hate SEC fans because they know better than to buy into all the hype? It's not just the SEC, anybody that has watched football knows that Rutgers would probably lose by 10-20 points against the top teams this year. Are you kidding, no one can contain Ray Rice that well? UL's mediocre defense gave up like 120 to Rice. UL is the #50 overall defense and #26 rush defense. Michigan is the #3 overall and #1 against the run, giving up under THIRTY yards a game. I like their chances, not to metnion OSU, UF, USC, LSU ... all top 20 defenses.
