  1. Idk copy and paste itinerary from two years ago, book places for mid afternoon and have people meet in Ybor with a couple of tables seems like a pretty difficult undertaking. I would think the lunch event would be more arduous to pull off in a time crunch. This is a pub crawl, individuals are able to create them on the fly but I guess that’s because they actually want to do it.
  2. And what exactly are those unique issues? Tom Brady and not having our own stadium? No one is deciding between hiring Tom Brady and a college kid, not a single company on Earth. It’s no different than saying someone is deciding between a Kia and a Bentley.
  3. My wife asks too but usually it’s something along the lines of “do we really have to go to a game again?” Or “can we turn this **** off? They are going to lose anyway”, so I guess the context of what they ask about is pretty important to if it’s great or not.
  4. See that guy had to know what he was talking about if they even made a movie about him
  5. So we are 8th because we have the Bucs and play in their stadium but Houston is 2nd for being in the same city as the Texans, Cincinnati is 4th for playing in the same city as the Bengals, SMU 5th playing in the same city as some team called the Cowboys and Tulane 7th playing in the same city as the Saints. There are plenty of opportunities to be had in Tampa and the big city draw is highlighted as a bonus with plenty to go around in every other example but ours. Does anyone honestly believe that the same people looking to hire a random football player from college are suddenly not going to do that because they have Tom Brady or are only interested in signing a player if they can co-market it with a stadium endorsement(people spending millions on a single endorsement are not the same people looking to spend thousands)? These things have nothing to do with anything and we are in 8th solely because we are last in the standings and have yet to demonstrate a path forward. If you buy the athletes they will come and if they come so will every other piece of the puzzle that seems to be missing at present, I think I learned that in Field of Dreams.
  6. Any change in the landscape is an opportunity to either advance, stay stagnant or fall behind and athletic departments that managed to get their entire team contracts most certainly have a leg up on teams that let their players join Cameo for video games (maybe we arent on the level of the U but we ought to at least be more marketable than an AAC women's basketball team). As a smaller budget team on the outside looking in we should be at the forefront of any possible paradigm shift because we have pretty close to nothing to lose while they have to figure out how to not lose their vaults full of money. Unfortunately it is kind of hard to battle the establishment while using their hand me downs to lead you while they are painfully aware their best future opportunities will be coming from back in the machine. We need to drain the SWAMP on Fowler before we are relegated to the official scout team of UF athletics. Every single expendable dollar should be diverted from athletics (who will just squander it like every other time) and into "sponsoring" players as that is an actual tangible path to relevancy and not a single ******* person on earth has decided to take a free job because they liked the facilities over one that had actual pay and a marginally worse office. If the athletics program had a plan on how to use money to get towards wins we probably would be on that track instead of on the constant slide we have experienced under VPMK's leadership. Money to players leads to better players, better players leads to more wins, more wins leads to more fans, more fans leads to more money and more money leads to better facilities and better coaches (they are trying to flow backwards despite any and all evidence that it doesnt work for us). That is an actual path to relevance and it rings a whole lot truer than give me more money leads to give me more money and at some point I will miracle that to my first success (assuming I have enough time and feasibility studies) which of course will then cost you more money . I know Brad is whole heatedly against the whole thing but if he changes his mind I am more than happy to contribute to thebullspen.com student athlete endorsement fund, at the very least that should be fun. UCF has done some things that we have all thought were embarrassing but at least they take shots, are bold and recognize they have nothing to really lose which, no matter how dumb their idea is, and it is not nearly as embarrassing as our stupid stay the course and do nothing as we slowly disappear plan (but hey at least we have our morals and failed the right way! That's worth way more than money, success and power said no one that has any of those things ever).
  7. You don’t think people ask for id to make sure they are sufficiently adult enough for them to consider the person adult enough for them to criticize their performance at their job? They throw a cheeseburger at the person who wishes they were lucky enough to just get booed instead of battered and becoming a TikTok star.
  8. If an adult decides to boo another adult that has decided to do something in the public sphere that the booing adult pays to attend, while it’s not something I would probably choose to do (I like actual Bulls more so than failing mercenaries that get paid handsomely), I would be hard pressed to come up with an issue I could care less about. Just win that’s the solution to every issue be it booing, attendance or finances and really the only thing I actually care about.
  9. They paid for my tuition, paid for my books and wrote me a check every semester and for that I had to maintain a certain gpa and could make money however I liked even if it was from a corporation or by any other means. They seem to have to work much harder and they earn more money for their free ride than I did so I don’t see why that should then translate to less opportunities to make money than any other students on scholarship.
  10. Their investment already appears to be paying off in spades, he deserves a raise
  11. My son and step children seem to find a way. Personally I don’t believe there is an objective just only things people agree to; so it’s a bit harder for me to get to a place on this topic where I think one side is the just side. I completely get why a player would want to get paid(on my academic scholarships, that I actually made money on every semester, I was free to earn whatever I wanted by any means that I wanted). However I also get why someone else would then not want to pay for their education (personally I just want to win again and as far as Usf athletics go that’s the extent of my care). If there is anything that bothers me about the subject it’s that we appear to be unprepared for yet another shift in the landscape we could have perhaps capitalized on, but there is always next time.
  12. He is good people and he does moderate for a fee I assume is well below the level necessary to be able to boo about his services.
  13. I don’t mind anyone getting whatever it is they think they can get if they decide it’s worth it to them what I take umbrage with is anyone thinking doing it for more is somehow worse than doing it for less, that’s nonsense.
  14. I think everyone in business has done things for money that they weren’t exactly happy about doing but they justified because the money they were being offered justified selling just another little piece of their soul and someone was going to do it anyway. Getting paid more for doing the same job makes it more justified to do it not less, it’s okay to be a whore (for the right price) but don’t be a slut.
  15. Seems like a natural place to get marketing advice, maybe they can tell the businesses they should over pay them now because then they will use that money to become a more valuable endorsement in the future which they can then pay more money for if it actually works out.
  16. Yes but in this instance I think it perfectly captures that doing something for less because the market dictates it doesn’t make it more just or noble it’s born out of necessity and that you would whore yourself for less isn’t typically sold as a virtuous act, if anything it’s more looked down on plus the fact still remains you are in the same profession regardless of pay.
  17. Because selling yourself at any price is still selling yourself, do you see crack whores in a more positive light than you do high class call girls? If anything should be applauded it’s success (measured in dollars) and not selling yourself on the value menu simply because you can.
  18. Seems kind of like a chicken and the egg type situation to me, if you win the argument based on your belief that this was never true is winning that argument now what makes it not true? If I were VPMK I would probably revisit that whole we can give you nothing in return but you should give more because this is a charity pitch but that's just me.
  19. $667,500 which sounds like a pretty winning day to me but just shy of the the 1.35 million and a trophy
  20. "They are telling this of Lord Beaverbrook and a visiting Yankee actress. In a game of hypothetical questions, Beaverbrook asked the lady: 'Would you live with a stranger if he paid you one million pounds?' She said she would. 'And if be paid you five pounds?' The irate lady fumed: 'Five pounds. What do you think I am?' Beaverbrook replied: 'We've already established that. Now we are trying to determine the degree."
  21. I don’t want 24 hours to pass before someone posts on this board, so do you think if any athlete does make it big in the endorsement game they will give to the worthwhile charity that is their scholarship in order to help offset their taxes? Or do you think since they aren’t buying tickets and going to events (that they aren’t required to attend) they will be more inclined to donate to an actual charity that’s only product isn’t athletic entertainment (not to be confused with professional sports where they have seat licenses we have required donations, and that makes all the difference)?
  22. If people identify as Bulls it really shouldn’t be shocking to find some Bulls fornicate with cows and while I do not choose to do so I find their choice brave and I stand with them
