  1. Most die-hard baseball fans grew up with their team. Where I came from most fans supported the Phillies, THE team in eastern Pa. Even though they only won one world series in 102 years, it was still THEIR team. Now how long will it take the Rays to build up a following like that? Probably several generations of kids growing up with the team, and hopefully a few playoff games in the process. The fan base is a lot more than the average attendance. Not many people have the time or money to attend all 81 or so home games. If they played as few games as football does, you would probably see capacity crowds. I'm glad the other teams fans show up in force as it keeps the Rays franchise in business. I think there are more Yankee and Sox fans there during their series then Rays fans. Maybe we'll have a few converts (at least as a second favorite team).
  2. Hope to see CC and the Rays sweep the Sox tonight (sorry Velcro ;D).
  3. I hope this doesn't mean they won't make the trip to Orlando. ???
  4. She: "Are those cowbells in your pockets, or do you just have big 'uns?" He: "Yes on both counts, do you hear them rattling?"
  5. Club access is extra and don't forget the athletic donation that is required. So it is quite a savings. Somebody probably has a couple extra tickets.
  6. Over 21,000 there last night. Of course a lot were Atlanta fans, but attendance is improving. It's a friendlier atmosphere at the Trop this year.
  7. What about non-conference games? Stupid rule.  They are not annoying, like air horns.
  8. You have to realize that players from many countries, like Ghana, are specially motivated - they will be rich men and famous when they return home. Their governments pay them handsomely for each victory.
  9. At Tropicana field. In fact, they even show a Tampa Bay cowbell being rung on the big screen to hype up the fans. Last night there were several groups with cowbells. It was music to my ears! Why can't RJS be as accommodating??
  10. Even Casey Fossum, as wild as he is, only allowed 2 hits to Atlanta in 6 innings last night. The rays lost in 11 innings though. Crowd was 21,290. It didn't hurt that they gave out McGriff figurines. Fred threw out the first pitch to (drum roll....) Urban Meyer! Meyer got some boos, which I thought was hilarious.
  11. I love hootie and the way he interacts with the students and sometimes with the security guards. A couple of years ago he seemed to be staggering more than usual and eventually fell down.
  12. UCF needs to update their form email. So, USF season ticket holders will be sent information about obtaining the game tickets?
  13. It's contains links to recent Bull's articles. Hey, there's even a link to SouthFloridaBulls.com and the BullsPen.
  14. They'll sure to be gunnin' for us. We spoiled their big season. I hope we'll be ready for them!!
