  1. Did your boyfriend buy those jeans for you, and does he like the way your a$$ looks in them?
  2. I thought our colors were green and gold? Where does yellow play into this? Considering how everyone freaks out when one of the colors is a shade off, how does yellow play into this? (tongue firmly planted in cheek) :P
  3. Footballs are great until the parking nazis come over and tell you to stop. Is this a tailgate or a prissy picnic? Let the balls fly! :D
  4. Depends on how intricate you want to get. Our group has done the standard (burgers, dogs, brats). We've also done chicken plenty of times. We've brought out crock pots and done chili. We've had someone bring Cuban food from one of the local joints. Plus, don't forget the appetizers (chips, pretzels, dips, salsa, etc.) We've brought big grills, little grills, crock pots, and camping stoves. Blenders, coolers, canopies, chairs, folding tables. We've celebrated birthdays with cake, and had breakfast for the 11am games last year. You name it, we've probably done it. This year, we're aiming for a crawfish/shrimp boil. As far as TV's are concerned, it's always great to have one, maybe two out there. Normally we've got at least one 19" tv in the back of somebody's SUV. Our group all loves to watch whatever game of the week is on, plus you can keep up with the rest of the scores from around the country. Probably more info than you needed, but that how we roll.
  5. I like the name. Will we hurt someone's feelings by being the "bullies"? Will we scare people away from the games? Come on. It's fun, it's got an attitude. Do you have a more "PC" name for them?
  6. No way this is a case of the snubs! This is geared for folks in the bay area who are traveling. No reason to cover road trips to Tampa.
  7. You're right. I was there for about an hour, and Ch 28 was the only one with coverage. I'm sure everyone else is worried about the pewter and red in Miami tonight.
  8. I've posted this at least a half dozen times. But I'll do it once more since it seems that a few people still haven't heard..... THE PSU GAME WILL BE ON ABC 28 IN TAMPA!!!!! I even heard them announce it at FAD today.
  9. one more time.... THE GAME WILL BE BROADCAST ON ABC 28 IN TAMPA!!!!
  10. Went to the bookstore after FAD, and happened to overhear something interesting from the store manager. Just so happened that Pres Genshaft was there looking at the jerseys with some friends/family. She had a couple of little guys with her and they were looking at jerseys. Someone inquired as to why there were no green Andre Hall jerseys in men's sizes. They were told by the bookstore manager that when they were received, they were manufactured incorrectly. It was described as "the right color green, but they used 'UCF' gold instead of our color". That's right, she called it 'UCF' gold! I actually heard her say that twice, so I know my ears weren't playing tricks on me. She said they shipped them back, and since they are manufactured overseas, they probably would not have the "replica" jerseys in green men's sizes any time soon. They have replaced the replicas, with Russell Athletic jerseys with the screen printed numbers, and they are #2 jerseys! I decided to pick one up. They run about $50. So there you have it. Back to the mystery machine!!!
  11. Great turnout today.  Several hundred people.  Had a trailer with drinks, and another trailer with gear for sale.  All the players and coaches were available for autographs.  Saw LeeRoy and Pres Genshaft there as well. ÂÂ
  12. have Pasco (Wesley Chapel) parties gone bye bye? ??? ???  :-[ :-[
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=lukas/050825&num=2 For anyone who reads "Page 2", we've made their uni watch.  For those of you who prefer the green facemasks, you've found a supporter! "South Florida is marking its move from Conference USA to the Big East by changing its look from this to this -- a much classier design, although it's a shame about the face mask's change from green to black."
  14. You are 100% correct. I've been calling/listening to 620 for years. They don't "screen" their phone calls the way that the other station (1010) did. Duemig had every right to go right back at Howie for the way that Howie jumped on him. Howie's heart was in the right place, just needed to ease his foot off of the throttle a bit.
  15. Thanks to Eric for backing my points from earlier in this thread :P
  16. I stood through a freaking monsoon in Birmingham last year. It was a nationally televiesed game, and I didn't get a free shirt! Just like you said, the play on the field will establish our presence to the football world. Not a bunch of shirts in the stands.
  17. hope we can pull it off. don't see CJL letting the fans mix it up with the players after the season starts. let's keep our fingers crossed.
  18. It will only have positive effects as long has he didn't piss off Duemig enough to ridicule every other USF caller that comes on his show for the next month.
  19. Rebe, Chris Thomas was a great supporter of USF sports. I'm pretty sure that Duemig can become one. Howie's approach today was probably not the right way to do it though. I agree with you, his passion probably got the best of him today. Here's where I disagree with you. You are right about USF golf and tennis, but not many people outside of this board care about it. Calling in to one of the most widely listened to drivetime shows and carrying on about USF golf or tennis will have listeners reaching for their radio presets. We need to get people into USF football and basketball first. Then, we can start to paint the full picture.
  20. Most of these guys have caller driven shows. Call up and lets eductate these guys on USF football. We need to drive the change. If the program can get back to the winning ways, and there is positive movement in the community, maybe in a few years we can send G'ville College down the dial to 970, and we can call 620 our flagship.
  21. Let me start by saying that I am an unabashed Duemig supporter.  My current job normally keeps me away from the radio until at least 6pm most nights, but I've listened to Steve for many, many years.  He doesn't talk USF for one simple reason, nobody calls to talk about it.  He is and always has been a caller driven show.  You want to change the topic, he is normally always willing to (with maybe the exception of NASCAR and NBA hoops).  The way he ticks is that if you become aggressive with him, he'll throw it right back at you. With that said, I've got to admit, after about the first 30 seconds of Howie's rant, I had to change the channel.  I've never been more embarrassed about being a USF fan than I was at that moment.  The "big 3" and their supporters, call us wannabes, bush league, whatever, and today they were right.  The largest sports station in the area and probably in the state is mentioning our new relationship with both themselves and 970, and our first caller basically threw us right under the bus.  I know that it's already been beaten enough on the 5 pages here, but wow!  Women's golf, the 2002 football season, give me a break!  How could you go there Howie? Duemig would probably admit to you that he's not that well versed on Bulls football, but you know what, just like everyone else in the area, if we start to win again, he'll be right there on the bandwagon.  Calling in and "talking" USF football is one thing, but berating the host is just not the way to go about it.  We have to look at ourselves as the unofficial ambassadors to the program, we need to help get people interested and get butts in the seats.  Keep calling in.  Educate the community on why they should get behind this team.  PS - Howie, if you read this, and you probably will, I've just got to tell you that I respect your opinion about this topic, but I just have to respectfully disagree with you here.  You're a passionate member of this forum and always have great insight.  Keep up the great work.  Just don't kill these radio guys, we want them on our side
  22. If the sponsorship is so darn easy, why don't you get off your butt and find someone to buy the shirts.  Everyone complains about how little money there is in the athletic department to begin with, and you want them to dole out an extra $5-$6K so you can get your free shirt.  How about this, everyone wear green and gold.  Don't you own any Bulls gear?
  23. http://www.620wdae.com/ look about the center of the page directly under the top banner.
  24. I'm pretty positive that you are correct. Game should be on ABC 28. Just wanted to mention that there is normally a get together at Beef's.
