Let's look at things logically here. The only jerseys that these manufacturers make are the one for the "name" players. That's why all I've seen are the #2 and #3 jerseys in the bookstore. The faces of our program right now are Hall and Julmiste. The only other one that you might consider would be Nicholas. I want to know why all the bookstore had was white #3's in men's sizes. I want a green #2!

a shame this kid couldn't make up his mind earlier.  that's what happens when you get too many people in your head though.  i'd agree that we're not at the point where we can turn these athletes away if they're interested.  hopefully he can make the right decision and come here.  let him walk on this year and earn his scholarship back for next year.

Guys, I just want to clarify my point on this. I agree to a certain extent about the pride issue. We do look like a much classier outfit with the new jerseys. I guess I'm still not understanding why such a big deal is being made out of it. Great, we look classier, and hopefully, our guys do take pride in wearing the "U" on their lids. Let's not make a federal case out of why we weren't given us a proper and official viewing of the new gear. And like I've said before, demand will get the jerseys in the stores. And, yes, they are available. I've seen them with my own two eyes a the bookstore. Granted there's no real selection, but they are there. Sell those out and the bookstore will keep bringing them in. Ask a the sports fan attic for the new jerseys. Enough people ask, and they'll show up there too. Let's put this stinking issue to rest. We all love the Bulls, we all take a lot of pride in wearing our gear. Hopefully, someone at the school will take note of a 7-page thread on this and next time there is a change, maybe we'll get a bit more of an official word on the changes, and where and when the new gear will be available.

Rebe, I will agree with you. I'd love to have our gear everywhere. I know that we are getting there slowly but surely. I know that all of us on this board wear our Bulls gear with great pride. I guess I just don't understand all the hubbub about the jersey changes. Again, I've got to say that it's not like when we had the logo change. Same story will apply to our jerseys as everything else. We've got to get out and pressure the retailers to put the gear on their racks. We'll go and buy it. I think that is well evidenced by the wall of USF gear that you can find at any Sports Fan Attic in Tampa. However, we've got to keep buying the gear to get them to keep stocking it. We've made great strides to make into the top 50 in NCAA sales in the past few years. For the comparatively small alumni base that we've got compared to some of the big schools, that is an amazing accomplishment. I'm pretty confident that we'll continue to see more and more product on the shelves as we continue to make our mark on the national stage. Looking forward to a great 2005 season. I'll be making my annual shopping trip to stock up on new gear in the next few weeks.

This has nothing to do with pride. What are we proud of the fact that we changed our uniforms? Please! Next year when they change the numbers on the sleeve from 2 inches to 2 1/2 inches, should it be trumpeted to the world? Keep in perspective that this is an issue of supply and demand as well. The new jerseys are available to the public.  They are currently on sale at the bookstore.  We have to remember that just because several hundred of us here at the site want these, does not mean that the casual fan will want to drop $50 on a jersey.  As a result, we're going to have a hard time finding them.  The demand just isn't there yet.

While an official "unveiling" would be nice, it's not like the logo change we had a few years back.  What are you expecting, that this would make the front page of the sports sections?  As much as I would like that to happen, there is still not enough support in this area to garner that kind of attention.  Granted, there could have been an official announcement from the school that maybe could have detailed the changes and included some pictures, but that's all the attention that this is worthy of.  I am just as big a fan as anyone else on this board, but I've got to agree with some of the others out here that this has been blown WAY, WAY out of proportion.  It's a few small tweaks, and people are ready to crucify the marketing department for not giving us enough in formation about why the changes were made.  As was pointed out in another post, black is on the "shield" logo.  I'll also point out that I've got a great green hat that I purchased at the bookstore last year with a white iconic U, and a black brim.  It is probably my favorite bulls hat.  I bought it specifically because it had the black on it.  I've also got a great Adidas warm up jacket that is black with the green iconic U on the chest.  Embrace the black, it is a great look. What I really would like to see is a #2 jersey in the bookstore and online.  As of about 10 days ago, the bookstore only had white #3 jerseys for men, and greeen #2 jerseys for women.  And online, we're still looking at #7, #14, and #93 jerseys.  That's where my beef is.  Let's at least get some up to date jerseys in stock. ÂÂ

Do other teams have as much movement as we've had this preseason? It seems like every other day someone is coming or going.

I thought that I had heard that it would be picked up by the ESPN plus network. In Tampa that would be ABC-28. Am I mistaken?

Wonder why we don't have the iconic "U" emblazoned on the football instead of the rather pedestrian "USF"...

Go to any website that sells authentic helmets and you'll see that many teams don't have facemasks that match the rest of their uniform. Notre Dame, USC and UCLA all have grey facemasks.

I'm for the black on the helmet. The green on gold on the helmets didn't do anything for me.

I'd agree. Red towels would have to be the extent of it. Red shirts...no way! Green and Gold only.
