  1. gotta agree.  the white helmet looks pretty sweet.  really makes the "U" jump out.  plus the stripes look nice as well. like the look of green/white as the dominant colors with gold being secondary. i know our colors are green/gold, but the gold doesn't lend itself to uni's too well.
  2. and unless its due to education (RockyTop, and our Miami OH friend whose handle escapes me right now), don't put it on display for all to see!!!
  3. Vankai What's with your signature? Go Gayturds? I vote he goes to the penatly box immediately!!!!
  4. easily... Marquel he brought us up a notch, and gave us the confidence to dream big.  until the UL game, he gave us the biggest win in school history vs. Pitt.  he was always a class act on and off the field. close second has to be chucky. the only athlete we've had that's been a regular at the pro level. (ross gload isn't far behind). chucky was always and inspiration to his team and was a clutch player. loved going to watch him when i was still in school
  5. If you mean "those alumni", you mean one that has the sense to see that we've got a great thing going with Ray Jay, and that we can celebrate a win by not running all over the field....well, then, I am one of "those alumni" Contrary to popular belief, an on campus stadium does not equal running on the field. On campus stadium means getting the beatdown by campus security, the University Police, and TPD, FHP, and HCSD. That's all. Both of my brothers are Gayturds, and they've told me that before the end of games they've seen the K-9 units on the field to deter the fans. I guess they don't have any "tradition" or "school spirit" either.
  6. Not trying to run you off.... Sometimes you just cringe when you see a mistake like that.
  7. TV contract leaves a lot to be desired this year. I know that being in a more visible league leaves you at the mercy of the networks to a certain extent, but to have so few road games covered...this will be like the first few I-AA seasons. Everyone gather 'round the radio.
  8. I guess I don't know if I qualify as one of the "newer" folks that Bulliever is referring to.  While my post count is relatively low compared to most here, I've been a lurker since the very beginning.  I was one of the original members to sign up here.  While I can understand, and completely agree with Bulliever's desire to create a bigger and better Bull universe, I can't be too critical of what he's calling "bull on bull" criticism.  Everyone here has their own opinions. Sometimes those opinions are going to differ and a spat will ensue. Not a big deal in my book.  I thought that the purpose of these boards is to voice our feelings.  I don't condone making things personal here (unless it is against one of our opponents ).  It is unfortunate that some people have taken things to a personal level, and that has caused a few regulars to drift away from the board, but I think that it is great that we have grown this board over the past few years, and that some new blood and fresh thoughts are tossed around.  People will come and go from this board, the important thing is that we treat each other with some respect, and keep the Bull fire burning bright. Just my couple of pennies.
  9. I've been biting my tongue on that one all day. Thanks for pointing that out.
  10. Believe Coach Mac told him football or basketball, not both. You see what he chose.
  11. Normally pregame coverage begins 30 minutes before kickoff. That's all we're getting right now.
  12. Brad (Bulliever), squashed the UCF DVD idea due to copywrite rules, etc. Not too sure what happened after that. May want to try and contact Brad for more details.
  13. i understand that there is no "local" production of the game. we normally depend upon ESPN/Gameplan/Regional/Plus to link in to their feeds, but I wish we could get one of the locals to pony up and be the "official local broadcast partner of USF Football" and put at least the roadies on tv. Anyone care to guess what it would cost to produce a road game for television? I know this is wishful thinking, but we can dream, right?
  14. that completely sucks. wish we could worry about televising the road games rather than home games. most people who care about the game are there. next year we need to do our best to get the road games on local tv.
  15. interesting. I'd figure that UL v. WVU would be the pick for game of the week. maybe that's going to be picked up by ESPN. Would prefer the noon kickoff personally. Doesn't have to be local tv, as long as it can be picked up by one of the local joints.
  16. Don't know how many of you, if any, made the trip to UAB last year. Unfortunately, due to family commitments, I was unable to make it to the OB. Just curious how it compares to Legion Field in Birmingham. Similar, to the OB, that stadium is steeped in tradition, but it is the biggest dump of a stadium I have ever, ever been in. Sound like the OB may be in the same league as Legion Field (about 30 years too old, and ready for implosion).
  17. Were you at the UL game last week? That was just about the loudest crowd I've ever heard at RJS. Stadium has nothing to do with crowd noise.
  18. See the post below for some clarification on the bus trip. http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1128088021
  19. According to CJL, the bus trip was his call, not the admin's. Read on: http://www.sptimes.com/2005/09/30/Sports/USF_to_toot_horn_on_r.shtml
  20. Don't know for a fact, but it would be extremely odd if we went down on Saturday. Any other normal game week, we'd probably do a walkthrough at the stadium on Saturday morning, so I'd guess we'll be hitting the road some time tomorrow.
  21. ET, Didn't you get the memo? Shoop is always right about everything. ;)
