  1. Right, both were garbage shots and they were looking out for themselves. The Morrillo shot was the worst of those two. I guess I can sniff this crap out a bit better due to my years on the bench.
  2. Anyone else get rubbed the wrong way with these guys taking all the shots in garbage time, when the little used reserves got in? I mean these guys were responsible for the 20+ point deficit and there they are jacking shots trying to pad their lines. Give the ball to someone like Bodeway and guys like that who work hard all year and get little time. I was actually impressed with some of Bodeway's minutes this year. he seems to have a better outside shot than those two anyway.
  3. It was sad to see that Holston and Morrillo were so **** selfish at the end that they continued to jack shots when you had some reserves in the game for their one moment of glory and never saw the ball. Heck, I guarantee that Bodway can shoot better than both of them.
  4. The winner of last season's Big Break Jimmy Brandt is also playing at Valspar part of his award from winning the show
  5. I would agree normally that USF has a shot vs UCONN, but I don't think the refs will allow the host team to bow out in round 1. Too much $$ at stake.
  6. Yes, USF plays out of Brandon, but I didn't think they have a mix of people from other colleges.
  7. Harlan is a huge upgrade and exactly what we needed. All his coach hirings have been spot on. Love what he is doing. People mentioned Heath.....this program would be in much worse shape with him. He was a very poor bench coach. Additionally, his recruiting techniques may have (and still may) get us in trouble. With Coach O we are in the hunt for serious talent. I even like the late last minute signings he had last year (Guerrero, Morrillo, Mercurious).
  8. Thanks for posting this info. Top 10 in golf is outstanding and again is a sport that publicizes a university well if some make the pros.
  9. Wow, this is dominant. Also helps that the golf channel is broadcasting the NCAA championships live this year. They are now putting college symbols next to the PGA tour player names on leaderboards. Need a few of these guys to get to that next level. Great promotional thing for a school.
  10. Josh struggles on defense and also his shot is about as bad as AC's. Yes, he is functional out there because he is smart. However, that does not mean he will add W's to the win column. He will probably be looking for a new home when the GT coach gets canned after this season.
  11. Egbunu doesn't know the game at all. Don't care about how athletic he is. I doubt Heath will be at GT next year as he is not good enough for high D1. Not even good enough here.
  12. He is a solid 6'6" and over 280 pounds. He is not fat. I wonder if he has ever played football? Seems much more suited for that sport and is not unheard of doing this. Everyone points to Antonio Gates as a pro example that everyone knows. People don't realize that Tampa basketball legend Desmond Allison turned to college football as a TE(South Dakota State), even after starting guard/forward at Kentucky his freshman year. He too could be a TE, OT, DL. Why switch schools just to play a lower level of basketball for a few years?
  13. Yes, I think these guys will be back: Morrillo, Zeigler, Guerrero, Cousins, Holston. My case for Cousins is this: he is a big body and is fine with getting only 4-10 minutes a game. Sometimes that's all you need or want out of your backup big man. Plus he is a big body to practice against. One more thing....he came here because of Coach O's connection to his brother. Don't want to burn that bridge. Coach O probably also promised his mom that he would do everything to help him get his degree. Holston has been a disappointment shooting, but he has shown some spunk out there with some hustle at times. Agree with the other posters that passing has been bad. However, some kids just are not good at that aspect. Like ball handling....you either have it or you don't. Yes, passing is coachable but only to an extent. I don't even think AC is a good passer. Yes, he gets assists and make some good passes but then there are others where he is so late with the ball to shooters. Or the ball is not put on their chest so they have little effort to get a good shot up.
  14. Sheriff.....thought softball girls didn't like guys. Nice work swinging one back. Also, how many kids do you have......that you know of?? How can the staff track all these back from the Greenbergopolis days??
  15. Please let me know what Armwood kids besides McQuay and maybe Matt Jones who have lived up to their 'star ranking'?
  16. I see lots of USF gear around Tampa.....just need to win to bring them to the games
  17. Troy is just not the shooter I thought he was. Bo can't make layups right now. Guerrero will eventually get it, but he too misses easy shots. Him and Cousins continually put the ball on the floor when in the paint. Why?? Morrillo should pick up the scoring for Corey Allen next year.
  18. Smazza....care to place a 'wager' with Wagers? I say we win at least 6 to get to a bowl game. Loser sends $100 gift card to the other. Deal?
  19. I think these guys could be gone: - Perry (health) - Mercurious (started ok, but is lost now) - Clayton Holston gets a bye because of potential, but I agree he hasn't shown he can shoot like a pure shooter. Needs weight too. Has a decent feel for the game though.
  20. That guy looks like Chris Ward who used to or still runs the hoops program at IMG
  21. Also made it on the main sports news in Jax which is nice for USF
  22. Also from a powerhouse high school in Jax. A much needed area to recruit.
