  1. I have season tix but live in Jax Beach so it's tough to go to mid-week games. I did make sure my 8 tix were used though. Question.....was there a lot of people in the club sections again just hanging out? I am thinking this was part of it (as usual).
  2. What's going to be funny to see is Frost implode on the sidelines when UCF struggles this week against Maryland and other upcoming games.....knowing full well he is interviewing for his Nebraska job
  3. If we keep rolling on the field with giant score differences and our ranking gets in the high teen's, we should see some good crowds for Cincy and Houston (35-40k). The key then would be to have consecutive very good years to capture people back.
  4. Saw a twitter feed that said they were trying to get the fans to wear white on the sidelines and green in end zones. Hopefully we won't see too much red tonight(seats).
  5. I just completed this quiz. My Score 70/100 My Time 122 seconds
  6. I agree with Great 8, it was great we won, but there are so many flaws out there for professional basketball players. Yes, agree the coaching and rotation was suspect. But I can't be too hard on him for many reasons such as he is the one that put the team together, there isn't any real practice time, these players do their own thing many times anyway. So I will be more critical of the players. 1) In a one game and out tourney (such as this), they really need to stay away from 3's and rather pound the ball down low first. Or drive to the bucket because these teams don't have time to practice good help defense. The 3's will come more easily if they play inside out. 2) Dominique Jones and Corey Allen were great at driving the lane and Corey Allen played very good defense too 3) Ron Anderson has no business trying a 17 footer when the game was that close. But Ron did play very well in his normal touch inside game and good defense 4) Anthony Collins should have been used as part of a 3 guard offense with Corey Allen and D. Jones. He could have held Ervin Walker (who killed the team in the 2nd half) more in check. Next game should start the following players: Will McDonald, Ron Anderson, Dominque Jones, Corey Allen and Anthony Collins. Have A. Collins bring the ball up the floor and start C. Allen and D. Jones down low on blocks with Big Will and Ron setting the screens and let them pop out to the wings. This 5 will have really good D as well.
  7. Confirmed is very interested in coming back to USF and told this to Coach Gregory. He should be a no brainer to add as an assistant. - Won 20 games a year every year at Wharton (almost 20 years now). He also NEVER recruited a player to go there (unlike other schools). - Very hard nosed but fair coach - Master evaluator of talent - Runs great X's and O's at Wharton without harming the flow of the game. His inbounds plays were really outstanding - Dealt with some really tough kids from bad situations at Wharton, and became a father figure to many (tough love approach). Would be a great assistant to help these kids. - Knows USF well (played and coached there) - Bring back what little tradition we have at USF for basketball
  8. Egbunu is a stiff and will be flipping burgers soon
  9. Sheriff, While Seth did bring excitement/street ball to the Sun Dome, he also should be held accountable for letting about 5 local kids (3 of which played in the Final Four for other schools get away). 2 of them were NBA players, 1 lottery pick.....and they all wanted to come to USF.
  10. Agree with Rizman....terrible in game coach. I gave him a pass for 2 years as he didn't have any players. But when he did have some players (as they do now), this lack of good sets or not knowing when to call a timeout was poor.
  11. For those that don't know, Tonelli was a 4 year starting PG at USF and assistant coach for 10+ years. He even was hired by Stan Heath as Director of Basketball Operations and then promised an assistant job but was given to a 'recruiter' who didn't get anyone to USF. This guy can flat out coach. Wharton has never recruited a player to play there and has won a tough district almost every year and made it to the state Final 4 a few years ago. His plays are very crisp and his defense is extremely tough. It's hard nosed basketball with tough kids. Heck, his son's were there for 4 years each and made them earn playing time like everyone else. The guy is TOUGH and organized. We need one of our own at USF. If they go in a different direction than COA (almost a must), then Tonelli would be perfect to coach young talented guys like Bibby, Fitts, Da Silva. Plus get him for say 500k/year, then the buyout isn't so bad for COA.
  12. That's my guess too. Just doesn't know the play calls. Yes, I know...it looks like there are no plays to begin with the way they are playing, but it would look even worse if he had no clue where to screen, etc.
  13. Schedule is not as bad as people are making it out. We get Lovie Smith coming back to Tampa. That should draw 40k with some of their fans. We also get Houston. There will also be lots of hype of Flowers for Heisman, etc. Plus Charlie Strong effect. I am thinking 25k in season tickets, but 40k will be our average.
  14. I live in Jax. He is a great offensive mind and some UF fans wanted him as UF offensive coordinator. However, some 'personal' issues caused JU to look in another direction for coach.
  15. While the latest coaching situation may put a damper on some of your plans, but the school needs your support more than ever now. We have some very big names rumored to fill the role and need to keep this thing going. We have a great AD and he will make the right moves as this is what he is paid to do. Continue to buy your bowl tickets and make your way to B-Ham to play an SEC school. Memphis did not handle this same role last year well against Auburn. If we beat SC, we can then have bragging rights over both Clemson and South Carolina in beating both schools in bowls in recent history. Great thing to hang over their heads when running into those folks (and there are a lot of them). Heads up Bull fans!
  16. First, I hope Willie stays. But if he doesn't Kiffin would put butts in the seats just with the buzz hire. Also I like the fact he has witnessed 3 years worth of Saban's practices and could implement those here. He would also probably bring his daddy Monte as a D-coordinator advisor.
  17. I am probably going to put in a little one or two day golf trip(Robert Trent Jones Trail) for Birmingham bowl game. Going to be a skins game (gross/net) and a few proximities. Respond to this post if there is any interest. Here are the courses: Oxmoor (around $60) and Ross Bridge (around $120). https://www.rtjgolf.com/rossbridge/
  18. In realtime RPI, the AAC is only one one-hundredth away from overtaking the Big12. USF at #21. http://realtimerpi.com/college_football/ncaaf_conf.html
  19. We should not have to look far for our new soccer coach. U of Tampa has a very good one and gave us a few hard games in recent years. They even beat UCF on the road this year 2-1. Someone like this is going to know all the good local/state club coaches in addition to pulling kids from all over. I hope Harlan looks hard at this and sees that this would be a good hire. 2016: 13-5-3 (win over UCF) Career record: Totals 12 seasons 127-77-19 Six NCAA appearances
  20. Mentioning another request of 64-12 would be good
  21. Us whities are good in the skills of shooting the basketball and UFC fighting. All kidding aside, Elon will be a good team this year and might see them win their league.
